Halifax leaked my naked pictures to disgrace me – Mzbel

Popular Ghanaian Hiplife artiste, Mzbel has disclosed that she is still going out with the father of her four year old son.

I wanted to go to court but you know how things work in Ghana so I just forgot about it,’’ she said.

US musician Tom Petty dies aged 66

          

US musician Tom Petty has died in California aged 66, says a statement issued on behalf of his family.

Petty was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest at his Malibu home early on Monday.

He was taken to hospital, but could not be revived and died on Monday evening.

Petty was best known as the lead singer of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers rock band, producing such hits as American Girl, Breakdown, Free Fallin', Learning to Fly and Refugee.






Petty and the band were on the forefront of the heartland rock movement, alongside artists such as Bruce Springsteen and Bob Seger. The genre eschews the synthesizer-based music and fashion elements.

Petty was also a co-founder of the Traveling Wilburys group in the late 1980s, touring with Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne and George Harrison.

The debut album, Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1, proved to be an instant hit.

In 2002, Petty was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Petty was born in Gainesville, Florida, in 1950.

According to legend, he decided to become a musician after shaking Elvis Presley's hand in the 1950s. He traded his slingshot for a box of records and never looked back.

Aged 17, Petty dropped out of school to join Mudcrutch with future Heartbreakers Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench.

The band learned their craft by listening to pop radio, he once told NPR.

In the early 1970s, they moved to Los Angeles in the hope of scoring a record contract. Petty succeeded, but the band fell apart soon after.

It was not until 1975 that the musicians reunited and The Heartbreakers were formed. The quintet released their self-titled debut a year later.

This summer, the musicians performed in London's Hyde Park.

That show was intended to be a celebration of The Heartbreakers' 40th anniversary, but now serves as the band's UK swan song.

The band wrapped up their tour just a week ago.

Hip-hop star Future has been slammed for promoting an upcoming Las Vegas concert on Twitter, hours after the massacre which claimed 59 lives and left over 500 injured.

As celebrities flocked to social media to express their heartache over the tragedy ,a poster popped up on Future’s Twitter account advertising his appearance at Sin City nightclub Drai’s for its Horror Story Halloween event on 28 October.

Caring policewoman breastfeeds suspect's hungry baby outside courtroom

Chinese policewoman has touched the hearts of many worldwide after stepping in to breastfeed a suspect’s hungry baby outside a courtroom.

Touching photos show kind-hearted officer Lina Hao breastfeeding a four-month-old baby as her mother stood trial in northern China’s Shanxi Province.


Officer Lina got permission from the baby’s mother when the child began crying in the courtroom, Chinese media reports.

According to the Daily Telegraph, a colleague of the police officer captured the photos of her breastfeeding the child in a quiet corner of the building.

They were shared around the world after they were posted on the court’s social media platforms.

Officer Lina, who has just given birth herself, explained: 

“The baby wouldn’t stop crying and we were all worried.
“I am a new mother, I could feel how anxious the child’s mother would have been. All I thought about was to try my best and comfort the tiny baby.”

She said that any other police officer would have done the same, adding: “If I had been the mother, I would have hoped someone would help my baby too.”

The defendant was one of 34 people sentenced to prison for their connections to a bogus fundraising ring, the Global Times reports.

She pleaded guilty to charges of fraud, embezzlement and concealment of illegal gains, reports say.

Beware! Meter Bypass to Attract fine of N450,000 – NERC

                   

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has moved to clampdown on errant customers by announcing a fine of up to N450,000 for those who bypass their meters.

NERC’s decision to hit consumers with financial sanctions ranging from N50,000 to N450,000 for meter bypass has been endorsed by the 11 electricity distribution companies and the Federal Government through the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.

This was disclosed by the Vice Chairman, NERC, Sanusi Garba, who said the regulator had perfected plans to deploy prepaid meters in government’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies in order to avert future debt accumulation by the MDAs.




Garba further disclosed that the fine meted out to consumers will depend on the class of power consumption.

Punch reports that Garba’s disclosures were captured in the minutes of the 19th monthly power sector meeting, which read in part: “The vice chair, NERC (Garba), stated that the commission’s order on financial sanctions on meter bypass was ready for signature. He noted that the financial sanctions on meter bypass ranged from N50,000 to N450,000, depending on the class of customer.

“He stated that the order was made in consultation with the Discos and that the commission would hold a meeting with the relevant stakeholders to discuss issues surrounding eligible customer declaration, metering, review of the MYTO methodology and regulations on business continuity.”

The minutes added that Fashola “advised the commission to place the highest level of sanctions on meter bypass to deter customers from such act.”

All queries from the Discos on the MDA debts were answered in a memo to the Federal Executive Council, before Fashola suggested that payments should be made on undisputed claims, while the disputed MDA debts were reconciled.

The NERC vice chairman informed of a coming meeting with the minister to discuss tariff issue for some classes of customers as they look to consolidate on the recent gains in the power sector that saw generation reach a record 7000MW.

Bow Wow Dragged for Stunting on Instagram With an Empty Ciroc Bottle; He Replies

Last night, the rapper whose real name is Shad Moss, took to his Instagram to post a video of himself flaunting an empty Ciroc bottle, and many people did not believe that he actually bottle the drink himself.

Here’s why nobody believes any story he tells anymore: in May, the rapper posted a photo of a private jet and luxury cars with a caption that claimed he was travelling in New York for his new project. Shortly after, a fan spotted the rapper in the economy section of a plane and immediately tweeted the photo, stirring a major backlash against the rapper.

But that was not the first time he would be caught living a lie.

In 2016, the rapper and actor was busted after claiming he moved into a multi-million dollar mansion in Hollywood, next to Diddy and other superstars. But a fan later revealed that Bow Wow lives in a rented, regular apartment in Atlanta.

Also, Bow Wow had been caught using someone else’s cash photo on Instagram.

So, when he came on Instagram stunting with an empty bottle of Ciroc, folks did not believe he bought the drink himself.

“You lie about a private jet we know you couldn’t afford, we wouldn’t put it past you lying about a bottle…. If ciroc no less,” said one Instagrammer. And another added, “I mean Bow, you were lying about being on a private jet not too long ago. Issa fraud bottle.”

OUCH.

Police Tortured Me into Confessing- Herbalist Accused of Abducting and Selling Child Claims

In yet another spectacular allegation of police brutality, a 57-year-old herbalist, Tunde Ajibolorunsoro, also known as Professor, who is been held by the police for allegedly abducting a five-year-old girl in the Meiran area of Lagos State, had claimed that the police tortured him into confessing the crime.

According to the police, Professor sold the victim, Aishat Muyideen, to another herbalist and his neighbour, Tajudeen Makanjuola, for N60,000. But Professor is denying the claims to newsmen insisting that he was coerced into admitting it.

“I am a native doctor. On Wednesday, I was sitting outside my house in the evening when I saw some people, who said they were searching for a missing child. Around 11 pm when I retired to bed, some people shone torches on my house. I came out and asked them what happened. They said they were looking for a child.






“I advised them to report at the Meiran Police Station and they said they had done so. A few minutes after, I saw the torchlight again and came out.”

He said by the following morning, a large a crowd was at his house accusing him of abducting the child. He said his apartment and compound were ransacked but the girl was not found.

“The police later arrested me. They tortured me to the extent that I didn’t know when I confessed that I stole the child and sold her to Oluwo.”

Oluwo, 65, on his part, denied knowing anything about the disappearance of the girl and wondered how he got into the mess as his only dealings with Professor was as a neighbour.

According to him, “this man (professor) had said he was tortured to confess and that was why he mentioned me. If I know anything about this matter, I should die mysteriously. I am a herbalist in Meiran. I only know professor as a neighbour.”

Punch reports that the police command dismissed their claims, insisting that Professor led them himself to Oluwo. According to the Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi:

“The suspects specialise in kidnapping and selling children. After the father of the girl reported the case, investigation commenced. Investigation revealed that Ajibolorunsoro, aka professor, sold Aishat to one Makanjuola, aka Oluwo.”

Given the police’s notorious history of human rights abuses, it won’t be difficult for members of the public to relate a lot with the torture and coercion story. But sometimes, we still have to give the police some benefit of doubt.

Girl Allegedly Fakes Her Own Kidnap to Raise Money for Her Birthday

In a development that is as brazen as it could be laughable, a 20-year-old girl, Tohebat Adebayo, has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly planning her own kidnap.

The ‘victim’ who reportedly masterminded the abduction with her boyfriend, 30-year-old Afolabi Ogunremi, Adebayo, went on to demand N200,000 as ransom from her parents, a sum police reports suggests she intended to celebrate her birthday with.

According to a release made available by Ogun State Police Command spokesman, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, in Abeokuta yesterday, Miss Toheebat was reportedly kidnapped in Lafenwa area of Abeokuta, the state capital.





Her parents reported her disappearance to the police, explaining that she left home to the market but did not return. They later received a called from an unknown number and an unknown man informed them that their daughter had been kidnapped.

“Upon the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the area, Kayode Ayilara, led his detectives on a technical investigation of the case, which led them to an abandoned house inside the GRA, Ibara area of Abeokuta, where the girl was being kept,” Spokesman, Oyeyemi said.

“The discovery led to the arrest of Adebayo who happened to be the security man in the house. The suspect claimed to be the boyfriend of the girl and that they both planned to simulate her kidnap in order to raise money for her forthcoming birthday from the parents.”

According to Oyeyemi, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the Anti-kidnapping and Cultists unit of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation. The commissioner also advised parents to train their children properly so that they would not become an embarrassment to them later, Guardian reports.

Desperate times indeed calls for desperate measures. But stories like this leave us wondering if some people don’t see the obvious line between desperation and outright idiocy.

Ariana Grande has reacted to the second mass killing at a concert in 2017.

Recall that a white man identified as Stephen Paddock opened fire on thousands of concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest Festival while country singer Jason Aldean was playing. As at last night, 58 people had died and some 515 were reported as injured.

The shooting stirred major conversation on domestic terrorism and gun control, but as usual, neither the President of the United States, Donald Trump, nor the media have agreed to call the crime what it is.

For Trump, he branded the killings “an act of pure evil”, while the media have painted the shooter, a white man, as a “lone wolf”, with some even listing some of Paddock’s cute hobbies.

Of course, the politics of representation is stirring major debate on white privilege, and many upset people have described America as the face of the Racism.

And it is for this reason that many artists are speaking up, including singer Ariana Grande, whose Manchester Concert was disrupted by a bomb explosion on May 22, killing 22 people and injuring many others.

“My heart is breaking for Las Vegas. We need love, unity, peace, gun control & for people to look at this & call this what it is = terrorism,” said the pop star on her Twitter, and the post has garnered hundreds of thousands of reactions from people all over the world.

A gunman fired into a country music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, last night, killing more than 50 and injuring hundreds. The suspect, identified by police as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, opened fire from the window of a room at the Mandalay Bay Resort, which overlooked the Route 91 music festival.

Video and pictures from the scene show confusion and terror at the indiscriminate attack, and the tense hours of emergency organizing and rescue that followed.

Stolen wallet returned to owner 47 years later

A New Jersey man was reunited with his wallet nearly 50 years after it was stolen during a burglary at his parents' house.

Dennis Helmer, 78, of Westmont, received a call recently from Don Williams, who told him a wallet containing documents with his name was found in the ceiling of his Bellmawr home by a contractor.

The wallet's contents included Helmer's 1957 Selective Service card, a St. Christopher Medal, a 1956 receipt for his $168 tuition payment to Drexel University and photos including a snapshot of Helmer posing with his Camden Catholic High School prom date.






Helmer said the wallet was apparently stolen during a burglary at his parents' home in 1970.

He said he never knew it was missing until Williams called him.

He said the St. Christopher medal was a gift from his grandmother that has now been transferred to his current wallet.

"She said to always have it with me," Helmer told Philly.com.

Football Star Emmanuel Eboue diagnosed with HIV virus

Former Ivory Coast and Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue has been diagnosed with the deadly HIV virus, according to reports in Turkey.

On Monday, reports went rife in Turkey that Emmanuel Eboue has contracted HIV.

Alarm bells about Eboue health were raised on Sunday, when the player’s agent, Tekin Birinci, posted an update on Facebook. He wrote:

Unfortunately is true that we are facing some medical problems about Eboue. He will go to England… so we will know how serious it is.

It’s claimed the virus was discovered as the former Galatasaray and Arsenal star was having a medical for Cypriot side Limassol.

The HIV virus was detected in Ebuoe’s blood.









Arsenal picked up the loveable defender from Beveren in 2004, and after seven years at the club the African star moved to Galatasaray.

The only medal Eboue won at Arsenal was a UEFA Champions League runners-up award.

His time at Galatasaray, however, was far more successful. The 34-year-old Ivory Coast international won three Super Lig titles, the Turkish Cup and two Super Cups with the Istanbul club.

In 2016 he joined Sunderland, but before he could play a match Eboue was slapped with a one-year FIFA ban for failing to pay a former agent.

Romelu Lukaku pleads not guilty over noise complaint

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has pleaded not guilty after he was arrested in the United States earlier this year following a noise complaint.

The 24-year-old was given a "misdemeanour citation" in July after police responded to five other noise complaints at a Beverly Hills house.

The Belgium international did not appear in court in Los Angeles on Monday.

His lawyer, Robert Humphreys, entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf.

Commissioner Jane Godfrey adjourned the case to Los Angeles Airport Courthouse on 21 November.

After the hearing, city attorney James Eckart said, if found guilty, the striker faces both a fine and paying a sum to cover the cost of the police call-outs that occurred over five days.

Lukaku, who is training with Belgium, can opt not to appear in person at the hearing and can instead have a lawyer handle the misdemeanour citation on his behalf.







Police said they gave out "verbal warnings" after reportedly being called to a house party.

The incident happened the week before Lukaku joined Manchester United from Everton for an initial £75m.

He has scored 11 goals in his first 10 games for United.

A Beverly Hills police statement at the time said Lukaku, who had been on holiday in the United States, was released at the scene following the incident on 2 July.

Text: Matthew 24:12
The only reason that an abundance of iniquity would make anyone’s love for the Lord wax cold, is if he were not separated from that iniquity. As with Lot, a righteous man can vex his soul from day to day by hearing and seeing the unlawful deeds of the ungodly (2 Pet. 2:8).
We have to deal with the world’s system and those in it, but we need to be careful and maintain proper balance. We should shun relationships with those who influence us negatively more than we influence them positively.

Marriage is one area where this principle is especially true. There is no closer union in life than the marriage relationship. A believer who marries an unbeliever is directly violating this scripture and is toying with disaster. The Lord should be the most important person in our life. How could we possibly become “one” with a person who doesn’t love our Lord?

It is folly to think that after marriage an unbelieving spouse will accept the Lord. Although that does happen, it cannot be guaranteed. In fact, statistics are overwhelmingly against this happening. Regardless of that possibility, a believer who marries an unbeliever is directly violating God’s instructions here. It is not a good start to any marriage to spurn God’s Word.





Being unequally yoked with unbelievers just doesn’t work. Believers and unbelievers are as different as righteousness and unrighteousness, light and dark, Christ and the devil. One has faith and the other has none. One is the temple of God and the other an idol. Any Christian who doesn’t see this conflict is deceived.
