Drake and Future Sued for $25 Million by Woman Raped at their Concert

A woman who was allegedly raped at a Drake and Future concert last year is suing the rappers among others , for $25 million, claiming their negligence led to her attack.

According to a lawsuit filed earlier this week in federal court, the woman (identified only as Jane Doe) claims she attended the Drake/Future concert on August 14, 2016 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The woman claims that during the show, she was approached by “a man associated with Bridgestone Arena” who offered to take her backstage to meet the performers.

As the woman followed the man — later identified as Leavy Johnson — backstage, she claims he “suddenly … pushed Jane Doe to the ground and violently assaulted her, shattering her cell phone and causing severe physical and psychological injury.”

(Johnson has since been arrested and charged with rape, according to The Tennessean. He is currently awaiting trial.)
The woman claims Johnson had outstanding warrants for assault at the time of the alleged rape and claims the arena, the touring companies, the company that provided the security and the rappers all should have known that employing Johnson would “pose an unreasonable risk to others.”
The woman is seeking no less than $25 million in damages, plus court costs

$10K reward offered to nab person who introduced fish into lake that devours all other fish

The Nevada Department of Wildlife is offering a $10,000 reward to help nab the culprit who apparently dumped Northern pike in Comins Lake, a popular fishing spot surrounded by mountains near Great Basin National Park.

By all accounts, Comins Lake was well on its way to recovery after the state restocked the fishery with largemouth bass, brown and rainbow trout in 2015.

But the invading Northern Pike were discovered again last month by a fisherman who caught one and called state wildlife officials. Five more have been confirmed since then.

“This malicious and illegal act seriously endangers our effort to restore this important fishery,” said Jon Sjoberg, chief of fisheries for the Nevada Department of Wildlife. “The people illegally introducing pike are destroying a fishery, not creating a new one.”

Chief Game Warden Tyler Turnipseed announced the reward this week.

“We intend to find who did it,” he said.

Northern pike , with its long, needle-sharp teeth, the voracious predator that sometimes grows longer than 4 feet (1.2 meters) can wipe out an entire fishery.

“They eat all the trout we put in there,” Edwin Lyngar, spokesman for the state wildlife agency, said in an interview Friday. “Then they eat all the other fish they can find, and then they start to eat each other.”

FaceBook, Google lose $123m to scammer(Photo)

The Court of Appeal of Lithuania has decided to extradite to the United States a Lithuanian scam artist identified as Evaldas Rimasauskas, who conned $123 million out of FaceBook and Google by sending fake emails.

“Assumption that the damage was done to the companies registered in the United States became the ground for the extradition of Rimasauskas,” the court said in a press release on Friday.
The decision to extradite the scammer was irrevocable, the court said.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York accused Rimasauskas of wire transfer fraud, aggravated identity theft and money laundering, news agency Elta reported.

It is alleged that Rimasauskas took part in the scam using e-mail correspondence and posed as an Asian computer hardware manufacturer to persuade Google and FaceBook to accept fraudulent invoices and transfer funds to the company established under the same name in Latvia.

The funds were transferred to the latter company’s accounts in banks in Cyprus and Latvia.

Rimasauskas is suspected to have conned 23 million dollars from Google and 100 million dollars from FaceBook.

He was detained in Lithuania on March 16. On April 18, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Lithuania received the U.S. Justice Department’s request to extradite the suspect.

Rimasauskas has denied the charges.

Meanwhile, the attorney of Rimasauskas claimed that the investigation of the suspected crime must take place in Lithuania as the allegedly criminal actions were carried out within the country, local media reported.

Lithuania has a bilateral extradition agreement with the United States and this case “meets all the criteria”, the chairman of the court underlined.

30 killed in Ozubulu brothers’ drug war in S/Africa

The drug war between indigenes of the Ozubulu caused by mistrust may have claimed 30 lives in South Africa. The deaths occurred following a collapsed business deal.

The deaths resonated in Ozubulu community in Anambra state when the Catholic Church was attacked leaving more than 13 people dead on Sunday, August 6.

According to the Vanguard, the quarrel among the indigenes of Ozubulu in residing in South Africa was caused by the suspicion among them over failure to keep to business deals.

The theatre of war shifted to Amakwa village, causing last Sunday’s shooting incident at St Philip’s Catholic Church, in which 27 worshippers were also injured.

The shooting took place during 6.00am Mass.Five of its indigenes were killed this year in South Africa.

Some of the villagers revealed to Vanguard which visited Ozubulu after the Sunday killings.

“In 10 years about 30 people from this place have been killed in South Africa,” a woman who preferred anonymity for security reasons told us.
“It had to do with one deal or the other”, she said

Vanguard made inquiries about the owners of the mansions and discovered that most of their owners reside in South Africa and were either dead or had not returned home for a long time due to fear associated with the nature of their businesses.

Looking at some of the houses, it was obvious that they had been abandoned for a long time. It was gathered that many of the people who own the houses consistently contribute meaningfully towards community development through their relations, especially in the area of church building, road rehabilitation, market construction, among other projects.

Take the case of Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu, popularly called ‘Bishop’ for instance, he started contributing towards the development of Ozubulu many years ago and before he returned home and got involved in community development. Some years ago, he was awarded a chieftaincy title by the community even in his absence due to his contributions towards the development of the community.

The Monarch of Ozubulu, Igwe Oruche confirmed that the problem started about 10 years ago when ODU, which has a branch in South Africa, wanted to elect a new President- General there. He said:

“This created a major disagreement over who would be their leader in that country and it eventually tore them apart. But the overall President General both in Ozubulu and in Diaspora, Engr. Norbert Anigbogu intervened by inviting the two factions back home for a peaceful resolution of the problem. “When they returned, a traditional oath was prepared for them to take in order to enthrone brotherliness among them and to further quell the rift between the factions, but most of them refused to take the oath on the basis that they are Christians.

“At that point, an alternative was made and a Catholic priest was invited to perform the Christian aspect of oath- taking which was done and everyone appreciated it. “But later, the conflict was rekindled by some of them who reneged the agreement made during the oath taking alleged that since I, the traditional ruler, was not present during the exercise, the reconciliation was null, void and improper.”

It Will Be Pure Wickedness If I Deny My Daughter A Boyfriend At 15 - Kenny Saint Brown

Songstress Kenny Saint Brown, has revealed the age her daughter will be allowed to date.

Speaking with Saturday Beats, Kenny, who was formerly married to One half of popular 80's group, Remedies Eddy Montana and bore two kids for, revealed she her girls will be allowed to date at the age of 15.

In her words:

‘Penis Envy’ is a stage theorised by Sigmund Freud regarding female psycho sexual development, in which young girls experience anxiety upon realization that they do not have a penis. However, the singer said that her Philosophy lecturer in school defined it as a stage in a young girl’s life when she realises that she attracts the member of the opposite sex.
She continued:

“When I was in the university, I took a course in Philosophy and they taught us that there is a particular age that girls start dating and they call it the age of ‘Penis Envy’. It is not that the girls are necessarily looking for sex, it is just a stage in their life whereby they realise that they are pretty and they can be attractive to a guy. For me, once my daughter is 15 years old then it is okay for her to date. It is not that they would be walking around holding hands but it has to be a civil and responsible relationship.
I am not a regular parent, I feel it is okay for a female child to be aware that she is attractive to guys and she should also know that the guy would woo her. That was the age it happened to me and I would be a wicked mother to expect that at the age of 15, my daughter would not have someone wooing her or telling her the usual lies guys tell ladies.

“So for my boy, if he is 17 and I notice that he is always talking to someone on the phone and always smiling, it is okay. It does not mean that they are going to be practicing sex; it just means that they are understanding matters of the heart and love apart from the love they get from their parents,” she said.

Nnamdi Kanu Violated His Bail Condition -FG

Lt-Gen Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (retd), the Minister of Interior, has accused the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, of violating the bail conditions given him by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

While speaking on the issue during a press conference held in his office in Abuja yesterday, he said:
“Nnamdi Kanu violates bail conditions but it is not time yet for him to go back to the court on trial. .
We have this assumption but I think it is left for the court that gave those conditions to determine whether those conditions were violated or not. If those conditions were violated, the court knows what to do.

We cannot assume that those conditions are being violated. Yes, the public knows those conditions given but the determination of the extent of violation will be left for the court.
It is not like the police will go after Kanu to arrest him on the grounds that he violated the bail conditions. Kanu will have a day in court and the court will determine his fate because it is the court that gave those conditions.” .

Why we are silent on Diezani's loot allegation-PDP

The People's Democratic Party has explained why it has been silent on allegations of looting by former petroleum minister, Diezani Madueke.

The spokesperson for the party’s National Caretaker Committee, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, at a press briefing on Friday said ,the former ruling party would not make any comment on the allegations against Diezani and other members of the party, who were being tried for corruption.

He noted that the publicity given to the corruption allegations against Diezani and others were intended to portray the PDP as a party of corrupt people.
He said, “The only thing you need to do today is to defect to the APC and all your sins would be forgiven. All APC members are saints and others are sinners.
“How can the EFCC make allegations and convict us by itself? It is the one making allegations and it is the one convicting people.
“Until a court of competent jurisdiction pronounces the suspects guilty, they remain just suspects and innocent as well. So, we won’t talk about those issues.
“If there is a genuine case against her or any other person, please go to court and establish that they are corrupt. You can’t just claim that you have found someone with money you suspect was illegally acquired and pronounce such person guilty. You need to go to court and establish it.”

Resign If You’re Not Strong Enough - Bishops Tell Buhari

In support of the protests demanding the president's resignation, some bishops have asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign from office because of his ill health.

Speaking on Friday at the second session of the Twelfth Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Owo, the Bishop of Owo Diocese, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Rt. Revd. James Oladunjoye, asked Buhari to resign and give room for another person to do the job.

The bishop said

“We thank God for the President and for the way he had been ruling according to the law, but there is something wrong that we want him to address.“He has been ill for so many months in his tenure and so, is it not proper for the country to know his health condition as he is no more a private personality?“He is public property and if he is not strong enough to continue as the leader of this country, it is better for him to resign so that another qualified individual can take up the office legitimately.”

Speaking based on his personal relationship with Oladunjoye, the Bishop of the Ibadan South Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Rt. Revd. Jacob Ajetunmobi, said his counterpart at the Owo Diocese was speaking based on the experience he (Oladunjoye) had.

Ajetunmobi said Oladunjoye had had accidents which forced the latter to consider early retirement, adding that if a cleric could be forced to retire early because of his health, the President should also be able to do so.

Ajetunmobi said,

“He (Oladunjoye) had separate accidents that led to him suffering from a broken hand. He had taken treatment in Nigeria but had to travel to the United States for more treatment. He is now being forced to retire early before turning 70 as a result of that.
“He is speaking from personal experience that if health challenge will not permit him to function properly in his position, he would rather resign.
“Acting President Yemi Osinbajo should be able to carry on with the administration of Nigeria. Buhari was one of those calling for late President Umaru Yar’Adua’s resignation then, but now, he knows that what goes around comes around. We should be careful what we wish others.
“Here, I am a bit more radical in my opinion, but it is much more complex than we think. There are underpinning theological positions involved.” “Buhari has about one more year to spend as President, but he should not think of coming back for a second term. The All Progressives Congress should think along and restructure its leadership or be ready to fail in 2019.”

These New Generation Artistes Are Disrespectful - Samklef

Music producer Samklef, made news a few days back when he revealed he has some issues with Starboy Wizkid, for the latter's refusal of acknowledging the part he played in his life.

Speaking with Saturday Beats, Samklef made it known he is no longer angry with Wizkid.

In his words:

“I am part of Wizkid’s history whether he likes it or not and he cannot write his story without mentioning my name. I have always respected Wizkid’s hustle from day one. He has a strong will. So far so good, we have settled the misunderstanding between us in 2015 after one of my trips from America. We are all busy now, so I am no longer worried about whatever people say because at the end of the day, we all have our journey in life and success is the most important thing. I am no longer bitter at Wizkid, the past is gone.”

Speaking of his new deal with Akon and the new generation artistes, he said:

“Before I bagged this new deal, people told me to my face that my career was dead. I felt quite disappointed at those people but it got to a time when I stopped having any feeling about that remark. I realised it was not about how people saw me but the perception I had of myself. So far, I have been trying to stay relevant. Consistency is the key. Nigerians are so sentimental and they don’t appreciate their own and that is why I pity so many talented people that had reigned in the past. Once you are no longer in the limelight, they forget about you. They do not even think about the good works that you had done.

“This new generation artistes do not have respect especially when they have ‘blown’. They are quick to forget the people that were there before them. They forget that what they do to others would always come back to haunt them. I don’t ever wish bad for anyone. I have paid my dues and I played my role in building this music industry that everyone is benefitting from and no one is giving me my credit but God has crowned my effort with glory and He decided to pay me with this new deal,” Samklef said.
