President Jonathan, wife planning to kill me –Father Mbaka

Enugu-based Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience, were planning to kill him over his criticism of the Federal Government and his opposition to the President’s re-election.

Mbaka, in a new video currently trending on YouTube, made the allegation during a sermon he delivered in his church. The congregation erupted in a howl when Mbaka said, “President Jonathan and his wife are planning to kill me.”

The Roman Catholic Priest, whose recent comments on the general elections generated ripples, said the plan to assassinate him showed
that the President no longer had the fear of God.

He said, “Although I sent a letter about this somewhere but I want to say this to the atmosphere. Let me say to the whole world that President Jonathan and his wife, Patience, are planning to assassinate Father Mbaka. It is a
known secret, so whoever they want to use, I don’t know. They may not come themselves. They may use these unemployed people. The same people I am speaking for. I don’t know why people no longer have the fear of God.

“Do they think that killing Father Mbaka will make Jonathan and his wife win the election? Is Mbaka their problem? And a priest asked a question that touched me. He said all this while that Father Mbaka had been supporting Jonathan and his wife, did Buhari and his party make any statement to threaten him?”

Mbaka maintained that his criticism of the Jonathan administration was a divine mandate, while making allusion to the bible story of when God sent Moses to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go.

He compared his New Year message against Jonathan to Moses’ message to the Egyptian King, Pharaoh.

He said in the video, “I am just trying to tell any Pharaoh that is threatening to kill any Moses to remember what happened in Exodus chapter 12. After the Passover, the family of Pharaoh cried. They ended in the middle of the Red Sea.”

The Catholic priest said despite the threats, he would continue to discharge his duties without fear of anyone.Mbaka also denied that Patience Jonathan gave him any money when she visited his church.

He said although President Jonathan dropped money for him through Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, he left the money with Ekweremadu and his wife. He also said that Patience Jonathan’s offering to the church was
also rejected.

Mbaka launched a scathing criticism of President Jonathan last year when he gave a sermon condemning his re-election.

US-based Nigerian show promoters go against Nigerian music stars

It seems Nigerian artists might be facing another challenge as a campaign is  going viral online now and it doesn’t look good for them. The campaign tagged #WeNoBeMumuForArtists is a
protest by the association of Nigerian Music Promoters in the United States of America who all came together to form a body to fight against what they tag as over-priced Nigerian acts.

For them, the music acts offer little or nothing in return for their exorbitant fees they charge and according to reports, in the last 2 years, A-list fees for several acts have gone from $5,000 to
over $40,000 and with little or no sponsorship, these promoters find themselves constantly running at a loss.

For this reason, they’ve decided to take a stand and boycott any Nigerian artist who quotes an exorbitant fee.

The official statement issued by the group reads…

‘Over the years, it’s been enthusiastic priority for Nigerian promoters based in the USA and in the “Diaspora” generally to improve, expand and promote Nigerian (African) music to the best of our ability and we have worked very hard over the years. From mixing tobproducing to waiting outside radio station’ studios for countless hours
BECAUSE WE WANTED TO ENTERTAIN FANS OF THE MUSIC as well as get our wonderful music (AFROBEAT) noticed and enjoyed by the world.

‘We are based in the USA where it’s a third of the price to book a local talent (and by local we also mean internationally known, mainstream
artists) than it is the prices being pitched to us by Artists’ Managers and publicists and ex high school buddies and side chicks and present girlfriends and “Outlaws” aka wannabe promoters who throw “good” money at these artists and get them to commit to events that they (AND BY THEY WE MEAN THE ARTIST AND THE WANNABE BOTH) have no idea about.

‘We would also ask and prefer that our artists concentrate more on improving their acts or performances for their fans cause that’s really what this is all about. We didn’t become professionals and promote Afrobeat and put together great international events to get these artists to where they are only to be bamboozled by a wannabe or a greedy manager or an artist who just looks at us (and the fact that we live abroad) as mugus!’

"The National Executive Council of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, received news of the judgement of a Federal High Court in Lagos on the 16th March 2015 , which annulled the election of November 2012 which brought Ibinabo Fiberesima into office. While we shall abide by the judgement of the High Court, we
shall be guided by the Constitution of the Guild which stipulates that there shall be no vacuum in the leadership of the Guild. In view of this, Ibinabo Fiberesima remains the National leader of the AGN as the court did not declare Emeka Ike President of the guild.

However, the Registered Board of Trustees has gone to the Appeal Court to challenge the judgement. Chief Ibinabo Fiberesima urges her members, supporters and teaming fans to remain calm and peaceful as AGN remains one family. Meek Mill To Support Nicki Minaj On"Pinkprint" North American Tour

Nicki Minaj announces that Meek Mill will open for her on the U.S. leg of her "Pinkprint" tour.

Nicki Minaj is setting out on a European tour in March, but as was expected, it's just a warm up for the dates she's planning in North America this summer. While Trey Songz will be joining Minaj overseas, Nicki announced today that none other than rumored boyfriend Meek Mill will be one of a few supporting acts on her tour of America this summer.

That's the only detail we have on Nicki's upcoming North American tour so far, but Nicki's Instagram post today hinted that the rest of the acts on the bill will be nothing to scoff at either, closing with "Can't wait to unveil the rest of the line up!"
