Dangote, Christopher Kolade, Mo Abudu, Omotola to Speak At Gen Voices’ 100K Voices Telethon

Following a landmark endorsement by the United Nations, Generational Voices (GenVoices), the project-driven platform to harness the offline and online energy of young Nigerians for practical efforts towards nation building, has unveiled other details for the historic 100,000 Voices Telethon to be hosted by host station, Channels Television from 10am – 1pm on Saturday, 18 January.

“We are excited to announce that Africa’s first Global Black Entertainment Network, EbonyLife TV will be airing the broadcast live as well, working through Channels Television,” said Naomi Lucas, who is Project Manager. “They will be joined by the preferred station for young people in Nigeria, Beat FM, which will also be broadcasting the event live.”

With this, the GenVoices Telethon will be broadcast across Nigeria through Channels Television and to at least 22 African countries through DSTV’s EbonyLife TV – reaching at least 25 million across the continent and the Diaspora through the internet.

30 chapters of GenVoices will also join the broadcast live across the six geopolitical-political zones as well as 10 country chapters of GenVoices, with Channels Television also broadcasting live from the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja. YouTube, Google+, Online Streaming, Tweets and Facebook posts will be flooded with our “Ready To Lead, Ready To Serve” message. During the programme, we would receive live correspondence from the over 30 GenVoices Chapters in the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Texas, New York, Washington DC, Canada, Spain, Ghana and the six geopolitical zones across Nigeria.
Some of Nigeria’s most respected leaders have also been unveiled to make generational statements at the telethon – they include the chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; Nigeria’s former High Commission to the United Kingdom, Christopher Kolade; Chief Executive of EbonyLife TV, Mo Abudu; Chief Executive of the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria, Muntaqa Umar-Sadiq, agriculture entrepreneur and The Future Awards Africa Young Person of the Year 2011, Nnaemeka Ikwegwuonu; actress and one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in the World, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, amongst others.
“We are very excited to begin the countdown to 10am Saturday,” said Alkassim Abdulkadir, who is with the coalition. “A generation is about to speak – and take charge of the Social, Technological, Economic and Governance sectors of our society. It’s about time.”

Didier Drogba Makes Some serious Investment [ MUST READ]

Ivorian footballer and Galatasaray FC forward, Didier Drogba, has purchased a 5 per cent stake of the largest mining company in Cote d'ivoire.

The Former Chelsea star, Didier Drogba reportedly made an investment of $74 Million to acquire part of the state’s shares in the company.

The soccer star had made his interest in the mining sector known as far back as March 2013.
He had however experienced difficulties in getting the deal signed and purchasing stakes at the state owned mine.
The deal was however concluded last Friday with the help of the Cote d'Ivoire President, Alassane Ouattara and the former captain of his national team now owns 5% of the country's minning shares.

Phyno Denies Impregnating Rita Edmond


Rumors went by and fast earlier this week that Enugu born and bred rapper Phyno is expecting a child from upcoming artiste, Rita Edmond.

Phyno in an interview with Punch swiftly denied any of such; he said;

“Believe it or not, I’ve never met or spoken to anyone by that name. I haven’t made any woman pregnant either. If people need three seconds of fame I’m glad that my name could help.”

Punch however gathered that the two musicians dated for a while on and off for about 5 years.

My Husband Wants To Kill Me With Séx, Nigerian Woman Begs For Help [See Photo]

Mrs. Bose Bello, a 38-year old woman has asked the court to dissolve her 12-year-old marriage to her husband over his too much demand for sex.

Mrs Bose who appeared before an Ejigbo customary court in Lagos said her husband has high libido and she couldn't cope anymore with his sexual demands which cold lead to her death.



According to the mother of two, when she complained to her husband, Kayode he sent her out of their matrimonial home, locked her shop, and brought in his lover, identified as Kate Ugwu who now lives with him as his wife, adding that as a result of closing her shop, all her goods expired and she has no money to start up the business again.

She also claimed that at a point her husband was making love to both of them in their matrimonial home.
She asked for the sum of N1.5million as compensation to move on with her life as she was tired of the relationship and no longer loves her husband.

Responding to her allegations, her husband Kayode admitted asking her to leave but said he did so because
of her behaviour.

According to him, he started having problems with his wife, Bose when she told him that she wanted to cook separate food for his late wife’s two children and that's when he decided to send her away for the safety of those children. He also admitted that he has a lover whom he married after Bose left, claiming that his new wife gives him peace and rest of mind. He said he was no longer interested in the marriage and he was not ready to pay any compensation.

The court adjourned the matter till 27 January for judgment.
