Official: Rapper MI Abaga To Run For Local Govt Chairman in 2015 Elections

Chocolate City Vice President and rapper,  Jude ‘MI’ Abaga, wishes to officially announce his intention to run for chairman of a local government in the forthcoming 2015 election.

MI will be campaigning for the position of chairman of the Takum local government in his home state of Taraba.

Speaking on his decision, MI said;

”It is something I’ve always intended to do: use my voice as a tool for social change. So come next year, I’ll be going full on into politics and running for Local Government Chairman in Taraba State. If you notice, all my albums have politically conscious songs. From the Talk About It Album, to various songs on MI2, I’ve always spoken for the people and am confident, when the time comes, they will speak for me too.”

Chocolate City President, Audu Maikori says while they will miss Jude’s creative input to the business, they are happy to see him take this step.

“I’ve worked with Jude Abaga for many years, close to a decade. And he is a trustworthy, dependent individual who has a way with words. Chocolate city family is solidly behind him and wishes him all the best in his political endeavours.”

The rapper plans to release his album and spend the last half of the year campaigning.

‘I had my first kiss at 13’ – Ice Prince

Chocolate City rapper, Ice Prince revealed that he had his first kiss at 13.

Speaking in an interview last week, the award winning rapper disclosed this when he was answering questions about his sex life.

‘I had my first kiss when I was 13,’ the rapper said coyly, while speaking with a reporter from Pulse.

Remember the rapper also revealed that he was raped by an aunt when he was 13?

‘I had my first sexual encounter. I would not say it was a good thing at all. It’s something I regret, whatever it was.  It wasn’t a sweet experience at all.  I had this aunty, though we were not related, she was just a neighbour who was living close to us, who came into my room and slept with me.’

‘It wasn’t a good experience at all.  I was scared, very scared.  I saw hell.  It was a terrible experience. I am not excited talking about it at all. Sex is not that good. I think sex is over-rated. I don’t know.

‘She just came into my room and just forced me to do it with her…  Oh, let’s not talk about it.  I was so young and innocent. But she made me lose my innocence. The woman is still alive.  I don’t think I have even seen her since then,’ Ice Prince revealed in the interview.

Former Nigerian Super Eagles footballers on Friday thrashed Nollywood stars in a novelty match sponsored by Human Right Commission in Abuja.Despite the training sessions, the pot-bellied Nollywood celebrities lose big time.

The novelty match aimed at promoting human rights of Nigerians ended in a 4-0 win in favour of the experienced Eagles stars.

The Super Eagles stars who played at the novelty match were Taribo West, Okocha, Mutiu Adepoju, Stephen Keshi, Amokachi, Alloy Agu, Peter Rufai, Emmanuel Amunike and Austin Eguavoen.

Lady Gaga celebrated turning 28 backstage after her Roseland Ballroom show in New York City on Friday, March 28, 2014 and her dancers sang her ‘Happy Birthday ‘ before presenting her with gifts.

‘MS didn’t kill her, ignorance did’, Yemisi Ilo blames Zara’s family for her death

I also have MS and I am currently in Singapore – where by His grace I will finally halt the progression and hopefully and prayerfully reverse some if not all disability.

I spoke to Zara on Tuesday. She said she was being given ‘Agbo’ to drink by her family and that it was killing her. Those were her exact words. I told her to NOT drink it. With an already compromised immune system – Agbo is bullshit. It is poison. MS is not malaria.

I gave Zara clear details of exactly what she needed to do to try to get well. It isn’t easy AT ALL – I should know but unfortunately for her, she was surrounded by very ignorant people at the end who felt that they knew best.

I first heard of Zara when I read about her on Linda Ikeji ‘s blog a year ago. I got in touch with her immediately and started a Skype friendship. I was in London and she was in the States (US).

We spoke regularly. When I went back to Lagos, we would WhatsApp and I would call her. 

When she came to Nigeria in October last year, I went to see her and she was surprised that she could move better than me! I organized the Battabox interview (which we did at my parents house). She said she didn’t want to live with her mum in the States – yet she had no one to look after her there apart from her mum. She needed someone. She even wanted to come and stay with me, but I am married with small children and my own MS issues were already enough for one house.

I am so pissed off, so angry, so fucking sad, teary and frustrated. If I had been in Nigeria, I would have gone to pick her up on Tuesday when I spoke to her. She was so desperate to leave Ogba. She said she had a return ticket to America and would try to leave ASAP. I gave her my neurologist’s number so she could get some steroids to help her get over the horrible relapse she was having. 

Also to get her to explain the condition to Zara’s family so they would realize that this was not an ‘Agbo ’ matter.

I have had MS for nearly 10 years. My walking has deteriorated and I am currently alternating between a walker and a wheelchair. Zara was worried that she wouldn’t get married and have kids – I told her that I had 4 kids and was happily married and continued to work and that there was hope.

I have always been vocal about MS and even appeared on a ‘ Moments with Mo ’ episode talking about it. There are many Nigerians with MS – I know a few but they want to keep quiet. Their families are embarrassed. Why? I don’t know? It can happen to anyone at any time.

Granted, I am extremely fortunate to have the strength of character and a loving and supportive and enlightened family to deal with this HORRIBLE condition that has led to this opportunity for me to undergo Hemapioetic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) – Google it. 

It has taken donations from over 100 people to do this. It costs over $150k (N24,727,501). I told Zara that since she was a US citizen, she could get on a trial at the University of Chicago under Dr. Burt for free.

I just want people to know that MS didn’t kill Zara – ignorance did. As well as our fatalistic attitude in Nigeria where everyone prays and no one takes action.

Fans Blasts Davido For $40 New York Show Flops!

HKN star, Davido is currently dealing with another phase of controversy as fans in New York are mad at him.

The artiste, who is currently in New York as part of a US tour, has been accused by his many fans of cheating them right there in the Big Apple.

The artiste’s first official US tour seems to have started on a bad note. Davido held a live concert in New York last night but hours later, a huge number of his fans took to social media to berate the Pop singer for his ‘bad behaviour’.

According to concert goers, the headline artiste (Davido) was billed to hit the stage at about midnight but did not do so until 3AM.

Fans had gotten irritated at this point, knowing that the show was to end in an hour. Davido is also said to not have performed his hit song ‘Skelewu’.

Fans who paid for regular tickets were charged $40 while VIP tickets sold for $75. The show (and US concert) was put together by Big A Entertainment .

Knowing fully well what had happened, Davido tried to correct the problem by tendering an apology on Twitter but it seemed too late as fans responded, blasting him.

‘Damn My NY was too packed police shut it down!! The love and support that came out was overwhelming!!! I will be back!’ @iam_Davido: ‘Feel so bad!!!!!!! Not my fault but I take the blame!!! I’m sorry!! Luv u guys 4real!! NYC!!!!!!Really sad! ‘, Davido wrote.

‘YOUR SHOW WAS FUCKIN STUPID AND LAME. YOU BETTER REFUND PEOPLE. I hope they call POLICE on you. You came on stage like 3:20am. Better refund people mtf ,’ Instagram user @kingarthur903 replied.

‘Never again, a big flop! Disappointment! People smoking weed, skelewu wasn’t even performed, you came way very late when people were tired & frustrated, the cops shut it down, so disorganize.

You should never come back to NYC to perform anymore because now nobody cares, & that’s a fact. Waste of makeup, energy, gas, money, everything.get your promoters right boo! (sic),’ user @africanqueen247 wrote.

Ice Prince Signs Deal With World’s Biggest Music Corporation

Chocolate City hip hop artiste, Ice Prince, has signed a deal with the biggest music corporation in the world, Universal Music Group.

The rapper, who said the deal has been sealed and signed but is yet to be announced officially, didn’t give full details of the  deal.

Speaking with the Pulse in a recent interview, the rapper said, ‘I recently signed with Universal Music Group. the official announcement hasn’t been made yet. They will start first with my ‘I Swear’ track, which will be licensed in the UK, after which other tracks will follow.’

The deal will help the rapper expand his fan base and reach his audience globally through international channels.
