The Kogi State-born actress delivered her bundle of joy in the early hours of today, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at St Joseph Hospital, University of Maryland in Baltimore.

The baby boy is the 2nd child of Mercy and her husband, Odi Okojie.

Wizkid Slams Saeon & Addressed Samklef's Outcry!!

Wizkid came under heavy criticism by his former producer Samklef. He was also slammed by rising star, Saeon, who claimed she paid him N1.5million for a feature and he couldn’t even give her a shout out.

Wizkid was speaking to the press on Tuesday in Lagos and he addressed both issue.

When he was asked about Saeon, Wiz said , 

“It was strictly work. When did we even start talking that we should be friends like that? She came to me, no not me directly, to my manager and asked for a collabo. Normally i don’t charge my friends but hey she came with some cash and i gladly obliged. I even gave her 10 percent discount. Thats a very generous move because it took her a month to get my attention. After that, its back to our separate lives. We are not friends.”

Breaking: Popular Nollywood Actor Killed By Armed Robbers In Asaba [Picture]

Shocking report just reaching us indicates that some gun men killed a Nollywood actor in Asaba, Delta State today.

It was gathered that the actor, Clem Onyeka, was shot by the armed robbers this morning, but died at the hospital, where he was rushed to for treatment.

A source, who informed Nigeriafilm of the development disclosed that the late actor bumped into the men of the underworld during a shootout and was hit by bullets, but could not survive wounds sustained from the incident and was confirmed dead at the hospital.

Often, many political appointees fail to perform, and that seems to overshadow the glittering performance of the few who have broken from the pack to stand out, in fine fettle. In democracy, a political appointee does well if he remembers that his appointment is more a matter of luck rather than by any right and an opportunity of a life-time to make things happen.

This is one thing that has served many public office seekers right in other climes. In Nigeria however, the halls of power in Delta state are littered with the remains of politicians, businessmen and women who have come to Delta state, determined, not to make things happen, but to make government run more like a business for personal gains rather than a human enterprise that should cater for the needs of the citizens and accelerate development in the areas they are appointed to take charge.

Nigeria is short of men and women with “Big ideas,” people with a winning strategy, sense of direction, trust and hope. We need people who knows how to deal with diverse groups of people who have diverse interests, plus the ability to deal with an enormous amount of uncertainty. 

However, i find Hon Victor Ochei, a governorship aspirant in Delta state under PDP,  as a man destined to change not only Delta state but Nigeria as a whole. He is someone who knows how to do the “right things right.” Diligent and taciturn.

He captured public imagination and rose to the crest of political power on

6th June, 2011 when he was elected Speaker Delta State House of Assembly because of his stellar reputation as an incorruptible advocate of pro-poor policies. As a life-giving and death-defying leader, many economic policies of the Federal Government perceived as anti-people were upturned. Economic growth that could not enhance people’s wellbeing was an anathema to him. In policymaking circles, the fear of Victor Ochie was the beginning of wisdom. He has the temperament and toga of a people’s hero.

I love the good work Victor Ochie has done and is still doing. Yes, I do. However, I am not a hero worshiper. If anything, I seek to be a hero helper, one with the kind disposition of those in classic Greek mythologies.

So, this piece is written in the spirit of an aspiring hero helper, not of a veteran fall- down-and-die prayer warrior, or that of a wilfully blind, see-no-good critic.
