Ivorian footballer and Galatasaray FC forward, Didier Drogba, has purchased a 5 per cent stake of the largest mining company in Cote d'ivoire.
The Former Chelsea star, Didier Drogba reportedly made an investment of $74 Million to acquire part of the state’s shares in the company.
The soccer star had made his interest in the mining sector known as far back as March 2013.
He had however experienced difficulties in getting the deal signed and purchasing stakes at the state owned mine.
The deal was however concluded last Friday with the help of the Cote d'Ivoire President, Alassane Ouattara and the former captain of his national team now owns 5% of the country's minning shares.
