DPO arrested in Port Harcourt for aiding suspected ritual killer’s escape

A Divisional Police Officer in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State has been arrested for allegedly aiding in the escape of suspected ritual killer, Ifeanyi Dike.

His arrest was made on the orders of the state’s police command and comes on the heels of the manhunt for Dike.

Dike’s escape was linked to the DPO after phone calls between him and a dismissed police sergeant, Johnbosco Okoroeze, was discovered by the police.

This led the police to believe Dike’s escape was planned.

The police stated, ‘We have enough evidence to believe that the DPO was working hand in hand with the ex-sergeant, who has been remanded in police custody.

‘Even the father of the girl that was killed had said that there was communication with the dismissed sergeant handling the matter and somebody that has not been disclosed.

‘This happened while they were bringing the suspected ritual killer to the State Police Headquarters.’

Dike is alleged to have raped and killed his eight-year-old cousin, Victory Chikamso, before removing vital body parts from her for money rituals.
