I’m scared of something else,not Olamide and Davido’ – Zeez

Zeez is making a superb comeback to the music scene he dominated some years ago with the release of his new single, ‘Atewo’ featuring rapper Olamide.

However, despite the stiff competition in the industry, he has said he’s not afraid of anyone. The singer, who used to be called DJ Zeez, said he embarked on a deliberate hiatus from the music to study some courses but which are not music related in any way.

Speaking on his new collaboration with Olamide in a recent interview with Punch, he said: ‘I collaborated with Olamide because we are from
the same hood-Bariga, alongside 9ice, Reminisce and Lord of Ajasa. It is my first collaboration in many years. I wanted to identify with my Bariga fans, who have been disturbing and clamouring for collaboration from us. The feedback has been awesome. Atewo means clap. It is a celebratory song for people doing well in different walks of life.’

Speaking on the new level of competition in the music industry now, Zeez said, ‘If you are a player in a non-competitive industry, it is best to leave it fast. Yes, the industry is a lot better now compared to when I began. The social media hype, which a lot of artistes including me, now enjoy, was non-existent at the time. What matters most is constantly rebuilding and reevaluating oneself to keep moving with the times because change is the only constant thing.Competition only makes me a better. Artistes like Davido and Olamide, are no threat to me.’

The singer went on to add that he is only scared of not being remembered for his contributions. ‘I am afraid of not being remembered for who I was or impact I made. That is why I try to be a perfectionist in all my dealings. I do not try to imitate any artiste because it is not all about having hit tracks or endorsements but about having a genuine talent and passion for music.’

Talented Nigerian Singer Wizkid Arrested In Kenya

Wizkid was arrested from his Nairobi Crown Plaza hotel room on Saturday afternoon and quizzed by police only hours before his flight back to Lagos.

The arrest was in connection with allegations that he was caught smoking illegal substances.

The incident happened at around 1pm just as the Caro singer was checking out of his hotel room where he has been staying for a week, since his last week’s concert.(continue)..

According to our sources, Wizkid was caught smoking ‘weed’ inside the hotel in which smoking is prohibited. The hotel’s Front Officer asked him why he was smoking before the two got into a heated argument attracting security officers who ended up calling the police to arrest him.

Before police officers cuffed him and drove him to Capital Hill police station where he was quizzed, the hotel had already charged him with Sh50, 000 smoking penalty, which he paid through his credit card.

Coming to his rescue was his newly found Kenyan flame Victoria Kimani, who followed him to the police station shortly after he had been arrested. Victoria had been with the singer at the hotel the previous day. Wizkid was due to leave for Lagos at around 3pm and was forced to cancel the flight due to the drama.

AY’s ‘30 Days In Atlanta’ clinches 4 GIAMA 2014 Awards Premieres Friday October 31

The theatrical release of Ay’s ‘30 Days in Atlanta’ which is billed for release across Nigeria from Friday, October 31, 2014, has just received four major feathers to its cap by winning four more awards at the just concluded Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards (GIAMA) which took place in Houston Texas last Saturday.

’30 Days In Atlanta’ won the award for Best Film (Comedy), Best On-Screen Duo (AY and Ramsey Nouah), Best Cinematography and Hollywood star Lynn Whitfield also got a Special Recognition Award for her role in the movie.

Kanye was reportedly offered $4.5 Million which about to perform on the strip for 9 days, but he turned down the lucrative offer.

Kanye was to be paid $500,000 per show to perform 3 shows a week for 3 weeks at the Axis at Planet Hollywood.

If he had accepted the offer, the deal would have made Kanye the highest earning entertainer of all time in Las Vegas.

He would have come ahead of Jennifer Lopez, who earns $350K per show, Britney Spears, $475K/show, and Celine Dion, who’s presently the highest paid, with $ 476K per concert.
