We've seen a lot of tension between Jay Z and HOT 97 over the last few days. Now new rumors are circulating that Jay Z is in talks to buy the radio station along with a group of investors.

The " rock solid source" for the news was acquired my MediaTakeOut, not exactly known for being a "rock solid source" themselves, but it wouldn't be the first time they've broken a story.

The source also names New Nork Knick Carmelo Anthony as part of the group in negotiations to purchase HOT 97 while Radio personality, Ebro acknowledged the rumors on Instagram today, but his post suggests he's probably just up to his usual troll-like behavior.

STOP CALLING US LOCAL RAPPERS—REMINISCE CRIES OUT

Speaking with HipHop World Magazine in an exclusive interview, ‘Reminisce’ has urged fans to drop the appellation stuck on anyone who raps in native language as ‘indigenous rappers.’

According to him, such does not speak well on them because he said there is nothing called indigenous rap. Indigenous rap continues to come to the fore over the years as the Nigerian music industry is witnessing an acceptance of artistes who put out songs in their native languages. These rappers often deliver their punchlines to the delight of their fans.

“Stop calling us indigenous rappers, there is nothing like that. A rapper is a rapper, calling myself, Phyno, Olamide, Seriki, BaseOne, Lil Kesh and couple of others coming up local rapper is a way of suppressing or make us feel inferior because Sarkodie is a rapper and no one refers to him as indigenous rapper. If you cannot call him a local rapper, then don’t call any of us local or
indigenous rapper,” he said.

He further spoke on the endorsement deals coming to him.

“Over the years, we've been able to overturn the rap game, we've been able to change perception as regards if you cannot rap in English, you cannot be a rap god or king and it’s been a collective effort.

"Things have really changed. People can now know who the real hip-hop guys are unlike before when if you can rap in English, you won’t get endorsement. And we feel very proud to be the rave of the moment,” he also said.

August Alsina Gets Into Fight Backstage At Anti-Violence Concert

August Alsina gets into a fight during a show in St. Louis over the weekend.
We've seen August Alsina lash out when he thinks necessary in the past, and this past weekend while performing in St. Louis, August
got into a bit of a scuffle backstage with the show promoters.

Unfortunately, the fight went down at an event that was promoting non-violence-- proceeds from the show went towards the 'Put down the
Pistol' program. The show was called 'State Of Emergency 2' and went down at the Chaifetz Arena on Saturday night.

A fight broke out between the show's
promoter Loose Cannon Slim and Alsina, reportedly because Slim was upset that Alsina showed up late. What started off as an exchange
of words soon became an exchange of fists. Fabolous was also in  attendance, but he stayed clear of fighting.
