Iyanya In for MTN Hit-Maker final

Though the four contestants for the final showdown in this year’s MTN Hit-Maker music talent contest would be known by Sunday evening, organisers  of the show have announced that the event would be at the Accra International Conference Centre on Friday, October 25.
Guest performers confirmed for the show, according to Farmhouse, producers of the programme are popular Nigerian star, Iyanya, hiplife act Guru and gospel queen, Ohemaa Mercy.

Iyanya came to public attention after winning the 2008 MTN Project Fame West Africa talent competition. Followers of Nigerian music in Ghana know him well for songs like Kukere, Ur Waist and Sexy Mama.

“Iyanya’s music has gained some ground here and we are sure the audience will respond well to him as well as the Ghanaian acts for the night,” Ivan Quashigah of Farmhouse told Showbiz.

Naterial won the maiden edition of the MTN Hit-Maker contest. Miriam won the second slot and they have both released albums with support from MTN.

The four Hit-Maker finalists to battle for the ultimate prize of Ghc100,000 on October 25 will be chosen from K  Bee, Koo Ntakara,  Kofi Korea, Cano Z and  Nana  Adobea.

The MTN Hit-Maker airs on GTV, Metro TV, Multi TV and UTV on Sundays at 8.30pm. It also airs on eTV  and Cyrstal TV on Saturdays at 8.00pm and on GH One at 7.00pm on Saturdays.

Electricity Workers Threaten Nationwide Blackout If ASUU Doesn't End In 7 Days

Labour activist and General Secretary, National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, Joe Ajaero has given the Federal Government one week to resolve its differences with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) or cripple the country with the mother-of-all-strikes.
Ajaero who was speaking during the opening of a training workshop organized for labour leaders in Enugu, threatened to ally with other unions across the country to join ASUU on a solidarity stike if the impasse persists.
Ajaero said government was being insensitive to the plight of Nigerian students because the children of the rich are studying outside the country.

He said:

“If ASUU issue is not addressed, we will shut this country alongside other unions. We will ally with other unions and make sure that nothing works in this country.
This is not a strike based on demand, it’s based on agreement. As government, you must honour your agreement. Here, there’s no social security, the price of food is high, the same goes for electricity tariff. We are going to join our children to stay at home and let them run the system,” he threatened.

Tonto Dike, one of our finest nollywood actress  is at it again. This time around its the Tonto Dike dirty secret. Have you watched the movie Dirty Secret, starring Tonto Dike?

Frankly speaking, I did not finish all the parts because the story line was just too…..dirty (my opinion). It therefore did not surprise me when movie critics lambasted the movie and actors condemned for taking up the role.

In the movie Dirty Secret, Tonto dike played the role of a spoit child (which she interpreted very well) who sleéps with both  father and boyfriend. Her father played by Jibola Dabo and her boyfriend, played by Muna Obiekwe (the same guy who acted that gáy movie with John Dumelo). In one of the scenes, Tonto ‘slépt’ with both dad and boyfriend

Funny right?Anyway, in a recent interview, Tonto dike revealed the reason why she took up the role she played to perfection. According to her, it was a true life story of a girl. She said she met with the person the storyline talked about. In her own words:

“Actually, that’s a true life story. I met the girl it happened to and that’s why I agreed to do that movie.”Tonto said.

RIRI  proved that she has just more than a sexy voice as she withstood what was a lot of pain to uphold a New Zealand tradition.
The singer marked her trip to the country by getting a traditional Maori tattoo, but also had it done the traditional way: with a chisel and hammer.
Done by Moko Ink, the Stay singer manages to crack a smile despite the blood, but rocks back and forth from the pain when the procedure is done on her knuckles.
