Listen To Wizkid’s Deleted Verse From Drake’s One Dance

One Dance is a massive record on which Drake featured Wizkid and Kyla Reid. The song is one of the commercially successful songs off Drake’s Views album and its success extends to the Billboard Music Awards, where it won multiple awards.

Nigerian music superstar, Wizkid has been duly credited and awarded for writing the rave single but it appears he actually wrote and recorded a verse for the song that somehow failed to make the final cut. The Starboy only had minimal vocal contribution on the publicized version of the One Dance song.

However, a video in which an unshared version of the song with Wizkid’s original verse playing audibly, has surfaced on the internet suggesting that Drake deleted Wizkid’s verse from the One Dance song he put out and that we are familiar with. Watch the video here.

How billionaire, Folorunsho Alakija wants to help African women realise their value

One of the world’s richest black women, Folorunsho Alakija, hopes to see a world in which women know their value and follow their dreams.

And the billionaire businesswoman, who is valued at $1.57 billion by Forbes, has started a non-governmental organisation to help achieve this.

Named ‘Flourish Africa’, it is aimed at female millenials and adults alike to access knowledge which would help them progress in every aspect of their lives.

According to Alakija, there is a need for more spaces in the online community where women can engage in intellectual discourse and uplift, empower, and inspire each other no matter what age.

‘Many women have the potential to be great. If we form a community of like-minded individuals who share a common goal and purpose, we can pull together, make an impact in every community we find ourselves and ultimately, flourish,’ she said.

She added, ‘Given the opportunity, women have the power to change the course of any nation and together, we can break down the stereotypes that hold us all back, making our communities much more stronger and greater.

‘Together we can create a world where every woman understands their true value and have the tools at their disposal to follow their dreams.’

Your 2-Year Reign Has Been Fruitless - Catholic Bishops Come For Buhari

President Buhari has again come under major attack and this time from Catholic Bishops in the Kaduna Ecclesiastical Province.
The President was slammed over the state of the country’s economy as it was stated that his ongoing reign as the country's head is yet to help the plight of the people.

The bishops said,
“We are saddened by the fact that after over two years, there are still no measurable changes in the welfare of our people. The recession has not abated, the lives of ordinary people continue to hang in a balance as insecurity ravages the land.

The party in power remains riddled in internal infighting and has thus lost a sense of moral direction and urgency.

“Sadly, very little has happened to assure Nigerians that they have a stake in their own country .

“We cannot successfully go into the next (2019 ) election circle in this state siege.

“Military presence cannot provide peace for our people, only a responsible leadership with a sense of humility and respect can provide the space for our people to rebuild their lives.

Businesses are closing down, abandoned projects litter everywhere, retired pensioners still wait in vain for their pensions, workers’ salaries remain unpaid, health facilities and public services continue to deteriorate and life remains hazardous for citizens.

“The nation can now feel the accumulated impact of this frustration in the agitations among the various groups.

“We call on our political officials to make hay while there is still a little shadow of sunshine . Perhaps more than any single group, the youth did more to bring this government to power, but they have become its victims. Sadly, very sadly, the lot of our youths has not changed.

Unemployment still looms, a culture of strikes still endangers the future education of many young people. With the young people making up well over 50 per cent of our population, we are sitting on a keg of gunpowder.

“Resolving the problems through dialogue, our politicians continue to treat the victims as aggressors.

“We appeal to our people to work assiduously through dialogue and just compromises to resolve perceived imbalances and structural deficiencies in the system.”

At least 16 oil workers die as bus plunges from pier into Black Sea

At least 16 people drowned today after being trapped in a bus which plunged off a pier in southern Russia.
Some 24 have been rescued or swam ashore on the Black Sea, but there were fears that the vehicle was overloaded with oil construction workers and that the toll may rise.
There were unconfirmed claims that between 38 and 60 people were in the bus when it sank at a depth of around 35 ft.

A survivor has claimed that the bus was out of control before plunging into the ocean.

'When we drove down to the pier, something cracked,' he said. 'There was one crack and the bus suddenly accelerated.
'For some reason, it turned towards a pier that was under construction. The driver kept silent. When we were careering along the pier, we began to smash windows and doors to get out.'He told Daily Mail Australia .
Some people managed to escape before the runaway bus went off the edge of the pier, say eyewitnesses.

Some accounts say the breaks malfunctioned, and the driver sought and failed to use the gears to halt the bus.
'Sixteen people died, 24 were rescued, eight of them were hospitalised,' said an emergencies' spokesperson.

Man punches girlfriend in the face after she said NO to his romantic marriage proposal

A thug turned up at his girlfriend's work to pop the question - and punched her in the face when she said no.

Andrei Pavel left Andrea Nagy with “significant injuries” in the horror attack after splashing out on an engagement ring and a bunch of flowers.

Following his arrest Pavel, who has no previous convictions, told police officers he was upset by the rejection.

Now he has been banned from contacting his victim for a year after pleading guilty to assault by beating.

North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard Pavel and Nagy had been in an “intense” relationship for three months and had moved in together before hitting a rocky patch.

But Pavel, from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, was keen to get things back on track and turned up at Nagy’s workplace on July 21 to propose.

Prosecutor Ruth Bentley said:

“She described the relationship as intense. She moved in with him after two months but the relationship broke down and they split up.
“Since that time he had been contacting her via texts. He did not want the relationship to end. He was trying to get it back on track, and even purchased a ring and asked her to marry him.“She was handed a note at work, which said the defendant wanted to speak to her. She met the defendant who was waiting outside with a bunch of flowers.”
The court heard Pavel proposed to Nagy but she said no.

Bentley added:
“He punched her to the face, knocking her to the floor for a matter of seconds. She was left with an injury to her face.”

The court heard Nagy said she was scared of the defendant and described him as jealous and controlling.

Usher finally responds to Herpes lawsuit, wants it dismissed

A month after news broke that Usher allegedly gave an unidentified Georgia woman the herpes virus,he's now fighting back.

The singer has responded to the $20 million lawsuit filed by a Georgia woman who claims he gave her genital herpes back in April.

In Usher's legal docs, obtained by TMZ, he notes her lawsuit says nothing about whether she had been tested prior to their alleged sexual encounter. He says, "A previous sexual partner very well may have already infected her."

And, Usher says, she could have contracted the STD after their alleged encounter.
And he also says she assumed the risk of getting herpes by having "casual, unprotected sexual intercourse and/or oral sex."

However,Usher did not attack the lawsuit by saying he couldn't have given her herpes.
His lawyer also says there's no cause for the woman to secretly file her lawsuit.
He's asking the judge to throw out her lawsuit.

Police arrest man for attempting to use father, two siblings, five friends for ritual

The Police in Anambra have arrested a 26-year-old man, Chukwuemeka Okafor,  for allegedly attempting to use his father, two siblings and five friends for money ritual.

The suspect, who hailed from Ifite-Awka in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra, was arrested following information made available to the police by a vigilant resident of the community.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Garba Umar, who briefed newsmen in Amawbia on Thursday on the arrest of the suspect, said the father had innocently provided N100, 000 to his son unknown to him that the son had a devilish intention.

Umar said that the suspect lied to his father about a business which made him raise the money for him believing that it was a genuine venture.

He further said that after collecting the money, the suspect proceeded to the house of a native doctor to prepare a charm that would enable him to eliminate his father, two siblings and five of his friends.

He said that the suspect had confessed to the crime, and was assisting the police with useful information for further investigation.

The commissioner said the suspect would be charged to court after investigation.

He listed the items recovered from the suspect to include; eight photographs of the victims, including three members of the family and pictures of his five face book friends as well as the sum of N100,000.

The suspect told newsmen that he collected the N100, 000 from his father under the pretence that he would use the money to set up a business.

Okafor told reporters that he was roped into the act after he was defrauded of N400,000 by one of his friends who promised to take him to Dubai.

“Amidst these frustrations, I sought the assistance of one Zaki who is very influential in the society and he told me that he made his money through money ritual.

“He encouraged me to join him in the ritual act after revealing the secret,” he said.

Okafor said he was warned not to reveal the secrets of the ritual to anybody otherwise his life would be terminated.

He regretted that he had no intention to join the evil act, but that he was pushed into it by the devil, adding that he got the picture of his friends from their Facebook walls.

Man who spent 25 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit files $125m lawsuit

A Detroit man who served 25 years in prison for murder based on sham evidence has filed a lawsuit seeking more than $125million.

Desmond Ricks was released in May after making the extraordinary claim that Detroit Police framed him for a fatal shooting that killed Gerry Bennett outside a restaurant in 1992. A judge reviewed the evidence and he was exonerated.

An analysis of two bullets from the victim shows they don't match the gun that was offered as the murder weapon at Ricks' trial in 1992. He was accused of shooting a friend outside a Detroit restaurant and sentenced to at least 32 years in prison.

Attorney Wolfgang Mueller says Ricks was a victim of 'horrific' misconduct. He filed a lawsuit in federal court Wednesday on behalf of Ricks and two daughters.

According to Daily Mail, the suit names two defendants who are retired Detroit police officers. David Pauch was the evidence technician on the case. Donald Stawiasz was the officer in charge of the investigation that led to Ricks' wrongful conviction.

The lawsuit argues that the duo framed Ricks by fabricating bullet evidence — swapping out the bullets taken from the victim's body with bullets test-fired from a gun belonging to Ricks' mother.

At trial, prosecutors said a gun belonging to Ricks' mother was used in the slaying. But tests on bullets still in police storage eliminated any connection.
Ricks worked with a team from University of Michigan law school and a gun expert. They claimed Detroit police framed Ricks for the slaying with sham evidence — bullets that didn't come from the victim.

'I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I had nothing to do with this,' Ricks, 50, said, referring to the shooting of a friend outside a burger dive.
'They switched the bullets on me,' he said.

He likely will benefit from a new Michigan law that awards someone who is wrongly convicted $50,000 for each year spent in prison.

Diezani, seven ex-governors, others to lose Dubai assets

With the signing of a pact by the Federal Government and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) yesterday, the coast is clear for the Federal Government to seize assets of 22 politically exposed persons and businessmen in Dubai.

The funds traced to them, which are believed to have been looted, are to be frozen and repatriated to Nigeria.

According to the Nation, all the 22 former political leaders and businessmen are being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The ratification of the six agreements between the two countries delayed the seizure of the assets, The Nation learnt yesterday.

From the records at the Land Registry in the UAE, most of the properties have been traced for forfeiture with the UAE authorities.

Under investigation are seven former governors,  seven ex-ministers, four businessmen, a former  chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, a former presidential assistant indicted in the $2.1billion arms deals and  a former First Lady who  allegedly used fronts to acquire some choice properties.

Two of the assets have been traced to a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, who was implicated by the United States Department of Justice as a beneficiary of $1.5billion laundered cash.

Also under searchlight are about five luxury properties allegedly linked with a former official of the defunct Oceanic Bank.

Following a state visit to the UAE by President Muhammadu Buhari on January 19, 2016 , the Federal Government signed six agreements with the Emirates.

Man allegedly defiles three girls aged 9-12 in Ogun (Photo)

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old man, Ini Udoh, for allegedly defiling three girls.

The suspect and the victims, whose ages ranged between nine and 12, were said to be residents of Agboola Close, in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.

Udoh was alleged to have had carnal knowledge of the girls when his wife and parents of the victims were not at home.

The suspect, police report indicated, usually lured the victims into his room under the pretext of sending them on errands,Punch reports.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was arrested when the mother of one of the girls discovered traces of semen on her pants.

He said, “The mother of one of the girls noticed what looked like sperm in her pants while washing them, which aroused her curiosity. The discovery made her to question the girl.
“This was what led to a revelation that the suspect had been defiling her and two others, whenever their parents were not at home.”

He said the discovery led the fathers of the three girls to jointly make a report at the Sango-Ota Divisional Police Headquarters.

The Divisional Police Officer, Akinsola Ogunwale, was said to have detailed detectives to arrest the suspect.

Oyeyemi said the three victims had been taken to a general hospital for treatment and tests.

Orphans get N10.3m for cows to celebrate Sallah

The Sokoto State Zakkat and Endowment Commission has distributed N10.3 million to 86 District Heads to buy cows for orphans during the Eid-el-kabir celebrations coming up next weekend.

Malam Lawal Maidoki, its Chairman, in a brief speech shortly before disbursing the money, stated that the gesture was part of government’s effort to ease the suffering of the orphans and the needy.

Maidoki said that the financial constrains facing the nation had not stopped government from executing its good intentions toward a better life for the poor and vulnerable in the society.

He said that the money was routed through the traditional rulers because they were the closest avenue through which government could reach targeted persons like orphans and the physically challenged.

Maidoki said that government would soon construct Zakkat offices across all districts in the 23 local government areas, and urged the District Heads to support the commission’s tree planting efforts to improve Sokoto’s environment.

A representative of Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar III, Alhaji Kabiru Usman, the Sarkin Yakin Binji, who flagged off the disbursement of the money, commended Gov Aminu Tambuwal for the efforts to ease the suffering of the people.

He called on the District Heads to ensure proper use of the money to improve the lot of the poor and particularly ease the hardship of orphans. (NAN)
