Sean Tizzle Reacts To Bleaching Reports In New Interview With Punch

In a new interview with Punch, fast rising singer, Sean Tizzle talked about some personal issues and reports of him bleaching. Enjoy the excerpt below;

Where did the name ‘Sean Tizzle’ come from?
I coined it from my real name which is Seun. I just changed the ‘u’ to ‘a.’ The ‘Tizzle’ is just teaser.

How did you feel performing for a huge crowd at the last edition of Star Trek?
I actually performed at the previous edition but in just one city. But this year, things changed a bit. It was wonderful. I was able to perform for a huge crowd. It was interesting. The love I was shown was awesome. It felt good to be called on the stage and for everybody to scream.

How did you feel winning the Next Rated category of the Headies award?
I felt great. I was given a car. It shows that we have been sowing good seeds. It is time to reap. I have won some other awards. I was nominated for the Nigeria Entertainment Award in Los Angeles last year. I didn’t win though.

Did you anticipate that you would ‘blow’ like this when you started your career?
It is mandatory. You work and you wish yourself good. When you work, you pray and you expect results. I have really tried. I was expecting to come out big. I was steadfast because I believed I would ‘blow’ one day.

You titled your new album The Journey; how has your journey to this height been?
It has been rough, tough and smooth at times. Everybody goes through a journey. Every stage in somebody’s life is a journey. Life’s journey starts when you are born.

You got into the industry when it was thought to be already saturated with stars, but how were you able to find a space and become noticed?
I worked hard and I worked with the right people. I prayed as well. You know that it is just God who blesses people. I am a Christian. God has been merciful.

But most Nigerian artistes these days are better known as ‘one hit musicians’ who go under as soon as the success of that single dries off. In your own case, do you think your face would be relevant in years to come?
I am not going anywhere. I am going to remain here for as long as I can do music. You can tell from this album. When I came out with my first single, Sho Le, people thought that would be the last. But I came out with yet another single and another single and even another single before I came out with this album. All the songs are hit songs. So we should expect something bigger. I have dropped some videos.

How have you been able to shoulder the responsibilities that come with fame?
I have been handling it well. I am not trying to praise myself but I have been down-to-earth right from the first day. This is the same me. I have learnt to respect and appreciate people. It takes a lot for somebody to like you, so I wouldn’t want to jeopardise that. I don’t let fame get to my head.

Do you really bleach your skin as some people have accused you of doing?
I heard that as well. I don’t bleach my skin. I know why people are saying that. It is because my knuckles are dark. But they have always been like this from birth. I have tried everything but my knuckles have remained like this. I will not fight God. He created me this way. So I have left my hands like this.

How does it feel being an MTN ambassador?
Very nice. One or two brands made me their ambassador as well. But I am not ready to talk about those companies now. I didn’t lobby for the endorsements. It is just God and my credibility.

So many people have the perception that once you are a brand ambassador, you might not be able to ‘collabo’ with a colleague who is a rival brand’s ambassador; how true is this?
It is not like that. Na ‘we we’ in this industry. These people are my friends. I have Olamide on my album. I have Ice Prince on my album. They are not MTN ambassadors. They are my friends.

What is it like being a star?
I am fine with stardom. I know there are times people want to get closer. I appreciate it. It is not a problem. It is their prayer that is working for me. If they get to know me more, I get more money. I love and respect the ladies. I am a perfect gentleman.

But there must be one of them who is so special in your life at the moment…
Everybody is special to me right now. There is no particular special at the moment. However, very soon you will find out who the special person will be. Right now, I am single and singing.

Did you start singing from your mother’s womb as most artistes always claim?
How is it possible? You will learn to talk before you start singing. However, I started music a long time ago. I may not remember how long ago but I started when I was in secondary school. I went to Command Secondary School, Ibadan. I used to be in a group of three called Two Be One. We went our separate ways in 2008. That was when I met D’Tune and I started my solo career.

So you would say that the breaking up of the group was a blessing in disguise?
As you can see, it is. I am not saying they were bad luck. But there is a stage in life and you just have to move on. They are doing fine as well. One is a graduate and the other one is still doing music. We are still good friends. One is my friend and the other is my cousin.

Most artistes always get high by indulging in drugs and stuffs. How do you get high?
I don’t think doing drugs and getting high is restricted to just artistes alone. It is just your personality. Those who are not stars still smoke and drink all the time. It is not about your status, it is just who you are.

How far did you go in school?
I tried a bit, at least I still entered the university. I did a three-year diploma programme in Theatre Arts at the University of Ibadan.

So are you not going to get a degree?
For now, no. But then, it is good to go to school. I will not discourage anybody from going to school. But at the end of the day, you have to become somebody in life. People will have to rely on you. You will have mouths to feed whether you went to school or not. My parents were supportive right from the first day. They gave me financial support and they prayed for me all the time.

Meet Socrates Uduk, The Entertainment Demigod That Shock theFoundations of Madonna University

Legend has it that if you were a Madonna University student that schooled within 2005 to 2010, be it at the Anambra State campus or the River’s State campus of the institution and you did not know Socrates Uduk, who was as at then, the official Madonna University Shakira, that you could be expelled, as it was an indication that you do not stay on campus because it was prohibited for students to school off campus. This was because Socrates Uduk was like a stage demigod in entertainment events organized in Madonna University, throughout his studies at the prestigious institution.

As the saying goes, “a golden fish has no hiding place”, this explains why Socrates Uduk continues to fly in the music industry, which further explains why leading motivational speaker and success coach, Charles Ajiboye invited the quintessential stage icon to perform before big names at The 2013 IC-Cube National Conference and Job/Enterprise Fair. The multi-talented artist did not leave any one in doubt that he got what it takes.

For more on The 2013 IC-Cube National Conference and Job/Enterprise Fair, visit this link: http://businessdayonline.com/2013/10/ic-cube-conference-set-to-link-employers-jobseekers/#.U9o_D7I1jIU. And for more on his performance at the event, visit this link: http://chukwudiiwuchukwu.blogspot.com/2013/10/newest-entry-in-nigerian-music-industry_28.html

Looking at his recent activities, one can say that Socrates Uduk is in a new phase of his musical career as he presently rolls with stars, one of which is his obvious strong ties with award winning comedian, singer, music executive, tv host, dancer, writer, actor and UN Ambassador for Peace, Owen Osemwengie, popularly known as Owen Gee. Owen Gee the entertainment bigwig, has sang songs with MI, Waje, Sossick, Gino etc.

Information from a reliable source revealed that communications between the duo began the same month The 2013 IC-Cube National Conference and Job/Enterprise Fair was held. Owen Gee was invited to speak at the said event and must have developed interest in Socrates Uduk’s talent since Socrates Uduk performed in the same event.

The source further revealed that the first meeting between the duo was at Bachelos Chicken, Isaac John street, few weeks after the said performance, where plans on the musical advancement of Socrates Uduk were concretize. The duo were again spotted together at the Bunmi Davies event “Once Upon a Mad Man”, that held on Easter Monday 22nd April 2014, at the Muson Centre, and again on the 26th July 2014 at “The Bomb Club” at Surulere.

Now that we know that the duo roll together, let’s see if we can find more information on the plans for Socrates Uduk. Maybe the presence of Drew in their most recent meeting  at Bar La Mango, Ikeja G.R.A on the 3rd August 2014, will give us some clue.

Drew, a seasoned producer/artist and the right hand man of ace producer, Sossick, brought to our listening pleasure, the highly rated mixtape “Blood Drive”, as well as his self-produced 1st official hit single “Ashtrays and Bottles” and he has produced and sang songs with YQ, Obadice etc, as well as co-produced hit songs of popular music artists. We have disclosure from an authoritative source that Socrates Uduk with the backing of Owen Gee, Drew and a team of other stakeholders in the music industry, is on his way to more money and fame.

What entertainment will Socrates Uduk have to offer? Only time will tell. Watch this space for more news about this quintessential artist.

Burna Boy's Mother Talks About Been Sacked By Her Son

Burna Boy's mother has finally opened up to the press on her alleged misunderstanding with her son which led to her being fired. In a chat with Punch, she addressed the issue and also talked about Burna's recent declaration that he is never going to get married.

“The boy is 23 and if he feels that at his age he would not marry, he can change his mind in five years. He can even change his mind tomorrow. I am just laughing that he said hewould not get married. How many people have said that in the industry and are married today? When I was younger, I remember saying that I would not get pregnant when I saw pregnant women but now, I have three children".

On firing her as his manager.

“I was not in the country when the story broke and I have said I would not make any comment on it because it is totally unimportant. Whether I am his manager or not, he is my child and there is no role bigger than that. I am so shocked about how people made a big deal of the issue. I am not a musician or an entertainer, so I don’t owe anyone an explanation but he has done enough.

“They should just leave the poor boy alone. I am not a twitter reading person; I talk to him on a daily basis, so I am not interested in what is on twitter. I have absolutely no problem with my child and as far as his career goes, I still do what I have to do. I still do everything I used to do but I cannot always do everything. I was out of the Country for about eight weeks, how much can I do? There is no issue with us and there is no reason to feel anyhow. It is something we discussed and I still do what I have to do, I still manage some of his accounts, transactions and endorsements but I can’t do everything. There is no issue there at all.

If I have an issue with my son I would go and meet him. I still handle his corporate shows because nobody else can do that for now. I am only one person and I am not a young person and he is going bigger every day. This is not something that should have been misconceived at all.”

CCTV Suggests Patrick Sawyer Intentionally Brought Ebola Virus to Nigeria

To confirm suspicions surrounding the mission of the Liberian health official who died in Lagos Nigeria late last month, a CCTV video in Liberia clearly showed the man in pain few hours before his departure at the airport.

Images from a Close Circuit Television (CCTV) monitored at the James Spriggs Payne’s Airport have shown how the late Patrick Sawyer was terribly ill before boarding the Nigeria bond flight.
The late Sawyer from the recording, it appears he knew, he had been infected by the deadly tropical disease. His behavior, among other passengers waiting at the boarding gate was strange.

His face bore a sad countenance like
someone who was troubled, as he sat alone avoiding body contacts with everyone who came close by him.
His strange behavior and frequent
movement up and down as he eagerly awaits his ASky flight had prompted the security camera operator to focus on him.

In the video, Patrick could be seen avoiding physical contacts with airport employees and other passengers during the check in process.

After checking in, Patrick briefings left the terminal, but he would soon be shown sitting in an isolated area by himself at the boarding gate or waiting room. The video footage also shows the late Patrick lying flat on his stomach on the floor in the corridor of the airport a sign of someone in excruciating pain.

Meanwhile, the Liberian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mr Nurudeem Mohammed, told journalists in Abuja that President Ellen Sirleaf- Johnson, was deeply sorry that Sawyer brought the virus to Nigeria.

He said that the deceased was under surveillance in Liberia but that he sneaked into Lagos.

Mohammed said, “The Liberian President President has personally called to apologise on the unfortunate development. "She specifically said her country had declared a state of emergency over the Ebola epidermic in Liberia.  ‘She equally apologised that Sawyer ignored medical advice and escaped out of Liberia.”

However, hopes that the United States may send Zmapp, the experimental drug for Ebola virus treatment, appear dashed going by US President Barack Obama’s declaration that it was too early for West African countries hit by the outbreak to have it.

Ebola Wahala: No More Handshakes In Imo State

The Imo State Government has warned against handshake and other forms of close contacts to check the spread of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).

The State Commissioner of Health, Dr Edward Ihejirika, made this known yesterday while speaking with journalists in Owerri, the state capital, on precautionary measures taken to check the spread of the virus.

He said avoiding a handshake could
prevent the spread of the disease, adding that the virus could be contracted through handshake with an infected person.

Ihejirika also urged the residents to avoid travelling to areas where Ebola has been detected.

The commissioner said the Rochas
Okorocha administration had begun the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to hospitals.

He also said health workers and care- givers were at a greater risk of contracting Ebola because of their close contacts with infected persons, especially during treatment.

Ihejirika said the government was planning a sensitization tour of the 27 local government areas of the state to educate the people about the disease.

See What US President, Barack Obama Has To Say About Ebola Cure

US President, Barack Obama said
yesterday August 6th that it’s too early to send the unapproved experimental drug, Zmapp serum to Africa where the outbreak of the Ebola virus has recorded more deaths and threatens human existence.

Zmapp serum has proven to be effective in treating Ebola cases as two American doctor infected with the virus in Liberia are currently being treated in the US and are said to have improved after the use of the drug.

According to AFP, President Obama
suggested that affected African countries should focus more on building strong public infrastructures.

“I think we have to let the scientist guide us. And I don’t think all the information is in on whether this drug is helpful”.

On whether he would help fast track the approval of the drug should medical experts conclude that the drug is effective, President Obama said;

“I think it’s premature for me to say that because I don’t have enough information. I don’t have enough data right now to offer an opinion on that.”

While stressing that the deadly virus is not airborne, Obama said

“the countries affected are the first to admit that what’s happened here is the public health systems have been overwhelmed. They weren’t able to identify and then isolate cases quickly enough. As a consequence, it spread more rapidly than has been typical with the periodic Ebola outbreak that occurred previously.”

He said the US is currently working with their European partners as well as the World Health Organization to provide resources to contain the virus.

Unbelievable: Former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu Rubbishes President Jonathan

A former governor of Lagos state and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu has faulted the style of leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan. He describes the President as a confused man who is unfit and incompetent to rule Nigeria.

Tinubu who spoke during the rally held for the re-election of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, in Osogbo, said the President does not understand what it means to govern and therefore knows nothing about good governance.

He wondered why the President would deploy soldiers for an election when they should have been used to stop the killing of Nigerians in the North.

He said, “President Goodluck Jonathan does not understand what it means to govern. He knows nothing about good governance. He’s confused.

“How can he bring soldiers to Osun
because of election and claimed to be protecting youth corps members, when he should have used that force to stop the killing of our people in the North?”

“People of Osun must not collect bribe from Peoples Democratic Party. We have offered you better life, good jobs will be offered the youths and we will maintain the register of progress in this state.

“APC is the party for the masses with the capacity to care for the people. I want you to know that the FG is using your money to pay the soldiers and the police brought here. Don’t run away from them so that you can protect your votes. If they fail in their duty to provide security for you, we will  protest their oppression. They cannot chase us away from our votes.”

Jim Iyke was heavily criticised for his comments and attitude over the very sensitive issue.

In his apology statement he says:

“May I humbly apologize if my comments on Ebola – based on fear – were taken out of context.”  The last thing I wanted to do was to alarm anyone.

My heart goes out to all the families who have been affected by the Ebola virus –those who have lost their lives or loved ones, those who are still bravely fighting the disease and all of the communities who are battling to keep the infection under control. You are all in my prayers.

As I TRAVEL constantly across continents, most recently USA, Senegal, Liberia, Ghana, Gambia, I have been screened where and when necessary along with the other passengers and I believe it is the responsibility of every citizen to be vigilant and help contain the outbreak by following the advice of the local and international medical professionals and government officials”.

Ebola Update : Lagos begins search for 27 secondary contacts

According to Punch, Lagos State Government has commenced an intensive search for 27 secondary contacts, who might have had contacts with doctors, nurses and health workers, who attended to the late Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer, at a Lagos private hospital.

Sawyer, who was infected with the deadly Ebola virus in his native Liberia, died in the Obalende, Lagos-based hospital penultimate Friday, four days after he was admitted to the hospital.

The 40-year-old Sawyer was in Nigeria to attend a conference in Calabar, Cross River State. Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, who spoke in Lagos on Wednesday, said the government was also planning a life insurance cover for doctors and other health professionals, who volunteered to work with experts monitoring and testing suspected cases of the Ebola Virus Disease.

Idris, who spoke at a press briefing, said the government was presently facing a shortage of experts, doctors and health workers needed to attend to those that had been infected and those that were going to be isolated for monitoring.

He said, “We will provide a life insurance for any doctor, nurse and other experts that want to work with isolated patients. We need more hands, because we have moved from the stage of primary contacts to secondary contacts.

“We are tracing all the people that had contact, not just with (the late) Sawyer, but those that had contacts with the health workers and others that have died.

“We have identified 27 secondary contacts already, we tracing the addresses of others.

“It is a tedious task, because we will also be taking their blood samples for testing and we will be monitoring them.
“We are appealing to the doctors on strike to resume work and set aside their grievances. No doubt, this situation is a dire emergency and our health professionals must recognise that.

“It will be morally unjustifiable for us to call for help from the international community if our own experts and doctors are not working.

“The bottom line is that we cannot provide the requisite expertise needed to manage these confirmed and probable cases.”

Idris said it would also be evacuating tuberculosis patients at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Yaba, Lagos, to another hospital to accommodate more suspected and isolated cases.

We have also confirmed that the female doctor whom was infected with Ebola died today in Lagos state.

Exclusive: Davido Explains Why He Is Mad At Wizkid

Davido has finally opened up on his alleged ‘beef’ with Wizkid.

While speaking with Sahara TV, Davido said ‘It’s not beef at all..but I’m the type of person if I feel something… to me everything you do, you don’t hit your brother down’

He explained further that the saga began after Wizkid made a comment about his NY concert, which he believed was directed at him.

‘This is the first time I’m saying this but the only reason I was upset was because of the NY concert. I was even going to tweet like you know ‘make sure everybody turn up for my brother Wizkid’s concert’ and he threw a shade like that. I’m not going to take that…that’s why I went and said what I said’ , he said.

"But it’s all cool, at the end of the day, we got to keep it on the music. Shout out to him. I’m still a big fan. It was never nothing but don’t throw a shade at me… especially when we were on the flight earlier. By the way, check the numbers on my last concert. Let’s leave it like that’ , he concluded.

We hope Wizkid would open up too.

Ebola: Striking Doctors Offer To Treat Ebola Patients

Striking doctors in Lagos State have
volunteered to join the team of experts managing patients at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.

The chairman, Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association, Dr. Tope Ojo, who said this at a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday, added that strike would not stop doctors in the state from attending to persons suspected to have contracted the Ebola virus.

Ojo said about 30 of its members had volunteered to join seven of the Ebola Emergency Response and Management Committee working on the prevention and control of the disease at the IDH centre in Yaba.

He said, “Strike or no strike, we must respond to emergencies. Our doctors are at Mainland Hospital, Yaba, were isolated contacts are being monitored. There are seven committees working on the management of the disease at the centre in Lagos, which our members are part of.

“But the committee, where we are having challenges getting volunteers, is case management. This are the people that work directly with confirmed cases.

“Look at the protective measures that doctors in Liberia and Guinea wear. They are well protected, yet some of them still caught it. Our doctors are worried about the danger it poses to their lives and they need to be reassured.

“Striking doctors offer to treat Ebola patientsWe understand their fears and we are making moves to confirm the level of preparedness of the government for doctors.”

He informed that the infected doctor, who is presently on admission at the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, was responding to treatment.

“We know that the infected doctor is stable, however, the matron is in a critical condition. But everybody, including the experts from the World Health Organisation, is doing all they can,” he said.
