Five Commercial Séx Workers In Prison Over Alleged Prostítution

Five suspected commercial séx workers have been remanded in Prison by an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court in Lagos on Monday after they pleaded guilty to loitering and soliciting for the purpose of prostítution.

The Magistrate, Mrs E. Ikubeinje, remanded them in prison, pending a review of facts and sentencing.

The accused are Olaide Oshilaja, 25; Vivian Osagie, 26; Regina Dickson, 27; Doris Okoh, 23; and Rose Alome, 29.

The accused, whose addresses are unknown, are standing trial on a charge of behaving in a disorderly or indecent manner in a public place around Obalende area of Lagos.

The prosecutor, Inspector Clifford Ogu, had earlier told the court that the accused committed the offence on October 6, at Obalende area of Lagos.

He said: “The accused were found loitering at different areas of Obalende, Lagos, soliciting for the purpose of prostítution.”

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 166 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The magistrate adjourned the case till October 8 for facts and sentencing.
