Legend has it that if you were a Madonna University student that schooled within 2005 to 2010, be it at the Anambra State campus or the River’s State campus of the institution and you did not know Socrates Uduk, who was as at then, the official Madonna University Shakira, that you could be expelled, as it was an indication that you do not stay on campus because it was prohibited for students to school off campus. This was because Socrates Uduk was like a stage demigod in entertainment events organized in Madonna University, throughout his studies at the prestigious institution.

As the saying goes, “a golden fish has no hiding place”, this explains why Socrates Uduk continues to fly in the music industry, which further explains why leading motivational speaker and success coach, Charles Ajiboye invited the quintessential stage icon to perform before big names at The 2013 IC-Cube National Conference and Job/Enterprise Fair. The multi-talented artist did not leave any one in doubt that he got what it takes.

Looking at his recent activities, one can say that Socrates Uduk is in a new phase of his musical career as he presently rolls with stars, one of which is his obvious strong ties with award winning comedian, singer, music executive, tv host, dancer, writer, actor and UN Ambassador for Peace, Owen Osemwengie, popularly known as Owen Gee. Owen Gee the entertainment bigwig, has sang songs with MI, Waje, Sossick, Gino etc.

Information from a reliable source revealed that communications between the duo began the same month The 2013 IC-Cube National Conference and Job/Enterprise Fair was held. Owen Gee was invited to speak at the said event and must have developed interest in Socrates Uduk’s talent since Socrates Uduk performed in the same event.

The source further revealed that the first meeting between the duo was at Bachelos Chicken, Isaac John street, few weeks after the said performance, where plans on the musical advancement of Socrates Uduk were concretize. The duo were again spotted together at the Bunmi Davies event “Once Upon a Mad Man”, that held on Easter Monday 22nd April 2014, at the Muson Centre, and again on the 26th July 2014 at “The Bomb Club” at Surulere. 

Now that we know that the duo roll together, let’s see if we can find more information on the plans for Socrates Uduk. Maybe the presence of Drew in their most recent meeting  at Bar La Mango, Ikeja G.R.A on the 3rd August 2014, will give us some clue.

Drew, a seasoned producer/artist and the right hand man of ace producer, Sossick, brought to our listening pleasure, the highly rated mixtape “Blood Drive”, as well as his self-produced 1st official hit single “Ashtrays and Bottles” and he has produced and sang songs with YQ, Obadice etc, as well as co-produced hit songs of popular music artists. We have disclosure from an authoritative source that Socrates Uduk with the backing of Owen Gee, Drew and a team of other stakeholders in the music industry, is on his way to more money and fame.
