Kanye West says Kim Kardashian must change her surname when they get married

Kanye West wants Kim Kardashian to drop her famous surname when they marry.

The rapper is adamant his bride-to-be takes his last name, causing a tense moment over Christmas when her mother, Kris Jenner, suggested Kim become Kardashian-West.

A source said: ‘Everyone at the table gave a thumbs up, except for Kanye. He sat quiet and stern faced, then blurted forcefully, ‘She will be known as Kim West. My wife will bear my name only!’

Kim – who has six-month-old daughter North with Kanye – is now facing the tough decision of trying to please both her notoriously hot-headed partner and her extremely persuasive mother.

The source added to National Enquirer magazine: ‘By the end of the night Kim was in tears because all the way home he kept ranting that he was furious about her even considering to keep the Kardashian name. When Kim fought back, saying her celebrity is based on her famous family’s name, big-headed Kanye snapped that his name holds more weight and respect than hers ever will. Kim just couldn’t stop crying because she suddenly realised she’s in for ongoing pressure – not only from Kanye but from Kris, who’ll be livid if she drops the Kardashian name.’

Tonto Dikeh, Yul Edochie Crowned Vanguard’s Nollywood Sexiest

Readers of the Vanguard newspaper have voted Yul Edochie and Tonto Dikeh as the sexiest acts in Nollywood.

Itz Ova singer Tonto Dikeh came top after beating Ebube Nwagbo and Colette Orji to the title, while Yul Edochie saw off the challenge of Benson Okonkwo and Uti Nwachukwu.

The Sexiest in Nollywood public opinion poll started in 2008 and the maiden edition winners were Genevieve Nnaji and Jim Iyke. Genevieve won the crown as the Sexiest woman in Nollywood in 2008 followed by Ini Edo in second place and Mercy Johnson in third.

For the men, Emeka Ike and Desmond Elliot trailed Jim Iyke as the first runner-up and second runner-up.

The winners in 2009 were Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Desmond Elliot.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde beat Genevieve Nnaji and Chika Ike to be crowned the Sexiest woman in Nollywood 2009 while Desmond Elliot floored Chidi Mokeme and Richard Mofe-Damijo to emerge the Sexiest man in Nollywood 2009.
