Sex Worker To Spend Three Months In Jail After Committing Same Offence For The Second Time

LAGOS - A 21-year-old female sex worker was
sentenced to three months in prison with hard labour for appearing before the court for the second time.

Chief Magistrate A. O. Awogboro of the Tinubu.Magistrates' Court, Lagos, said she took the decision to punish Ene Emmanuel after she appeared before her bearing a different name and committing the same offence - engaging in sex hawking.

Earlier, Prosecution told the court that the accused committed the offence at about 2am on November 8 on Victoria Island.

"On the previous arraignment, the accused had presented herself as 'Josephine Ogu,' which was a false name," the Prosecutor said.
