International singer, Akon is still in Nigeria having a swell time.

The Konvict Music boss was earlier today sighted on a boat cruise with the Nigerian actress, Omoni Oboli and billionaire business man, Tony Elumelu.

Akon has been in Nigeria for about 48 hours and he has attended a couple of events. He spoke at the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme. He also met with former Lagos Governor, Bola Tinubu at his residence and last night, he turned up for the reopening of Quilox tagged Quilox season 3....

Nigerian rapper, Remilekun Khalid Safaru popularly called Reminisce lost his father, Alhaji A.A Safaru earlier today, August 1, 2015.

According to Islamic rites, we can confirm to you that the remains of Late Alhaji Safaru has been buried at his hometown of Ajilete, Yewa South LGA in Ogun state at 4pm.

Why I Removed Checkpoints From Highways – IGP Solomon Arase

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase has explained why he ordered the removal of police checkpoints on highways. He said it was aimed at reducing bribery and corruption.

Speaking during one of his routine visits to commands during which he holds security briefs with the commissioners, Arase said that such roadblocks encouraged corruption among some of his officers who collect bribes from commuters on the highway.

The IGP, who was at the FCT Command, said that such act only reduced officers of the Police Force to mere beggars and had also brought the image of the force to disrepute in the past.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, Mr Wilson Inalegwu, however, appealed to the IGP to create more commands within the FCT.

According to him, the current population of the capital city has overstretched the FCT Police Command.
