After 19 Years Of Marriage, 52-Year-Old Woman Finally Gives Birth In Bayelsa

Mrs Kate Fezigha, a 52-year-old midwife at the General Hospital, Sagbama, Bayelsa, said she gave birth to a baby girl on June 3 to end 19-year barrenness.

Fezigha gave the testimony at the Child Dedication and Thanksgiving Service of the baby christened Prudent, in Yenagoa on Sunday.

She said she got married in 1994 and had supervised the delivery of many children and witnessed the joy and feeling of many mothers during labour and child birth.

According to her, an attempt to adopt a child from a Bayelsa-based Orphanage was fruitless as she was swindled by the purported coordinator of the home.

She said that her chances of conception were further reduced on attainment of menopause when she ceased to observe her monthly menstrual cycle.

She said that the arrival of  Prudent changed her story and brought joy and consolation to the family.

The elated  mother said that the conception and delivery of the miracle baby was “the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in His sight’’.

Fezigha said the pressure became unbearable during the 19-years waiting, and she took stock of her service as a midwife but she managed to remain steadfast in her trust in God.

“It was not an easy experience to see others through the child bearing process and not to have your own child.

“And it is particularly touching when I have had a very successful  professional practice as a midwife.

“I have not lost any baby or mother under my care as a midwife under the Bayelsa Government,’’ she recalled.

She continued: “I was worried that many of the children I had taken delivery of during service were now parents.

“I even reflected and wondered why is it that that despite  the fact that no child had died in my hand during delivery as midwife, why can’t I have my own, but a voice kept telling me to redouble my effort and I shall be blessed.

“But the mysterious voice started reducing in my head as I was losing hope.

“I decided to adopt a baby from an orphanage and I was duped. At this stage, I deliberately killed the voice and hand it all to God.

“I asked him that I will not disturb him any longer. And if he decides to give me a child, so be it,’’ Fezigha said in her testimony.

Narrating her experience with childlessness Fezigha, explained  that a stage in her life, her mysterious sickness led her to take a scan and it was diagnosed to be either a ‘fibroid or Cyst’.

According to her, another scan later revealed that she was pregnant. I had mixed feelings after the second scan.

“I even told my husband that it is false pregnancy. When my husband asked me what that meant, I became his lecturer telling him what he meant and saw the expectation of a pregnancy in his eyes.

“Few months later, I started seeing some changes in my body. Throughout this period, I could not go to work and had to be hospitalised twice before I delivered.

“Those who knew me could not believe it and screamed when they see my swollen stomach. When they see me, they scream and shout praise the Lord,’’ she said amidst joy.

Fezigha, said that her family is full of praise to God, “all the period of waiting was not easy, but I am comforted by the word of God.

“Let me advice women that are hoping for a child to put their faith in God. God will give them a child and they should not patronise native doctors.’’

OIL THEFT: End of the road for pastor, herbalist, 26 others (Read 975 times) gistaddicts (112) Upcoming (m) | 6 hrs ago

Ajuwa in Ikenne local government area of Ogun State is known for its agrarian nature. But many of the villagers seem to have, lately, abandoned agriculture for the more lucrative business of pipeline vandalisation.  They burst the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s (NNPC) pipelines passing through their village to steal fuel which they sell.
Sunday Vanguard gathered that, apart from Arepo village in Obafemi-Owode local government area of Ogun State, where some vandals lost their lives while scooping fuel, last year, the next hot spot for black market for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol, is Ajuwa.
Before security men raided the NNPC right of way in the village, vandalisation was said to have been a thriving activity in the area. Ajuwa is two kilometers away from the old Ogere toll gate on Lagos-Ibadan expressway and sandwiched by Ogere Water Corporation and the popular Siun market .

The well organised vandals built a wooden bridge across the river in the bush through which they get to the ‘depot’ to steal fuel. Hundreds of Jerry cans filled with stolen fuel and cars loaded with Jerry cans were seen along the road when Sunday Vanguard visited the village. There  was a police check point nearby.  Many travellers expressed shock when news filtered in that the vandals made use of the police ‘parking space’ in the night in the process of carrying out their operations.

It was reliably gathered that pipeline vandalisation had been on going in the area for a long time before security men raided the village and arrested 28 suspected oil thieves who were mostly youths and artisans . It was gathered that a herbalist, a pastor as well as a young woman who claimed to have just been divorced by her former husband were among the suspects.   The raid, executed by men of Nigerian Army from 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta and those of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence in Ogun State, followed a tip-off by some of the villagers.
Speaking after conducting journalists round the area, the commanding officer, David  Ahmadu, described the pipeline vandals’ action as economic sabotage . Also speaking at the scene, Ogun State Commander of NSCDC, Mr. Akinwande Aboluwaye, disclosed that  28 persons were arrested while seven assorted vehicles, 363 Jerry cans, a hose as well as some substances believed to be charms were part of the items recovered.
Meanwhile, some of the suspects caused a stir when they mentioned one Sergeant Adamu, believed to be attached to a police station in Ogere, as one of their sponsors. One of the suspects who gave his name as Monday Bitrus, 20, from Katsina State, said at least five vandals were working for Adamu. He claimed to have joined the business two months ago. Another suspect, Ibrahim Wasiu, 22, said, “Before my arrest, I could count five to six policemen who were working with us”.
Meanwhile, some of the villagers expressed concern over their health following the pollution of their farms and source of drinking water by the activities of the pipeline vandals.
The river in the village was said to have been polluted following the spillage of fuel into it.

BBA Update- Beverly Osu Exposes More Of Her Dirty S£x Secrets-

Young, spontaneous and excessive are words Big Brother Africa fans relate easily to her. Her stories elicit taunts and laughter from Nigerian viewers. Many waive her off, preferring to call her ‘a disgrace to Nigeria’, without a second thought.
But that is what Beverly Ada Osu has brought upon herself, going into the finale of Africa’s biggest reality TV show. She has given no one reason to think or speak otherwise.
And she has revealed more of her dirty secrets again:

Being real?
Beverly found herself on the wrong side of a love triangle early in the game. Many gave her the benefit of doubt when Ugandan basketballer, Isaac ‘LK4’ Lugude decided to play a fast one on her and South African model Koketso Modibo. But many failed to take that as a hint.
She moved on to Ethiopian student, Bimp, after being shipped off to the Diamond House from the Ruby House. She didn’t need his permission to share his bed: She latched onto him like a leech for her daily survival. But Bimp’s avowed commitment to his girlfriend ensured that he kept the lines of friendship very clear. When South Africa’s Angelo Collins connected with Beverly at the party zone, it was a case of two housemates finding love on the rebound; and that love which Beverly shares with the dance instructor has seen her throw caution to the winds. After two near mishaps, Beverly finally let go last Friday in Biggie’s bathtub. She became the fourth female Chasemate to have s£x on live TV, following closely in the footsteps of Betty, Selly and Cleo. Her many exaggerations.

Beverly made ears twinge earlier when she revealed that she was expelled from secondary school. Then she spoke about a ‘thing’ with singer 2Shortz and tongues wagged more. The singer’s rebuttal of any links with her made people have a rethink. Could Beverly be making up her stories? Not long after many discerning fans began to pick holes in her stories. Funny enough, she told many of them to housemates without bothering if she was over-stepping boundaries of decency, tact, fact and truth.“In Nigeria, I can be walking past a market, and a market woman will stone me,” Bev told Chasemates last week Friday. She claimed a 42-year-old man wanted to marry her after meeting her just for a day, just to buttress an earlier statement:

“My mum used to tell me that the guy I will marry, I won’t date for long.”
While confirming that she dropped out of Babcock University, she raised viewers eyebrows with two blatant lies: “I went to the most expensive school in Nigeria. I was a first-class material before dropping out of school, not because I don’t have the brain.” Many can easily attest to the fact that Igbinedion University’s fees dwarf that of Babcock and many a first-class student can spell difference without blinking.

If you still care you can read through these random sensational picks: “Flirting is in my genes,” she told Angelo. “I have over 16 Bibles,” she also told housemates. She claimed that popular singer Omawumi Megbele was her best friend. That was after she let out that a journey from Nigeria to Ghana by road took between 2-3hours. For Beverly, the Nigeria naira exchanges at a N100 to $1: “I told him [one of her ex boyfriends] that I would charge N100,000, that’s about a $1,000!”

Her loose tongue
Beverly’s stories have no boundaries and respect. “My grandmother speaks Ibo and doesn’t speak English very well. She is an illiterate!” Her mother’s dealings in life are in the open. From revealing that her 52-year-old mother carried drugs, she claimed that she was also an alaiye (mother of street urchins), and spoke boldly of how her mother took one young man to the cleaners with the help of her brothers. Hmmm…

She told Elikem on Monday: “My first boyfriend was Frank Okosa. He was 18 and in SS2, I was 15 in SS3. He was the first to have s£x with me.” She went ahead to reel out a list of her many boyfriends after Okosa: CJ, Nosa (32yrs), Rukkie (35yrs), Special (32yrs) and Curtis (28yrs). To justify her many men, she gave a lame excuse: “All my ex were over-protective and they took me for granted.” If she had stopped there it would have been very unlike her. But she dropped another bombshell for Elikem, the listening ear: “I can’t make love except I am high.”

On Wednesday, Beverly still wanted to have a say, as long as any housemate made a comment. So, when Namibia’s Dillish Matthews disclosed that her mother’s birthday was August 14, Beverly jumped in, “my mum’s birthday is tomorrow.”

Beverly’s many tales coupled with her bathtub escapade with Angelo is not doing her any favours with the fans. But if she can avoid the possible eviction nomination list next week, she will be in the annals of Big Brother Africa history books as the only Chasemate who made the grand finale without being nominated for 11weeks. If her name comes up next week, it would be safe to say even at this time that she may never make it to the finale, Nigerian or not

See Wahala Tenant Get Shot For Having Affair With Landlord’s Wife

36-year-old, Waheed Oyatunde, recently escaped death after he was shot in the thigh by his landlord identified as Mr Latunji over his affair with the landlord’s wife.

Latunji owns a block of flats at Ketu Adie Owe area of Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, which he let out to tenants. Oyatunde, a native of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, moved into Mr. Latunji’s house about three years ago after he completed his youth service and got employment with an Agbara, Ogun State-based multinational company.

The landlord is a member of the vigilance group in the area. Latunji’s wife, Ireti, runs a canteen in Agbara where Oyatunde works.

Oyatunde, a bachelor, always gave the landlord’s wife a ride in his car to Agbara every morning since his office is close to the woman’s canteen. This he was doing with the blessing and approval of the landlord. Ireti is said to have been married to the landlord for six years but is yet to be blessed with the fruit of the womb.

Trouble started in the Latunji family sometime in April, 2013 when it was reported that Oyatunde and Mrs. Latunji were dating. When news of the amorous relationship with his wife got to Mr. Latunji, he confronted his tenant with the rumour.

According to neighbours, when Mr. Latunji confronted Oyatunde with the allegation that he was dating his wife, the matter almost degenerated into an exchange of fisticuffs between the landlord and his tenant until some elders in the area intervened.

Since then, Oyatunde has stopped giving the woman daily morning rides to Agbara. Mr. Latunji’s wife, however, did not take kindly to being accused of dating her husband’s tenant. She reported the mater to her in-laws, who prevailed on her husband to put the allegations behind him.

However, according to neighbours, even though Oyatunde had stopped taking his landlord’s wife to Agbara in his car, the rumour mill was still agog with allegations of an amorous relationship between Oyatunde and his landlord’s wife.

The story was that the bachelor was always seen with his landlord’s wife at some hotels in parts of Lagos State, especially on weekends. The bubble finally burst on Saturday, July 20, 2013, when Mrs. Latunji informed her husband that she would be travelling with her friend to Ekiti State for a burial ceremony.

A day before that fateful Saturday, Mr. Latunji had reportedly called his wife’s friend to confirm their purported movement to Ekiti, which the woman confirmed. But it later turned out that the Ekiti trip was a hoax after all.

The landlord’s wife left home early on Saturday morning for the purported weekend trip. Her suspicious husband hired three hoodlums to trail her movement. The three hoodlums rode on two motorcycles behind the bus the woman boarded from Lusada junction to Agbara. It was reported that the woman also boarded another bus from Agbara to Mile 2 area of Lagos State and the ‘spies’ still rode behind the bus the woman boarded.

Eventually, Mrs. Latunji reportedly found her way to a hotel in Surulere area in the heart of Lagos State. It was reported that Oyetunde’s car was also found in the parking lot of the hotel. The hired ‘spies’ promptly informed their client on telephone of the development.

An enraged Mr. Latunji left home and headed for the hotel in Lagos. A couple of hours later, he arrived at the hotel and he told the receptionist he was on appointment with owner of the Hyundai car parked at the lot.

A waiter at the hotel, who spoke with Saturday Mirror on condition of anonymity, continued the story, “When the man came that Saturday morning, he approached the boys at the reception that he wanted to see the owner of the car whose plate number he wrote for them.

When asked to call him on his mobile phone, the man claimed that the visitor’s mobile phone was switched off. So, the boys felt that he was a genuine visitor and one of them chose to take him to the room where the visitor lodged.

“When the boy knocked on the door, the visitor came to open the door. And when he did, he was shocked to see his landlord standing right in front of the door.

The landlord’s wife was on the bed sleeping. That was when trouble started.” Mr. Latunji forced his way into the room and aimed a stool at his wife.

But Oyatunde and the hotel attendant prevented Mr. Latunji from hitting his wife with the stool. The noise from the room soon attracted other workers of the hotel to the scene. After much persuasion, Mr. Latunji was whisked out of the hotel and he left for his house.

Both Oyatunde and Ireti hurriedly left the hotel. The woman has not shown her face back home since then. Knowing that the game was up, Oyatunde went to his apartment in Latunji’s house on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, apparently to move his belongings out of the house.

That was the opportunity Latunji had been waiting for. Once Oyatunde opened the door to his apartment and started packing his property, Latunji burst into the apartment and engaged Oyatunde in a fight.

The brawling men were soon separated by neighbours, only for Latunji to rush into his apartment and emerge moments later with a loaded gun. He aimed at Oyatunde’s thigh and pulled the trigger.

A neighbour, who pled anonymity, said Oyatunde was lucky to have lived to tell the story. “The landlord could have killed the man. But we thank God that did not happen,” the neighbour said. Oyatunde was rushed to an undisclosed hospital. The landlord has since fled his house with a 10-year-old son he had from another relationship.

Saturday Mirror could not get Ogun State Police Command spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi to confirm the story. A source at the Eleweran office of the command claimed that the matter was reported but that he had no details of it.
