Grand Jury Indicts Rapper Mystikal on Rape and Kidnapping Charges


Mystikal has been indicted on first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping, with a bond set at $3 million, KSLA is reporting.

Recall that the Danger rapper whose real name is Michael Tyler, was sought-after by the police after a woman reported an incident which is alleged to have happened on October 22, 2016. Evidence collected from the scene matched the rapper and a certain 26-year-old called Averweone Holman. Mystikal disappeared for three days, stirring worries that he may have committed suicide, until August 21, when he turned himself in.

His co-conspirator, Holman was arrested on August 18 by U.S. Marshalls, and a third person, Tenichia Wafford, who tried to get the rape victim to retract her story, fled. She was later arrested by the police.

Now, all three persons are in police custody, and have all been indicted on charges against them. Holman is being held on a $3 million bond for charges of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping, while Wafford is being held on a $500,000 bond–she is charged with obstruction of justice.

If convicted of this crime, it will be the second time Mystikal would be going to prison. He had previously served six years in jail for sexual assault and extortion after a 2003 conviction. He was released in 2010.

Abuja Court Declares IPOB a Terrorist Group, Bans Group from Nigeria

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday declared the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) group led by the embattled Nnamdi Kanu a terrorist organisation.

The court while delivering its ruling on an ex-parte application filed by the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) on behalf of the federal government, also proscribed the group and restrained all members of the public from promoting or participating in the activities of the group.

The AGF had in his prayers before the court asked the Federal High Court to rule that IPOB activities amounted to acts of terrorism and illegality. The AGF similarly urged the court to proscribe IPOB and restrain all citizens from joining the group or participating in its activities.

Wednesday’s ruling comes after a controversial declaration by the Nigerian military last week that IPOB was a militant terrorist organisation.

The announcement of the Defence Headquarters was then followed by a statement from the South-East Governors Forum that IPOB had been proscribed in all five states of the south-east region.

The military declaration and the statement by the governors was immediately met with criticism from many legal practitioners who argued that due process was not followed. To them, such declaration and proscription could only be done by the court as contained in the Terrorism Prohibition Act of 2011 as amended in 2013.

Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Monday also described as unconstitutional the designation of IPOB as a terrorist organisation by the military and its proscription by the south-east governors.

IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu has not been seen in public since an upheaval in Abia state last week which led to the death of a policeman. A number of IPOB members were also arrested for murder and other criminal charges.

Kanu is already facing a treasonable felony charge and is presently on bail even though many believe he had flouted his bail conditions. The federal government has also asked the court to revoke Kanu’s bail and remand him in prison until the conclusion of his trial.

With Wednesday’s ruling, the road ahead looks quite dreary for Kanu and his secessionist group.

Woman’s Fine For Peeing In Public Sparks Sexism Row In Amsterdam

A case of a Dutch woman who was fined €90 (£80; $105) for urinating in an alleyway in the centre of Amsterdam has turned into a debate about sexism.

It was gathered that Geerte Piening, 23, was unable to reach a public toilet after a night out in 2015 and relieved herself in a backstreet in the city.

BBC reported that she was spotted by three police officers and fined €90 (£80) for the offence, known as “wildplassen” in Dutch.

However she decided to contest the issue due to the fact that the city has only three public toilets that can be used by women while there are 35 public urinals for men.
“At the time I really didn’t want to get involved in a discussion,” she said. “But the next day I thought, just a minute, I’m going to fight this.”
The judge, in this case a man, told her she should have used one of the men’s facilities rather than resorting to urinating in public, prompting a flurry of scornful tweets containing pictures highlighting the obvious difficulty women face trying to use a urinal.

The judge also claimed women were less likely to use public toilets and said Ms Piening was only the second woman he had seen court for this offence.

The judge further likened the offence to throwing litter on the street rather than in a bin, prompting one commentator to point out that banana peels or chocolate bar wrappers could be stashed in a pocket and dumped at any point in a gender-neutral bin.

Ms Piening insisted she had used the alleyway only as a last resort and said public facilities for women in other European capitals were far superior.
“Isn’t it embarrassing for a tourist city like Amsterdam that women have nowhere to go?” she told the AD newspaper,
“It wasn’t my intention that this would become an enormous feminist thing. On the other hand, it’s good it’s being addressed.”
The judge acknowledged there were fewer facilities for women but said the council was not obliged to provide them.

Women were less likely to use them anyway, he added, noting this was a rare case.
“You are only the second woman I’ve seen in court for this,” he was quoted as saying.
More than 5,000 protesters are set to join a demonstration on Friday in response to the judge’s suggestions that women should have to use men’s facilities.

Writing on her Instagram, the mum of five kids showed how unbothered she is with the trending scandal, and she thanked fans who have reached out to her since the scandal surfaced.

“Ladies and gentlemen I’ve heard you loud and clear, the advises, the consolation, the pity, the hurt you feeling on my behalf, most of all the betrayal,” she began in the post, adding, “But let’s look at this on the positive side. Kanye West And Jay Z Reportedly Planning On Meeting Face-To-Face Soon

According to TMZ, the meeting should be going down soon too.

There's been whispers of this happening over the past few weeks, but it finally looks like the Kanye West and Jay Z feud might be coming to an end soon. According to TMZ, the two moguls are planning on meeting face-to-face soon to squash their beef.

Sources close to the two told TMZ that their lawyers have been trying to settle a $3.5 million dispute Kanye has with Tidal. As previously reported, Kanye sent a letter to Tidal earlier this year stating his contract with them was over because they didn't live up to their end of the deal. Specifically, Kanye says he didn't get advances and bonuses that totaled $3.5 million dollars.

TMZ reports the Kanye and Jay have not agreed to settle because they both have animosity towards each other. Jay was furious when Kanye called out Beyonce and Blue Ivy at his concert last October, whereas Kanye felt Jay should have cut him a break because that was the time he was melting down and his wife had been recently robbed at gunpoint. Apparently, none of this comes from a financial stance as $3.5 million isn't much to either of them. It’s all a respect and pride thing amongst the Watch The Throne brothers.

As the source told TMZ, "The Generals [Kanye and Jay] have to meet face-to-face. When that happens, the resolving the money dispute is a piece of cake." 

Kanye is reportedly up for the meeting as previously reported and Jay is also inclined to meet. It shouldn't be hard to make happen either since Jay lives in the Bel-Air mansion and the two now live right down the street for one another.

TMZ also say the meeting should be going down soon, and when it does all the money & Tidal disputes will be fixed at that time. Hopefully it happens within the coming weeks. We need these two back together for the betterment of the culture.

A 7.1-magnitude earthquake which occurred in Mexico on Tuesday has left at least 149 people dead. The quake hit the country’s capital, Mexico city and surrounding states – Puebla, Mexico and Morelos.

Images from the natural disaster show a lot of devastation and maybe graphic, viewers’ discretion is therefore advised.

Mexico’s President Enrique Peña Nieto said 22 bodies were found in the debris of an elementary school in Mexico City that collapsed due to the earthquake and that at least 30 children were still missing as at Tuesday night.

“We are facing a new national emergency,” Peña Nieto told citizens earlier on his first address following the earthquake.

Many residents of the capital city and neighbouring states are also believed to have been trapped under the collapsed buildings and rescuers combed through rubble through the night looking for survivors.

Thousands of soldiers, rescuers and civilians, including college students also worked side by side to dig through tall piles of rubble after dozens of buildings collapsed.

Some of the rescuers carried away buckets full of debris while others called out the names of those who have been rescued. At moments, rescuers asked for total silence as they tried to hear voices coming from under the debris, reports CNN.
The quake has reportedly left the busiest city in Mexico in chaos as windows buckled and shattered, falling several stories to the ground while thousands of people streamed into the streets running away from buildings and potential gas leaks.

Chris Brown Strikes Settlement in Assault Case

If you remember way back in January of 2016, Chris Brown was being sued for allegedly punching a woman in the face in his Las Vegas hotel room after she took a picture of the singer on her cellphone. While Chris had plans to countersue for false accusations, it turns out that the two parties have finally settled the lawsuit outside court.

According to TMZ, Chris and the woman, Liziane Gutierrez, have settled the case for an undisclosed amount of money. Sources familiar with the negotiations told TMZ that there was some sort of preliminary talk of $70,000, but other sources say that it's way less and nowhere near $70K.
Chris had denied any wrongdoing in the lawsuit saying Liziane was "too ugly" to attend one of his parties. And for what its worth, police never charged Chris with any crime, so it kinda sounds like a money-hungry attempt to get money from Chris, which ultimately worked.

In fact, the woman, Liziana Gutierrez, had been involved in past drama with another male R&B singer, Jason Derulo. Back in August of 2016, TMZ shared a video of Gutierrez complaining to the paparazzi after she wasn't let in Derulo's car outside of a Vegas club. So it's safe to say she was plotting against Chris this whole time. 


IPOB crisis ‘bigger than Boko Haram’-Shettima

Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima has said the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB crisis being spearheaded by Nnamdi Kanu  is bigger than the activities of the deadly terrorist group Boko Haram

No fewer than 20, 000 people are believed to have been killed by Boko Haram since the Islamist sect started its attacks about eight years ago.


According to The Nation,speaking in Owerri on Monday night during a meeting with Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, when he led a truce team of North’s governors to the state, Shettima said the threats posed by the Nnamdi Kanu-led secessionist IPOB to the nation’s survival are far bigger than those posed by Boko Haram.

He said it was for this reason that he had to leave the killings going on in his state behind to join Governor Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto) Simon Lalong (Platueau) Aminu Bello Masari (Katsina) and Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), on visits to Abia, Rivers and Imo, seeking peace.


“Only this morning, 25 people were killed in my state via explosions carried out by three suicide bombers, but I have to be on this mission because of what it means to the nation,” he said
He said: “What we wanted to forestall actually was a mass movement of Nigerians from one part of the country to another. It was a very dangerous signal.
“We equally invite our brothers from the South East to visit some of the northern flash points like Kaduna, Kano and Jos, and together we can talk to our Igbo brothers and sisters there to assure them of the safety of their lives and properties.
“Make or break, this country belongs to all of us. The population of Syria is a paltry 22 million. Only 2 million Syrian refugees are knocking on the doors of Europe and it is causing reverberation. How then do you perceive a situation where 35 million English-speaking Nigerians are knocking on the doors of Europe?
“That is why we have a moral obligation as stakeholders to make things work in this country. We are all part of the leadership challenges we are facing in this country, and none of us can exonerate him or herself from blame.
“Like I said earlier in Aba, the hope of the black man rests not with the hard-thinking South Africans or the obsequious Kenyans who are struggling to be more white than the white men, but with the people of this country.
“If you see an African walking on the streets of London and would not leave the way obsequiously for the white man to pass, you don’t need a soothsayer to tell you that that black man is a Nigerian.
“If we allow this country to implode, up is the Sahara Desert, Niger is already a failed state. The population of Niger is only 11 million while Kano has a population of about 30 million. We can eat up the entire food reserve of Niger Republic within a week.
“Down is the Atlantic Ocean and the tiny countries of Benin Republic, Togo and Senegal. Maybe some of us will migrate to Gambia. The entire food reserves of those tiny West African countries can be exhausted within two weeks.”

Shettima thanked Governor Okorocha for the warm reception he accorded the delegation, saying that they were in the state principally as a delegation of Northern Nigeria governors’ forum to identify with the uncommon leadership exhibited by the governors of the South East sub-region in these trying moments of the nation’s contemporary political history.

Nigerian workers tackle Chinese firm after factory accidents which left them disabled

Two workers of a Chinese factory, WEMPCO, Magboro, Ogun State, have accused the company of not compensating them after factory accidents which led to permanent disability.

The workers, Augustine Okolocha and Goddey Lucky, said they were both working in the nail unit of the factory when their fingers were chopped off by the machines at different times, adding that the management left them to their fate.


While 57-year-old Okolocha said he lost two fingers in February 2017, Lucky said he lost three fingers since April 2014.


Okolocha, an indigene of Ukwachi, in the Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State, said he was producing plates of iron when the machine cut off his fingers.

The father of four, who worked with the company for more than five years, said he was taken to the gate on a forklift before the manager called an ambulance to take him to a hospital in the area.

After spending about a month at the hospital, he said he resumed his duties and was posted to the security unit due to his condition.


“Every worker has a card with a lifespan of two weeks. The card is marked by our boss, Master Fu, and we get paid based on the number of days we work out of the two weeks in the card. On a daily basis, I was getting paid N1,027.
“When I was discharged and returned to the company, I was posted on night duties to the security post. I worked three days in a week. I resumed 7pm and closed 7am.
“There was a time we had a two day public holiday and I was paid N5,000,” he added.

Okolocha said despite the low pay and his condition, his boss  complained that he was cheating the company.

“He said the money I was getting was too much. On June 22, 2017, after marking my card, he said I should go back home and resume on June 28. I obeyed and resumed on that day as he instructed.
“On June 29, he said I should go back home and resume the following Monday to the factory. I refused and wondered why he would expect me to still enter the factory in my condition,” he added.

Okolocha berated the company for the treatment meted out to him and accused the Chinese managers of hiding safety equipment from workers.

“Before now, anytime I am off duty, I would go out for part-time jobs and make money; but now, I am useless and cannot do anything. I want Nigerians to save our youths. There are youths in the company working despite losing their legs and hands. I want my compensation,” he said.

Twenty-five-year-old Lucky, who is an indigene of Sapele, Delta State, said he had barely spent a year in the company when he lost three fingers.

He said although the incident happened since April 8, 2014, the company had not compensated him for his disability.

He said, “I was working on  a machine when my hand was drawn in and by the time I forcefully removed it, three fingers had been lost. I was taken to a hospital where I was treated.
“After my discharge, the company paid me N6,000 every two weeks. But I have told them that I don’t want the payment anymore because it is too small. I have asked them to give me a payoff, but they are saying the insurance company would pay but there was delay with some signings. How long will I wait? It is over three years and nothing is happening.”

The manager of the company, identified only as Gani, said WEMPCO was making efforts to compensate the victims.

He said,
 “There is nobody that has an injury that is abandoned in the company. If you have been treated and discharged from the hospital, can you say you were abandoned? And meanwhile, we would have reported the accident to the insurance company. The only issue is that getting insurance claims could take time.

“Okolocha has his part of the blame. He had resumed and worked for two months when he suddenly wanted to be allowed to stay back at home and be getting paid while doing nothing. Is it that easy? If the request was before resumption, it would have been a different thing.

“He didn’t inform me or anybody when he abandoned his duty and went away. It was when he didn’t receive payment for two weeks that he came to complain to me that his card was not signed. I told him that he had resumed work and was posted to security unit for ease. After he was redeployed and he told me, I pleaded with the boss to allow him to remain in the security unit because  of his condition and the man agreed. But he just decided to go away.
“Most workers are ignorant of certain things. When accidents like these happen, they expect to be paid huge sums of money immediately, not knowing that everything has procedures.”

He promised to go to the company’s head office in Lagos over the insurance claims of the workers.

Two men fight over ownership of 18 year old's five-month-baby in Warri [Photo]

Two men, Ajayi Tosin and Kesiena Tito are presently in contention over ownership of a five-month-old baby, Emmanuel Omkhode Ajayi in Warri, Delta State.

The duo are laying claim to the child delivered by an eighteen-year-old girl.

The matter deepened after Ajayi was allegedly arrested over the weekend following a petition of “Threat to Life” instituted by Kesiena to the Nigeria Police Area Command.


In an exclusive Chat with DAILY POST, Tosin Ajayi, a twenty three year old barber claimed to have cohabited with Blessing Iroroteh since 2015 before she delivered a bouncing boy this year, 2017 in his house.

Ajayi also claimed that his elder sister was responsible for the medical bills after Blessing was delivered of the baby, delivered.

He stressed that he has been catering for her and the baby, including her mother who came to nurse (Omugo) the baby for two months in his house at Nnewi Street, Akah Avenue in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

Ajayi noted that he did the naming as well as dedication ceremony in the presence of her mother who later whisked her (Blessing) away to the home of Kesiena Tito as the owner of the baby.


Ajayi said, “I was at home when Police came to arrest and took me to the Area Command.”
Ajayi alleged that he was forced to say that he was not the father of the baby at the Police Station by Kesiena’s family.

He added that he was even forced to take N100,000, sign an undertaking to forfeit the child by the Kesiena’s family stressing that, “they even said I should swear affidavit” but I rejected it.

Ajayi insisted that he was the owner of the baby boy saying,
“I am the owner of the baby. I don’t want to sell my child. They should go ahead with the DNA but that other man should pay for it.”
In a contrary view, Kesiena Tito claimed to have dated Blessing, mother of the contending baby boy for five years pointing out that they separated ten months ago over an unresolved issue before she was delivered of the baby at Ajayi’s house.

Kesiena who hails from Ophorigbala Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area stated that he has been responsible for education of Blessing all these years.

Kesiena insisted that he is the owner of the child saying,
 “We were dating before for the past five years before she left me for. The baby is my own.”
Blessing Iroroteh stated that she left Kesiena’s house to Ajayi’s house because she felt he (Kesiena)will not accept the pregnancy and the baby.

Blessing also stated that her mother was aware that the child does not belong to Ajayi but she came there to do “Omugo” and partook in the dedication.

DAILY POST gathered, however, that the Police at the Area Command in Warri has ordered that DNA be carried out to ascertain the true owner of the child or that the matter be referred to court.

Melania Trump threathens school with lawsuit over English class billboard

Melania Trump has threatened to take a school to court for using her image on their billboard."Just imagine how far you can go with a little bit of English," reads the advert for the Americki Institut, an English-language school in Croatia.


The US first lady's lawyer said the campaign used her image without consent.She has asked for the billboards to be removed within 24 hours.
The school's Facebook page has been updated with a video of the song "I'm Sorry" by 1960s country star Brenda Lee,BBC reports.

The Institute's founder Brett Campbell told Croatia's Vecernji List he wanted to remind people "how much knowledge is essential for international success".

Nnamdi Kanu ‘abducted, probably killed’ — Lawyer

The lawyer representing the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, says he has not communicated with his client since September 14, when Mr. Kanu’s Abia State home was “invaded” by soldiers.
The lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, was reacting to reports that Mr. Kanu had gone into hiding said “Mr. Kanu has probably been killed”.

Mr. Kanu was last seen in public on September 10, after his supporters clashed with soldiers.

Mr. Ejiofor said Mr. Kanu was abducted, and claimed that reports that his client had gone into hiding were merely aimed at “diverting the attention of the public”.


“I have no doubt whatsoever that stories making round that my Client has fled outside Nigeria, were planted to divert attention from their murderous raid on my client’s house. I made last contact with my client few minutes into the bloody onslaught in his home on the 14th day of September 2017. Till date, I have not established further communication with him.

“The soldiers must have made possible contact with him on this 14th day of September 2017, when they invaded his house on a bloody raid, and by virtue of which position, they should tell the world if he was caught by fire of bullets in the hit of the bloody onslaught or he was arrested alive.

“In all probability, my client may have been killed by the invading soldiers who are now seeking ways to fool the world into believing that he has left the country. My request is that the military should produce my client wherever they kept him and stop diverting attention of the public,” Mr. Ejiofor said.

Nigerian Customs uncovers another container of 475 arms in Apapa

The Tin Can Island Command of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) Tuesday uncovered a container suspected to contain yet another cache of arms imported from Turkey.

This is coming barely a week after the command intercepted a 20-foot container laden with 1,100 pump action rifles.


The container with number, CMAU189817/8 is believed to contain about 475 sets of pump-action riffles reportedly belonging to the same importer of the last one.

Daily Sun quoted a source as saying


“The container is owned by the same importer of the 1,100 guns. After a detailed profiling of the importer ordered by the Area Controller, it was discovered that he still has another container inside the port.
“So, officers were asked to fish out the container for examination. But I don’t know why they are hiding the identity of the importer”, the source hinted.
When contacted, the National Public Relations Officer of the service, Joseph Attah, said a container was suspected and it has not been examined to know what is inside.
“Let’s not speculate about arms, please. A container is being suspected and examination will reveal whatever is inside,” he pleaded.
Recall that just last week ago, operatives of the Tin-Can Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, busted a syndicate that smuggled weapons into the country.

No fewer than 1,100 pump action rifles were loaded in the 20 foot container the gang shipped in.
