According to business magazine Ventures Africa, Nigeria has four new dollar billionaires making a total number of 23. Na wa...This means Nigeria has the largest number of billionaires on the continent. It is a good thing right?

Meet The Four Newest Nigerian Billionaires (In Dollars):

Cletus Ibeto (worth $3.7 billion)
Founder of Ibeto Group. He’s a grass to
grace billionaire who grew from an
apprentice in a spare parts shop to the
owner of the largest conglomerate in
Eastern Nigeria

Benedict Peters (worth $2.7 billion)

An oil magnate, his Aiteo group is one of the fastest growing local players in
Nigeria’s upstream and downstream oil
sectors.

Tony Elumelu (worth $1.6 billion)

A serial investor, Tony is the chairman
of UBA Group, one of Africa’s most
successful banks; Heirs Holdings, an investment company; and Transnational Corporation (TRANSCORP Plc)

Akanimo Udofia (worth $1 billion)

Although based in Canada, his Desicon
Group, an engineering, procurement and construction services company, is said to be one of the major services companies in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
