Jhene Aiko Finalizes Divorce From Nigerian Husband Dot Da Genius

According to TMZ, the duo whose marriage crumbled after only 11 months and share no kids together, finally reached a financial agreement.

Recall that in 2016, Aiko filed for the dissolution of her brief marriage to the Nigerian music producer whose real name is Oladipo Omishore, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’. While she said they were married for only 11 months, he asserted that it was for two and a half years.

Their breakup was trailed by claims that Aiko cheated on him with rapper Big Sean, but she clarified in August 2016 that this wasn’t so, that she and the producer never lived together. She then hinted that she was abused by the producer, tweeting, “Never let a man disrespect u in any way… I only cheated myself. so glad to be free from all the drugs, depression and confrontation.”

The statement prompted the Nigerian to speak up. “In light of public threats, false allegations and attempts to slander my name and character, I am compelled to speak up,” he said.

He continued, “Because my nature is peaceful, I’ve been silent out of respect for all involved, and to maintain my privacy. However, I believe the truth must be heard, which is that I’ve never been violent or abusive towards any woman in my life. Such behavior is abhorrent to me and far from how I conduct myself. Moving forward, I will continue to focus on my family, friends and music, and soon enough the entire truth shall come to light.”

In December, Dot Da Genius demanded for spousal support, which she quickly asked the court to deny. Nothing was heard of their case, until yesterday when news confirmed that they their marriage has been officially annulled.

Jhene Aiko continues to date Big Sean.
