What A Pity: Richest African Woman Lost Her Position In Forbes List Of 21 Richest Nigerians

Forbes magazine has released a ranking of the 21 richest Nigerians. Surprisingly, the richest woman in Africa, Folorunsho Alakija, who possesses $600 million (N97 billion) is missing from the list.

According to journal, the value of shares held in quoted companies, size and market share of their companies, number of companies they own and its assumed value and the impact of the companies on the Nigerian economy were the yardstick used in compiling the list.
Folorunsho Alakija, Forbes magazine reports, started her career in the mid 1970s as a secretary at the now-defunct International Merchant Bank of Nigeria but in the 1980s she moved to the fashion industry. However, Alakija's biggest break came in oil. In 1993 former Nigerian President Ibrahim Babangida awarded her company, Famfa Oil, an oil prospecting license which went on to become OML 127/ Famfa Oil owned a 60% stake in the block until 2000 when the Nigerian government acquired a 50% interest in the block without duly compensating the company. Famfa Oil challenged the acquisition in court, and this year, the Nigerian Supreme Court reinstated the 50% stake to Famfa Oil.

Female Police Officer Assaulted And Stripped Naked In Public

According to reports, a female police officer was yesterday attacked and almost stripped naked by a dreaded wealthy man.

The police officer, Inspector Tochukwu Offoegbu was allegedly on duty when the the ‘big man,’ who owns a park in Onitsha, approached her, allegedly telling her that he would facilitate her removal from Onitsha as he did to one Archibong.

She then demanded to know what she did that would warrant her removal, so he reportedly slapped her for questioning him. Eyewitness also revealed that his boys allegedly tore the female officer’s uniform, leaving her almost naked.

‘’She ran for her life into the Police post to avoid the peering eyes of the public before the Area Commander Benjamin Nwordu asked all of them to come to the area police station, Onitsha.

‘’That man cannot be arrested because last time he slapped the Commissioner of police because of park matters and so the governor closed the park and now, it is an Inspector. I fear,” the eyewitness narrated.

It was alleged that this same man slapped the Commissioner of Police last year.

Man Arrested For Branding His Name On His Girlfriend’s Private Parts Using A Hot Object

A man was reportedly arrested last week for branding his initials on his girlfriend’s vaginal area.

Police say, 49-year-old Christopher Jackson from Arizona, allegedly used a branding tool and a butane torch to burn the initials “CJ” onto his girlfriend while she was unconscious.

Although the incident reportedly happened in May, the victim came forward just recently claiming she was too scared to come before.

According to court records, Jackson asked his girlfriend to go out dancing after a baseball game. When his girlfriend said she was too tired, Jackson allegedly offered her pills to stay awake, but she ended up passing out.

The victim believes she was drugged on purpose. She awoke in severe pain in Jackson’s bed. She told police that Jackson had “bragged” to her that he’d done that to other girlfriends in the past, and explained that he wanted to do the same thing to her because “her v**ina was his,” court documents state.

Police searched Jackson’s home and allegedly found his butane torch and brand.
Jackson was booked into jail on a charge of aggravated assault with serious physical injury.

WICKED:Prostitute Mother Killed Her Baby With Rat Poison In Katsina

A 4-day-old baby boy has been gruesomely murdered by his own mother who fed him with a N40 rat poison. Binta Shuaibu, 20, conspired with her friend, Hindatu Umar, 27, to commit the dastardly act in Dan Amarya village, Danja Local Government Area of Katsina State. The mother and her co-conspirator are now answering to the wicked act in police custody.

What could make a mother willfully kill her own baby? The suspect, Binta tells her story to Sunday Sun: “I was born in Layin-Ruwa, Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State. I got married 11years ago and my husband, Inusa later forced me to divorce him. I have only one son, Aminu for him.

“After the divorce, I decided to go into prostitution. The money I got from prostitution is what I use to feed my father in the village. My father had divorced my mother because my mother begged him to allow me to return to my former husband, but my father rejected the advice. My father divorced my mother because of that.

“While engaged in prostitution, I suddenly had an unwanted pregnancy, which I did not terminate. I was able to conceal the pregnancy and successfully had the baby boy delivered in my room.

“The ward head, Maiunguwa in the village where I was doing prostitution had warned all prostitutes not to have unwanted pregnancy, and that anyone who got pregnant must relocate to any nearby village to deliver and care for the baby there.

“But because of the warning by village head, I was at a loss to what to do with the baby and my calling as a prostitute.

“My good friend, Hindatu Umar suggested that since we do not want to stop prostitution, we should kill the baby. We both went into the street and bought rat poison for N40 and used it to kill the baby.”

Asked how the baby was actually killed, Binta said, “It was about midnight that the act was carried out. I told my friend, Hindatu that I would not want to witness the killing of my own child.

“Hindatu was the one who fed my baby with the poison. She forced him to drink the poison. When she wanted to do it, I went into the other room and took a drug, Valium 5 and slept off. I woke up to see that my baby was dead. We wrapped the dead body with clothes.”

News of the heinous crime soon filtered out and the partners in crime were apprehended.

Binta spoke further, “Unknown to us, the ward head had heard about the news that my baby was killed. He quickly went to Danja Police Station, reported the incident and we were arrested by the police.”

In her own confession, Hindatu Umar said, “I am a prostitute. My friend, Binta delivered a baby boy and we have a law by the ward head in the village of Danja that he doesn’t want any unwanted pregnancy and that any of us prostitutes who gets pregnant should leave the village and deliver the baby in the next village.

“We still enjoy our job as prostitutes and so, we both decided to kill the baby. I suggested to her to kill the baby. We went into the street and bought local rat killer and by midnight I gave the baby the poison and he drank the poison and died instantly. I took the container and dropped it in the toilet. Later the news spread and policemen from Danja Police Station arrested us.”

"The Kind Of Man I Will Like To Marry" - 2013 Miss Nigeria, Ezinne Opens Up

In an interview, the newly crowned damsel and graduate of law from Abia State University disclosed that her decision to work with rape victims stemmed from her experience last year after her close friend fell victim.

“It was a very touching experience for me. My very good friend was raped last year and you can only imagine the trauma she went through. That made me realise how close it could get, how vulnerable we all are. It could happen to anybody including me; rape is the trending evil right now. I was there by her side all through and I watched her pass through it all. I am happy she is okay now and has gotten over the traumatic experience."
“It’s going to be a total campaign against sexual violence in Nigeria and right now, we are at the drawing board. We are looking at talking to victims and creating awareness about sexual violence. We will be talking to parents, their kids and all stakeholders. Because of the stigma attached to rape, we are also working on an emergency help line, which will provide counseling for victims. We’ll be talking about rape and how to avoid it,” she said.

On her saddest moment:
According to Akudo, her saddest moment since she became queen was losing her close friend who died a few weeks after she was crowned. “I lost a friend of mine a while ago. He was my campus pastor. His name was Emmanuel Akibi. It affected me a great deal because we were very close. We were friends throughout my days at Abia State University (ABSU). His death was a big shock for me,” she lamented.

Her love life:
Beauty queens are not expected to talk about their love lives on the pages of newspapers. However, Akudo painted a picture of her ideal man. “I have not lost any of my friends because of my new crown, but I want to keep issues about my love life private. I love a guy that’s passionate about serving God. Any guy that doesn’t really love God can’t love a lady. I am impressed about guys who are God fearing. I am not a fan of very fair guys. I’m down with chocolate skinned guys,” she concludes with a soft laugh.

Rick Ross Has Lost So Much Weight Due To Dieting And Exercise (See his new look )

Rick Ross may have decided to shed his trademark fat for muscle, and seizures in the past may have been a contributing factor.

Ricky Rozay has reportedly been losing a lot of weight since last year and has so far dropped close to a 100 pounds.

Sources inside the MMG camp told Urban Islandz that Ricky Rozay dropped the weight by eating healthy and regular exercise.

“Eating healthier, you know cutting out the fry chicken and the fatty foods and working out a couple times per week,” the source said.

Rick Ross had multiple seizures in 2011 that sent him to the hospital while on tour. The Maybach Music Group honcho blames lack of sleep for the seizures.

My father also fathered my son- Lady confesses

Still dazed, Queen thought of calling her mother and telling her the result of her father’s test but she changed her mind immediately. Her mother would just make things worse by alerting the entire family. That would spell doom for the entire process of bone marrow donation from her dad. She decided to hold her peace and wait for him to come back from his trip.
Her father, Chief Calistus Meena cut short his trip when he was told that his attention was urgently needed in connection with the health of his grandson. Queen had agreed with the doctor that there was no need explaining the details of the test and its implication to her dad before the operation. When he visited the hospital in answer to the doctor’s summons, Meena was informed that his bone marrow could save his grandson’s life. The doctor also refused to entertain questions from him, informing him that the operation needed to be done immediately.
Meena, though reluctant, but not given time to change his mind, went into the theatre and had his bone marrow extracted for transfusion into his grandson.
Queen allowed everything to settle since her son needed to recuperate fully. Her father also travelled about three weeks after the bone marrow extraction, he was barely fit to travel but he needed to go back to the business that took him abroad; his personal doctor accompanied him on the trip.
Queen’s mother, Tina Akensuah, had raised eyebrows when her husband cut short his trip and rushed back for the operation.  She did not understand why he had to be the one donating the bone marrow but the answer she got from the doctor was that it was the rarest of miracles. Queen refrained from discussing the process with her mom or anybody else even after her son’s operation.   She decided that she had to sort this matter out with her dad, privately, before getting any other person involved.
It was not until two months later, that she had the opportunity of having a discussion with her father.
It was a Saturday; her mother had travelled to a nearby city to attend the burial of a friend’s father and a patron of their women league. Queen was alone at home with her dad. She did not need to start the conversation, it turned out that Meena was dying to say something as well.
“The whole bone marrow scenario still amazes me. But I am happy that I was around in time to save the life of the child, to think that none of his father’s relatives could be relied upon to provide a bone marrow for him!”  he said.
“My thoughts exactly. I am convinced you know the answer to that puzzle father.  I think you have something to say to me and I have been waiting for the past two months to hear it,” she said, staring intently at him.
“What are you waiting to hear?” her father asked her.
“You could only be a match for my son, Bobby, if you are a member of his paternal family. It is what my in-laws have been whispering behind closed doors since they discovered that none of Bobby’s uncles could donate to him. The doctor is sure that it is too much of a miracle for you, my father to emerge with a match for my son’s bone marrow. So, I have been waiting for the right opportunity to ask you what happened,” she said, still boring holes into his face with her eyes.
“That is scandalous. Your boyfriend died the same period your child was conceived!”  Meena growled. “And he visited here shortly before that.”
“Yes. I know but Paul and I did not sleep together shortly before his death. He wanted me to be his ‘virgin’ before the wedding.’’ Queen informed him.
“But it is ridiculous for you to think I am the father of my grandchild,” her father said, attempting a bold face.
“Well, that is not a problem at all; a DNA test should solve the riddle.  Are you ready for a DNA test daddy? I can tell mom,” Queen said.
At the mention of his wife’s name, Meena reacted in a strange manner; he fell on his knees before his daughter.
“Queen my dear, please listen to what I am about to say because right now, my life and the entire fortune of this family lies in your hand. With one word, you could bring everything crashing down. It is true that I slept with you, it was only once, the intention was not to get you pregnant.
“It happened the night before Paul visited to formally announce preparations for your engagement. I did not want to do it but the sect said it was necessary because I had come to the end of my cycle and I needed that to continue the cycle, otherwise we would  lose  everything we had worked for; this house, our entire business, everything!” he confessed.
“What happened to me that night, how come I have no recollection of you sleeping with me?” she asked.    “You knew but you forgot everything as soon as it happened because of the charms I used. That is not even the issue; it is very crucial that you don’t breathe a word of this to anyone. Please,” her father begged.
That night, she moved out of her father’s house.  She also did not tell anybody what transpired between them.  But she had a very convenient explanation to give to her mom about her movement, satisfied with the explanation, her mum did not probe further.
Two years later, Chief Meena died of a heart attack; his will contained a codicil, where he left a large bulk of his wealth to Bobby and instructed that his wife be appointed the administrator of the estate until the boy turned 18.

Yvonne Nelson is not my girlfriend —Dammy Krane

Only 19, hip-hop act Dammy Krane has made his presence felt in the music industry. In this interview, he tells how he ran away from school to concentrate on music
When did you discover your talent in music?
I started singing when I was six, joined the toddlers’ choir in church when I was only eight.  I was doing back up songs and dancing for other artistes at the age of 11. Professionally, I started music when I got signed on to Tuface’s label, Hypertek.

How supportive were your parents?
They were not supportive; besides, I had not seen my mum for 10 years. She lives in the United States of America where she is an event manager and manager to some Fuji artistes. I am from a polygamous family, the only child of my mum but  I was brought up by my grandmother.

Did you lobby Tuface to sign you on his label?
No, I did not. About two years ago, there was a party at a hotel in Victoria Island where a number of artistes were invited. One of my friends Iyad, a white guy was also invited so he took me along.  Iyad later invited me over to a corner where he sat with Tuface.  Tuface mentioned that  he had listened to some of the collabos I did with other artistes and also watched one of my performances. He then asked if I was signed on to any label. Of course I was not and Tuface signed me unto Hypertek.

You were doing your own thing before Hypertek…
Of course I was. When  I was in Redeemers University, I was a local champion there. I used to do a lot of free styling and collabos. I had a song ‘Uni Girls’ that was popular in a lot of universities. It was a Fuji pop song. The buzz created by the music got me a job as the face of Dynamix magazine.

With the kind of music you do, are you not scared of incurring the wrath of the authorities of your university?
They don’t support entertainment and that was why I left. I had to leave so that I won’t be rusticated. Everybody in school loved me and I was in my first year studying microbiology. I even ran away from home, though I am back. I was living and working in different studios and was what you would classify as a studio rat. Leaving school was a risk I had to take and I hope to go back someday to study business management this time around.

You must have been influenced by bad friends…
I was 17 then and now I am 19. I don’t think I have ever had bad friends and that is why I don’t have tattoos or piercings. I don’t even think I will be getting any in the future because of the kind of discipline I had growing up. If you remember the kind of home you are from, you won’t want to engage in certain things. I don’t drink or smoke either. I am naturally hyperactive .

Your genre of music is quite different…
I call it 21st century music and it’s a fusion of Fuji, hip hop and R&B. Some people call it concoction music but I don’t mind.

Being a Hypertek artiste must have given you some kind of leverage…
Yes,  it has changed things because Tuface is a legend and that is how people see him. For him to have chosen me shows that there is something I have that others don’t. Some people think that I am riding on his back to fame but it is not so and that is why you don’t see me and Tuface together. He leaves me to do my own thing. He even tells me that without Hypertek, I would still have made it. That statement makes me want to do things more on my own. He once told me that he signed me on because he saw himself in me. That is very encouraging.

How did you come about the name Dammy Krane?
My real name is Oyindamola Johnson-Hunga. My mum is from Lagos State while my dad is from Ado-Odo Ota in Ogun state. I was with my brother one day and he asked me what I wanted to achieve as an artiste and I said I want to uplift the industry. He just started calling me Dammy the Caterpillar and later he changed it to Dammy Krane.

There is so much competition. How are you coping?
I don’t believe in competition so I don’t even think about it. I believe that once you are in the industry, your focus should be how to make yourself relevant. My success in a short while can only be attributed to God, my family and my fans.

Which  song shot you into the limelight?
That must be my first song, ‘My dear.’ That song was inspired by the fact that I had been doing a lot of collabos and people were asking for a single.

Should we be expecting an album from you soon?
An album is dependent on the demand I get. Right now, I am trying to create a buzz for my music so hopefully, I am looking at towards the end of the year or sometimes thereafter.

Who are those you look up to apart from Tuface?
I look up to the likes of Dbanj, Psquare and KWAM1.

What don’t you like about being in the limelight?

Being in the limelight is a challenge in itself and as an artiste have to be careful about how you handle thing you because there are so many uncertainties. Personally, I have resolved that when life throws me a lemon, I catch it and make lemonade out of it.

Don’t you consider your age a challenge?
I don’t think I am that young. Judging by what obtains in western countries, I am even too old. In this industry, the younger you are, the better. You also need to be intelligent to make it in this industry.

How do you handle female fans?
I grew up with women; my managers are women, so, I am always with women.

You have a unique way of dressing. Is that a marketing strategy?
That is just me. I don’t think it’s a deliberate act. I dress to look good and make my fans happy.

If you were not doing music, what do you think you would have been doing?
Maybe I would have been an actor. I really can’t tell because I have never given life outside music a thought.

Does that explain your relationship with Yvonne Nelson?
That was just a rumour from mischief makers. Yes, she is my friend but we have never been lovers. We met on the set of a movie and we took a picture together. People saw the picture and decided to draw their conclusions from that. I was surprised but not happy. I was on tour when the story broke and I was slightly distracted.

Your single ‘Condom Sir’ generated some controversy…
A lot of people think the song is lewd but it is a safe sex campaign. I am only preaching safe sex .

Gucci Mane Arrested For Possession Of Weed And Gun, Threatened Cops

Rapper Gucci Mane was arrested early Saturday morning for a number of alleged infractions, including threatening police officers and gun possession.

Gucci was taken into custody at 12:05 a.m. this morning after an incident in which one of his friends complained to police about his erratic behavior.

The friend waved down the cops to help out (with what, it’s unclear), but when they approached, Gucci Mane began “cursing and threatening them.”

Probably not a smart move under any circumstances, but especially not if you’re carrying marijuana and a handgun on your person, which he apparently was.

Mane was therefore arrested for carrying concealed weapon, disorderly conduct and marijuana possession. He was also hospitalized as a precaution.

Earlier this week, a profane and epically long Gucci Mane Twitter rant made headlines, with the rapper bragging about his sexual exploits and more.
