Andrew Wommack – Respond To God’s Direction

Topic: Respond To God’s Direction [Wednesday August 30, 2017]

Luke 19:26 “For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.”

Text: Luke 19:26
What was it that this wicked servant didn’t have that caused his master to take back the money he had given him? It wasn’t the tangible money that he had been given. He had kept that laid up in a napkin and he still possessed it. What he was missing and what the other servant had that caused the lord to give this pound to him was faithfulness. Those who are faithful with what God has given them will be given more, and those who are wasteful will have what God has given them taken away and given to another.

Christians will one day stand before the Lord for the purpose of receiving rewards, and all our actions will be revealed, whether they were our own doings or directed by the Spirit of God. Those who were not governed by the Holy Spirit in their actions will see all their good works burned up in that day when we stand before the Lord and He tries our works. Those who acted only under the guidance of the Holy Spirit will find that their works will endure the test and they will receive a reward.

Many people choose to do good things thinking that God will be pleased. But our positive response to God’s direction (faith) is what pleases God (Heb. 11:6). We were created with a purpose and every individual has a God-given plan for his life. We need to let God work in and through us and faithfully fulfill what He has called us to do.

Police Discover Cash In Rectum Of Drug Dealer Upon Arrest

A man was recently arrested by the police following a traffic stop when they found he was carrying an assortment of drugs and a large amount of money. They however got even more surprise upon getting to the station and found the cash had disappeared but $20 bills were falling out of his rectum.

26-year-old Pattreon Stokes, was arrested by a policeman in Florida for speeding in the early hours of the morning last Saturday, cops said in a Facebook post.

During the stop, the officer smelled marijuana and upon searching the car, he found methamphetamine, rock cocaine and heroin. A scale was also recovered from the vehicle.

Police said Stokes was carrying a “small amount of marijuana and a large amount of currency on his person.” They arrested him and brought him to Marion County Jail.

But when they got there, cops said the money they found earlier was gone. Stokes claimed that deputies had already collected it, but “this was certainly not true,” police wrote in the post.

“Detention deputies then noticed something quite unusual…” the post reads. “They observed $20 bills falling from Stokes’ buttocks area.”

In a process cops called “necessary but undesirable” for everyone involved, they found $1,090.00 in U.S. currency hidden in Stokes’ rectum.

“Judging from Stokes’ mug shot, he looks pretty ‘bummed’ about the whole situation,” police joked.

The Facebook post went on to apologise to the “wonderful cashiers” in Marion County, writing that they would understand if cash handlers chose to use gloves.

A seven-month-old child was also found in the front passenger seat of Stokes’ car when he was arrested.

Stokes is charged with smuggling contraband into a detention facility, trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking heroin, possession of cocaine with the intent to sell, manufacture or deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment.

Hatred for my husband made me attempt killing my rival's new born - 17-year old confesses

A 17-year-old housewife has confessed that she attempted murdering her rival’s two-week old baby due to her deep hatred for her husband and his first wife — the baby’s mother.

The suspect, Hindatu Abdullahi, who hails from Wuro Bogga village, Duguri District of Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, said she had been married to her husband, Abdullahi Ori, for two years.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen said she was forced into the marriage at age 15 by her father.

In her words:

“My husband and I have been married for two years now and we have a child. He married me as his second wife. He used to love me dearly, but he suddenly started maltreating me.
“He would beat me, insult me and abuse me at the slightest provocation. I reported his maltreatment to my parents all the time, but they have never believed what I told them, since it was their idea for me to marry him.
“My father forced me to marry him, against my wish. I have been staying in my husband’s house just because of my parents.”
“I have not been in good terms with my husband and my rival. We are always fighting. I don’t know why I did what I did, but I regret it.
“Whatever punishment that will be given to me should be done, but every time I remember my action, I keep regretting doing what I did.
Narrating the incident, Abdullahi said she had taken the baby from his mother's room to hers and tried feeding him poisoned food, but he refused to take it.

“I quickly removed his clothes and cleaned the poison with it. I became very confused, realising what I had done,” she said.
Abdullahi said further that the baby was then rushed to the hospital and the nurse said the baby did not swallow the poison.

“My siblings took me to my co-wife and I apologised to her and she said she has forgiven me; but she left everything to God to judge.
“They called my husband on phone and told him and he vowed to divorce me when he returns from his pilgrimage,” she added.

She claimed that she was given 80 strokes of the cane after her husband’s brother insisted that she must be punished for her crime.

“He (my husband’s brother) took me to a vigilance office in our area and they gave me 80 strokes of the cane besides the tax they placed on my father, which he paid.
“My husband’s brother said he wasn’t satisfied with the punishment I was given, so he took me to the Police Station at Maina Maji, where I spent two nights before they brought me here” (Bauchi State Police Command headquarters) she said.

Lady with bleached skin turned away at Miss Ghana audition

Some selected Miss Ghana delegates
The auditions for this year’s Miss Ghana@60 competition have been hugely successful across the regions.

However, the Takoradi audition held on August 28 seemed to have tested the firmness of the judges.

What started as a smooth sailing screening at the Best Western Atlantic Hotel, came to a brief halt when a ‘light skinned’ lady appeared before the panel.

From interactions between the said lady and the jury, the lady considered as a potential contestant confirmed that she had actually tampered with the complexion of her natural skin.

Joy New’s Doreen Avio, who is with the team, reports that the young lady [name withheld] offered an explanation for bleaching her skin.

According to the lady, who exhibited much eloquence and confidence at the audition, a cosmetologist introduced her to a cream to help her deal with ‘rashes’ on her face.

This she said, resulted in the 'lightening' of her facial skin. She added that the development pushed her to apply the cream to all parts of her body in order to ensure uniformity.

She told the judges that she has stopped using the said cream for a long while now but her dark complexion has not returned.

The lady pleaded with the judges to allow her to contest but her plea was turned down.

In all, five ladies were picked in the Western Region.

Prior to that, six ladies had gotten the approval of the judges in the Volta Region for a chance to contest in the grand audition on September 1.

DPO arrested in Port Harcourt for aiding suspected ritual killer’s escape

A Divisional Police Officer in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State has been arrested for allegedly aiding in the escape of suspected ritual killer, Ifeanyi Dike.

‘Even the father of the girl that was killed had said that there was communication with the dismissed sergeant handling the matter and somebody that has not been disclosed.

‘This happened while they were bringing the suspected ritual killer to the State Police Headquarters.’

The Ooni and I are no more – Queen Zaynab Finally Speaks

Queen Zaynab on her Instagram page on today officially confirmed that the 17-month-old marriage to the monarch, Adeyeye Ogunwusi was up by saying: ‘Ooni and I are no more’.

The Queen on her Instagram page officially confirmed that the 17-month-old marriage to the monarch, Adeyeye Ogunwusi was up by saying: ‘Ooni and I are no more’.

She said: We have got to stop this culture of shaming and vilifying women with false stories of infidelity & nefarious behavior.

The spreading of false information (through “sources” afraid to be identified) is the mark of cowards and a cover up for guilty parties to justify their horrific actions. There is absolutely no truth to the media circulated lies of infidelity and infertility- on my end.

What I can confirm, is that the Ooni and I are no more. I inhale love & exhale gratitude. My journey continues as a Humanitarian aiding women and victims of domestic violence & abuse with the United Nations.

No matter how much time you’ve invested, no matter the use of media to silence & manipulate, no matter the circumstance, slander, embarrassment, threats and lies: Get out and seek immediate help!

We’ve seen this movie before. Women being dragged in the press & blamed for everything under the sun. This behavior is unacceptable. I urge those involved to be mindful of their actions for the eyes of our Almighty God are always watching. The seeds of slander is a cancer that harvests to eat away the souls of the planter.

The throne is sacred and the attempts to tarnish the name of a Queen, in defense or on behalf of a silent King makes all involved look terrible. Remain dignified in all you do. It’s not the end of the world, but the start of a new chapter and you must turn the page with grace. The world is watching.

As I bid adieu to this chapter, my wish to you all is to step into your lives – boldly & fearlessly, the way God intended and live not just by words, but through example. The best chapter in our lives is the one we are writing now. Thank you for your love and support. With peace, love & light,

-Her Highness, Zaynab Otiti Obanor.

Kidnapper Evans Pleads Guilty To Conspiracy And Kidnapping

Evans inside the court room
Kidnapper Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans, has finally pleaded guilty to conspiracy and kidnapping before a judge of the Ikeja High Court. A Lagos Division of the Federal High Court on Tuesday adjourned the case till September 5 to hear arguments from Evan’s lawyer and lawyers representing the police force on why he should not deliver judgment on the fundamental rights application brought by Evans.

Evans who was brought to court amidst tight security pleaded guilty to the offences moment his charges were read to him before Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja

Justice Abdulaziz Anka had initially fixed Tuesday to deliver judgment on the suit but a lawyer to the Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force, David Igbodo, appearing for the first time since the hearing began, said he had filed a counter affidavit before the court. “It will be an injustice for judgment to be delivered without hearing our own side,” Mr. Igbodo, Commissioner of Police (Legal Section), said.

Mr. Igbodo speaking with newsmen said investigation into the Evans’ case was “almost complete.” “The case is a very controversial one, it is a sensitive case,” he said.

London Officials Cancel Felabration Event [DETAILS INSIDE]

The Felabration event which was billed to hold at the Notting Hill Carnival yesterday in London, was canceled due to license expiration. The event which was organized to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, did not hold because the organizers of the event failed to secure a license for the event.

According to a security personnel at the venue, the event did not take place because “the licence to hold a live performance expired on the preceding day.”
One of the members of Fela’s management team later spoke on the issue and revealed that the organizers should have processed the license six months prior to the event. He later confirmed that “it (the event) is not happening.”

Another member of the team quipped “l’m glad I’m going to Lagos for the proper Felabration in October.”

Reacting to the situation, Femi Kuti said:

“we trusted people who live in the UK and are supposed to know the rules but they let us down and we can’t even find them to tell us the truth. We have learnt a big lesson but we assure all lovers of Felabration that next year will be stronger and better.”

Ycee Blasts Head Of Sony Music Africa, Says The Deal Is A Scam

Popular Nigerian rapper, Ycee recently put an individual believed to be an executive of Sony Music, on blast. The rapper tweeted degrading words at the man named Michael Ugwu, supposedly at the helm of operations for Sony Music Africa.

Ycee who signed a deal with the international company in 2016, accused the company of milking artistes and his tweets suggests that he sees the “Sony Deal” as a greek gift. From his posts, it is clear that Ycee feels cheated by Sony Music and he accused them of “raping” their signed acts.

The rapper’s dissatisfaction and criticism of Sony Music is similar to the claims of Davido, when he publicly criticized the company and its management. Before now, the “Sony Deal” was considered as a prop towards achieving the goal of globalizing the African sound but with the claims of Ycee and Davido, it seems there is more to it than meets the eye.

Ex-teacher who asked students to rub lotion on her sues Education Department

An ex-Manhattan teacher who asked students to rub lotion on her legs and comb her hair is suing the Department of Education so she can get another job.

Monica Johnson claims she has overcome personal issues that led to the unusual classroom activities, and needs to be cleared to work for a school vendor.

Johnson, who taught the fifth grade, was pulled out of Public School 123 in 2006 following an array of accusations.
In one instance, she called a student “a liar and a thief” and threw an object across the room, according to papers. In 2004 and 2005, she received formal warnings over allegations of corporal punishment of students.

But that wasn’t all.

“You instructed students to massage lotion on your legs and feet, and to comb your hair during instructional time,” the Department of Education wrote in a letter.

She was officially fired in 2008 from her job that paid $57,370 a year.

The ouster came back to haunt the 49-year-old educator last year, when she was offered a job as an after-school site manager for the social services organization University Settlement.

The job offer was rescinded after University Settlement — a Department of Education vendor — learned the reason for Johnson’s firing, court papers indicate.

At the time she got in trouble, Johnson said she had been misdiagnosed with cancer, had endured a nasty custody battle and was homeless.

Johnson, who is representing herself in the case, said she now knows that “professionalism is a non-negotiable” and wants a second chance.
Ms. Johnson’s behavior was inappropriate and completely unacceptable, and she is no longer eligible to work in our schools,” an Education Department spokesman said.
