Breaking: Many Injured in Explosion in London Tube

A container exploded on a packed London Tube Friday morning leading to panic after several passengers suffered facial burns.

The latest incident to rock the England capital city occurred at around 8.15am as after underground train pulled into Parsons Green Station.

It is understood that the explosion was caused by a white container in a bag near one of the doors in a rear carriage, releasing some kind of gas or smoke, Mirror writes.

A terrified passenger on the scene said that a “fireball flew down carriage and we just jumped out open door”, while another woman, who had hurt her legs from the explosion, said she saw a large flame fill the carriage as commuters panicked and screamed for help.

It is not yet clear of this was a terrorist attack, but photos of the container which exploded appear to have wires coming out of it.

Wire crews – alongside police and ambulances – have already rushed to the scene as the train and the platform was evacuated, while the Metropolitan Police tweeted: “We are aware of an incident at #ParsonsGreen tube station. Officers are in attendance. More info ASAP”.

Meanwhile other trains and district lines have been shut down – with passengers told over the tannoy that authorities were dealing with a .”security incident”
