Movie Director McCollins Blasts Genevieve Nnaji For Insulting Nollywood

Nollywood screen goddess, Genevieve Nnaji in a recent interview revealed that her face has been scarce in many Nollywood films as a result of her not finding the right script yet.

Now we know that Creativity and Depth are the qualities the star looks out for in a script.

For those of you that missed the interview, here is what she said ;

"In the beginning, the movie industry
emphasized quantity but things are changing and there is an improvement in trend. I am among the people who advocate for the improvement of the industry. So said, I am constantly watching out for the kind of stories I take part in. I am in support of movies that show a great deal of professionalism and creativity. Having practiced my art in international & professionally produced stories like 'Ije', 'Mirror boy', and 'Tango with me', I don't think I can return to the blandness and mediocrity that characterized Nollywood in the past".

Well, a popular Nollywood movie director, Mac Collins Chidebe has replied Genny in a statement released today. Mac Collins blatantly replied saying Genevieve should come and improve Nollywood instead of blasting the industry that brought her fame and fortune.

"Genevieve has just insulted the industry that made her who she is today and what effort has she made to help improve Nollywood? Those days in Enugu when Genevieve was growing in Nollywood, our movies were not rubbish; she has grown now, made money, fame, popularity etc., how much has she invested in this Industry that made her? All the while she was busy waiting for Titanic scripts, Nollywood was trying their best to keep the flag flying waiting for her to come back and take the industry to the next level. Artistes should stop biting the fingers that fed them. We are watching and waiting for them to bring down heaven. We made them stars; we are waiting for them to come back and take the industry to the next level. Instead of blasting Nollywood, come and improve Nollywood," Chidebe said.

Nigerian Singer Adokiye Defends Her Virginity Offer To Boko Haram

Popular Nigerian singer/actress, Adokiye Kyrian is still daring Boko Haram and this time, she is asking why the sect is yet to accept her offer.

The singer had gained international recognition after she made a public announcement to offer her virginity to the Boko haram sects for the release of the over 200 Chibok girls kidnapped on April 14 in Borno state.

In a recent interview with BellaNaija, she defended her virginity offer to Boko Haram which according to her still stands.

Adokiye said, "I made an open offer to some group of people. The question is why they haven't accepted my request? They should gather up the girls, prepare them for release and then I am sure they will find out if I'm still a virgin.

"I stand by my words to say I don't mind being an exchange for the release of those kids so they can go back to their families. Whatever it is they are going through, for them to be released should be thrown to me. And If they have turned the young girls to their sex slaves, they should consider releasing them and turn me to one ."

See Gobe: Katy Perry Sued By Christian Musicians For Stealing Their Song

Katy Perry blatantly stole a song from a Christian hip-hop singer and then tarnished it with witchcraft, paganism and black magic ... at least that's the claim in a new lawsuit.

According to the suit--katy Perry's hit
song "Dark Horse" is a rip-off of an award-winning Christian gospel song called "Joyful Noise" ... that was released 5 years before Perry's track.

The suit was filed by an artist known as Flame -- along with other singers.

They say Perry not only hijacked their religious music...she also destroyed their reputation in the Christian music world because they're now associated with the anti-Christian witchcraft and Imagery that appears in the "Dark Horse" music video.

They're suing for damages ... and want Perry to stop using any form of their music stat.

Female Boko Haram Informant Arrested

Nigeria's Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro has confirmed the arrest of a female accomplice and informant of the dreaded Boko
Haram sect. It could be recalled that National Orientation Agency, NOA, had on Wednesday, 2 July, 2014, posted on its Facebook account of the arrest of a Boko Haram female accomplice identified as Hafsat Bako.

However, the details of the arrest were not given by the government agency.
In a bid to confirm the arrest, Obanikoro went to his twitter handle @MObanikoro to tweet about the arrest and also posted the photo of the Boko Haram's female accomplice.

Meanwhile, several suspected Boko Haram collaborators have been arrested lately by the Nigerian military for involvement in the kidnapping of over 200 schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State northeastern Nigeria.

 Among them a businessman, Babuji Ya'ari, based in Maiduguri, who allegedly helped the insurgents plan several attacks and murders under the cover of a pro-government vigilante group, Civil JTF, fighting Boko Haram.

Sad News: Plane Crashes Into Shops In Kenya

According to punch, a cargo plane crashed into a commercial building in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, shortly after taking off from the city’s main airport on Wednesday and the four crew members on board were feared dead, the Kenyan Airports Authority said.

According to them, all the crew members were “feared to have perished” after the plane crashed into shops in Nairobi’s Embekasi neighborhood.

Television footage showed the tail and wings of a white plane ripped in half outside a smoldering two-story building left mangled by the force of the impact.

Robin Thicke Attempts To Win His EX Wife Paula Patton

Robin Thicke has made it very, very clear that he's on a quest to win back his estranged wife, Paula Patton, although he may be a little lost after publically  professing his love over the past four months without having seen his ex.

"I actually have no idea what I'm doing," "am Lost Without U," crooner admitted during an appearance Wednesday on Good Morning America. "I'm just kinda flying by the seat of my pants on this one."

The clip, which is a far cry from his hit "Blurred Lines," features adorable children recreating a wedding scene (no naked models in sight!) and it should come as no surprise that the visuals were inspired by Thicke's nuptials to the
Baggage Claim beauty.

"These songs poured out of me over a course of Two weeks, the whole album pretty much. And when I was looking through some of our old wedding photos and our sentimental stuff, I saw
some of the pictures of the kids that were at the wedding and I thought it might be nice to create a wedding from the eyes of the 8-year-olds," Thicke
explained.

Chocolate City signs Canada-based artiste Dice Ailes

One of Nigerian's top record labels, Chocolate City has unveiled its first signing of 2014, Canada-based artiste Dice Ailes (pronounced as Ale-s).

Dice Ailes who is of Nigerian and
Ghanaian descent is a rapper and singer. He is currently a third year University undergraduate in Canada.

According to Dice’s profile on the Choc City’s website, the young act met up with label V.P, M.I , sometime in 2013 and fostered a relationship which eventually led to his current signing.

Facebook In Trouble; Faces UK Probe For Manipulating Users

This is what happens when you invade someone's privacy. A UK regulator is investigating whether Facebook broke data protection laws when it conducted a psychological study on users without their consent.

The test saw Facebook “manipulate” the news feeds of nearly 700,000 users to control which emotional expressions they were exposed to. 

The Information Commissioner’s Office said it planned to question Facebook over the study. Facebook said it had taken “appropriate protections for people’s information”.  

“We are happy to answer any questions regulators may have,” Facebook’s Richard Allen said in a statement.

The Financial Times and The Register quoted the ICO as saying that it would contact Ireland’s data protection regulator over the issue. Facebook’s European headquarters are based in Dublin.

The research was conducted in collaboration with Cornell University and the University of California at San Francisco on 689,000 Facebook users over a period of one week in 2012...

According to the report on the study: “The experiment manipulated the extent to which people were exposed to emotional expressions in their News Feed”

The study found that users who had fewer negative stories in their news feed were less likely to write a negative post, and vice versa.

The research was done to gauge if “exposure to emotions led people to change their own posting behaviours”.

However, the research has been criticised because Facebook users were unaware they were taking part.

Justin Bieber is back to his old ways. After reuniting with Selena Gomez , he promised to change his behavior and to properly commit to her. But following a photo posted to Chantel Jeffries‘ Instagram, it’s clear that he

SHOCKER: Man Commits Suicide After Fiancée Dumps Him

According to Punch, a 33- year-old man, Oluwatosin Otaiku, stabbed himself to death after his fiancee, Olaogun Oluwatoyin, discontinued the relationship.

PUNCH Metro gathered that Otaiku killed himself after his woman told him she was no longer interested in the relationship. After the girlfriend made a U-turn, the deceased was said to have become worried, and this made neighbours, who were aware of the development, to intervene. Efforts were made to reconcile them.

On one of such occasions, an eyewitness said the duo was invited to discuss in privacy inside a shop at Safari junction in Onikolobo. Otaiku was said to have hid a knife in his pocket, prepared to end it all if there was no truce.

It was further gathered that Olaogun stood her ground and maintained that she could not continue with the relationship.

On hearing this unfavourable verdict, the deceased reportedly brought out the knife from his pocket which made Olaogun to run out of the shop, thinking she was the target.

Olaogun was said to have immediately alerted neighbours who rushed into the shop and met the deceased stabbing himself.
