US Congress notified of sale of 12 Tucano fighter jets to Nigeria

The Pentagon has notified the U.S. Congress  of the sale to Nigeria of 12 Super Tucano A-29 planes and weapons worth $593 million, needed for the  fight against the militant group, Boko Haram.

The move on the sale, which included thousands of bombs and rockets and was originally agreed by former President Barack Obama’s administration, was announced by the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The sale was initially announced on 2 August.


The Super Tucano costs more than $10 million each and the price can go much higher depending on the configuration.

The Obama administration delayed the deal after incidents including the Nigerian Air Force’s bombing of a refugee camp in January that killed 90 to 170 civilians.

New details on Whitney Houston's lesbian relationship with her assistant

Whitney Houston's closest friends believe she was in a lesbian relationship with her assistant.
In a documentary about her life, those closest to Whitney say she was in a relationship with Robyn Crawford, 56, the woman who spent 20 years by her side working for her.

In the documentary,Whitney: Can I Be Me, Ellin Lavar, who dressed the singer, and her security guard, Kevin Ammons, confess that Whitney was bisexual and in love with her assistant.

After Whitney died in 2012, her notorious ex-husband Bobby Brown said she might still be alive if she was allowed to be open about her sexuality.

In the documentary, her former bodyguard David Roberts even said that Robyn and Brown would have physical fights over their shared loved of the singer, and the intensity of their relationship even led to her exile from Whitney's inner circle.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, documentary maker Nick Broomfield credits Robyn for keeping Whitney 'on the rails' but believes her fans are too obsessed with the intimate details of their relationship.
The filmmaker,  told MailOnline:

'It's almost like people want the condom or here's the stained sheet. I don't know what kind of conclusive proof one wants except this is the closest relationship for years that Whitney had.They shared a house together; they often shared the same bed. I think the most important thing is that it was the most productive, supportive and creative relationship that she had for probably 15 years

Ellin says:

 'I don't think she was gay, I think she was bisexual. Robyn provided a safe place for her… in that Whitney found safety and solace.'

Her former bodyguard David Roberts even said that Robyn and Brown would have physical fights over their shared loved of the singer.

'Bobby Brown and Robyn Crawford together were the equivalent of fire and water, petrol and a short fuse – they hated each other. Simple. They would battle for her affections and they would battle for her attention, mainly to identify with the hate they had for each other,' he said.

Whitney died in 2012 when she drowned after suffering a massive heart attack, brought on by years of cocaine abuse.
Her friends and family - and even Bobby Brown - believe that she might still be alive if she was allowed to be with Robyn.

Nick said:

'Bobby Brown loved Whitney enough to say if Robyn Crawford had been around he believed Whitney would still be alive. I think she did an amazing job of keeping her on the rails, keeping her more or less on time for interviews and that kind of thing.
'Certainly the people closest to Whitney, like Bobby Brown and Patti Howard, all feel that Robyn got driven out. If she stayed around, Whitney would probably be around too.'

Robyn worked as Whitney's assistant from 1979 and eventually earned the position of creative director before quitting in 2000.
Whitney's family and friends believe Robyn was pushed out by her mother Cissy Houston, who disapproved of their romance.

Young mum raped,killed and eaten by cannibal ring in South Africa

The family of a mother who was raped, murdered and eaten by a suspected cannibal ring have spoken of their heartache.

 Zanele Hlatshwayo, 25, who has been missing since July, is believed to be  a victim of a cannibalism ring that has so far led to the arrest of five men.
Her decomposing body was found after a man who claimed to be a traditional healer handed himself over to police last week and confessed that he was tired of eating human flesh.

Police officers had initially dismissed his statement, according to reports.
It is only after he produced a bloodied hand and foot as proof that he was immediately arrested. He led them to his rented home, where police found eight human ears in a cooking pot.

It is believed they were to be served to his customers, who were told they had magic properties and would convey money, power and protection.
Several other body parts were found stuffed in a suitcase.

The mother-of-one's sister, Nozipho Ntelele , told the BBC:

 "We can only imagine how she begged for her life, she died an extremely painful death.
"Her clothes were covered in grass and dust, which is a clear indication that she had been in a struggle to save her life."

Five men have since been arrested.

Police spokeswoman, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele, said the shocking crime unravelled on Friday night when the man allegedly confessed.She said:

 "When he was questioned, he produced part of a human leg and a hand.
"Further investigation led police to a house where they were met with a foul smell, and more human remains were found.
"A second suspect was also arrested in Estcourt and a third in the Amangwe area.
"More body parts were found."It is alleged the suspects raped, killed and cut up the body of a woman, which they then consumed.”

Police also found eight human ears in a cooking pot and other body parts belonging to his victims.

A local politician, Mthembeni Majola, told the BBC that some residents had willingly eaten human flesh.

Mr Majola also said the healer told his workers he could make them "invincible" if they ate the flesh.

Transgender soldiers are taking Donald Trump to court in a bid to crush his ban on their military service.

Trump prompted a backlash around the world last month by announcing on Twitter that he would not "accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity".


Now that decision is being challenged by six trans members of the US military, including the Army, Navy and Air Force.Their bid has been organised by the American Civil Liberties Union, which said the ban was discriminatory and violates the constitution.

The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to you. Part of His ministry in your life is that He makes the Kingdom of God real to you, so that while you’re in this earth, you live as though you’re in heaven. He imbues you with power and ability to live supernaturally and do supernatural things. No wonder Jesus said to His disciples, “…tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49), and when the Holy Spirit came, they were endued with power.

The reason you should boldly talk to a sinner about Jesus is because the Holy Spirit lives in you, and He’ll convict the sinner of his sins and let him know that Jesus Christ is real. We weren’t there when Jesus Christ was born, crucified, buried, or when He resurrected, or ascended, but we believe in Him. It’s become something you can’t take away from us, because the Holy Spirit has imprinted it in our hearts.

Jesus called Him the Spirit of truth—the Spirit of reality—the One who unveils truth to your spirit. If you want to know the truth about anything, the Holy Spirit will unveil it to you. Many walk in confusion because they haven’t taken advantage of His presence and personal ministry in their lives. He’s the One you need for an ever-joyous, ever-winning life.

There’s no Christianity without the Holy Spirit. He leads you in God’s perfect will. In your journey of faith, He guides you away from looming trouble, if your faith isn’t strong enough. However, if your faith is already built strong, He can lead you right into the trouble, because He knows you’re more than a conqueror.

The Holy Spirit is your captain. Fellowship with Him; talk to Him about anything and everything. He’s more real than the air you breathe, and He lives in you.

Dear Father, I thank you for the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life. He’s the captain of my life, and I follow as He leads me to fulfil my destiny in Christ. Luke 19:12-13 “He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.”

Text: Luke 19:11-27

The main purpose of this parable is to show that there would be a long period when Jesus would go away before returning to fulfill the prophecy about a physical kingdom on earth.

The nobleman’s servants were called to give an account for what they had done with their lord’s money that was delivered unto them. The servants were commanded to “occupy till I come.” These servants represent the followers of Jesus. However, being a follower of Jesus is more than simply not rejecting Him. It is an active commitment to serve Him. One of the ten servants had served himself and not His master. He did nothing with what his lord had given him. This wicked servant was stripped of what he had and it was given to the servant who had used his lord’s money wisely.

This illustrates that the Lord expects us to grow. This is made very clear in the parables of the kingdom which Jesus taught. In nearly every parable, growth or increase is expected. This servant who did nothing with what his lord gave him represents a believer who never grows or brings increase to God’s kingdom.

What was it that this wicked servant didn’t have that caused his master to take back the money he had given him? It wasn’t the tangible money that he received. He had kept that laid up in a napkin and still possessed it. What he was missing and what the other servant had that caused the lord to give this pound to him was faithfulness. Those who are faithful with what God has given them will be given more, and those who are wasteful will have what God has given them taken away and given to another. Use wisely what God has given to you.

Foreigner Butchered By Badoo Member In Ikorodu [Video]

Badoo members again struck leaving a foreigner severely injured.

The expatriate was lucky to have escaped alive after being attacked by a suspected member of the dreaded Badoo cult group in Ikorodu area of Lagos.

Bakery faces backlash for refusing to make wedding cake for Lesbian couple

A bakery in California is facing backlash after its owner refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

Eileen Del Rio said in a Facebook post that she and her fiancé went to Tastries Bakery in Bakersfield for a tasting and to pick out a design for their cake but were told to go somewhere else once the owner, Cathy Miller, realized that her fiancé was a woman.


"She don't condone same sex marriages so refused to make our wedding cake," the post read.

According to KGET, people have now called for a boycott of the bakery.

Miller told the outlet that she's Christian and because of her religious beliefs she doesn't celebrate same-sex marriage.

"The ceremony, when you're getting married is in the eyes of the Lord, okay, and that's a celebration of a union that God has brought together and that's a whole lot different than coming in and wanting a cookie," she said.

Miller said for the past five years whenever a same-sex couple comes in for a wedding cake she refers them to her competitor, Gimmee Some Sugar.

It has never been a problem," Miller told KEGT TV. "I'm really hurt by all this. I don't think we should be picked on because of our beliefs."

The Rivers State Police Command have arrested a suspected cannibal and member of a notorious kidnap gang, Roland Peter, for killing, beheading and using the liver and intestines of his victim to prepare ‘pepper’ soup and plantain pottage for himself and his gang.

The suspect was among the kidnappers that abducted, killed and beheaded one Pastor Samuel Okpara from Edoha in Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state on August 15, 2017.

According to Punch, State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Zaki Ahmed, who spoke with newsmen while parading Peter and 22 other suspects at the State Command in Port Harcourt, explained that the suspect was also in possession of riffles belonging to the gang.

He disclosed that the kidnap gang, including the leader, who was simply identified as Justus and also known as High Tension, had been terrorising some part of Ahoada East LGA.

Ahmed said, “The Command, in continuation of her onslaught against kidnapping, arrested one Roland Peter, a member of a notorious gang that kidnapped Pastor Samuel Okpara from Edoha Ahoada East LGA in Rivers State on August 15, 2017.
“Pastor Okpara was kidnapped, beheaded and his liver and intestines were used to prepare pepper soup and plantain pottage. He was arrested while preparing the meal for his gang.
“He (Peter) is also alleged to be in possession of the gang’s riffles. The leader of the gang is one Justus (surname unknown), but popularly known as High Tension from Abarikpo in Ahoada LGA. The suspect (Peter) is helping the police in their investigation.”

Brother Of Bride-To-Be Swept Away By Flood Pens Heartbreaking Tribute On Facebook

Ben Chuks Ihionu, brother to bride-to-be, Olivia who recently lost her life at a church in Anabra has posted  a heartbreaking tribute to his sister.  Olivia, died in August after she was swept away by flood in Anambra State.

Ben took to Facebook and wrote:

"I've been dreading to post this as I keep hoping and wishing that it's all a horrible nightmare. I can't believe you're gone. To think we went from planning a wedding to preparing for a burial. I will miss you terribly. Sleep on sweet sister. I'm sure you're in a better place. I love you and I will miss you Kaka" 

Another relative peened a tribute to the late Olivia writing:

I experienced a deep loss last night.
Uchechi Olivia Ihionu unexpectedly pass away at the age of .
Uchechi was a lovely and vibrant daughter who has been taken away too early and so sudden. She was my mother. She was my favorite. Uchechi just got engaged to a young handsome gentleman she so much loved. We were all looking forward to the wedding this December.
She announced to the world her engagement and on daily basis reminds all the joy of being in love.
Here was a child who had it all. Beautiful, intelligent and virtuous. Her smile would melt steal - her laughter could wake the dead. Back with two masters decree from England, she served in the CBN Abuja with distinction and was so hopeful of an employment offer from the organization.
She had a lovely family - blessed tremendously in every facet. Trained from her first cry to blossoming to be great. She had it all covered. The world was at her feet. Literally nothing would stop her.
She was my photographer last Wednesday during my brother's inauguration. And a million pictures she took for me. There and then was the last sweet smiles offered.
Her last post yesterday on Facebook was some pictures and her sad expressions on the family poisoning death in Okija. Never did she know our first post the next day would be of her own death.
The very last of many comments she made on the family picture I posted yesterday was "My people...My Family..."
Was she saying Goodbye?
We cannot know for certain how long we have here. Did she had a premonition? Of recent she was so powerfully prayerful. Exuding gratia. I am so proud so proud of her spirit; but little did we know that God had planned a rude shock for us. ...and she was taken in His Adoration presence at Uke.
God you have a way of shaking our resolve. But we take solace in the fact that we live to die.
Smiling today for the cries that tomorrow will bring.
We are so proud of her and know that she's in peace.
Uchechi, my dearest darling, we will miss you forever and can’t wait for the day when we can be together again to laugh, share, hold each other and say I love you.

Help me save the union-Man begs as court dissolves marriage over wife's barrenness

A Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan,  on Monday  dissolved the four-year-old marriage between one Labake Fagbola  and her husband, Seun, over barrenness and  exploitation.

Mr Ademola Odunade, the President of  the court held that the court was clearly convinced that Seun was taking undue advantage of Labake’s   childlessness.

“ In the interest of peaceful coexistence, the union between Labake and Seun has ceased to be.
“ To forestall any crisis and cheating, Labake shall give any of the property she is willing to give away to Seun  because she owns the bakery business in contention.
“Consequently, both of you shall maintain orderliness after this judgment,” said the arbitrator.

Labake had earlier told the court that her husband was taking undue advantage of her barrenness to exploit her and sleep with her employees.

“My lord, I have been through  hell as a wife to Seun in the last four years as a result of my inability to conceive.
“All the steps I have taken so far to ensure pregnancy had  yielded no result.
“Seun, to whom I devoted all that I have made in life, has done little or nothing to support me in my attempt to get pregnant.
“Worse  still, he has suddenly and ungratefully converted the business I founded with my hard-earned resources.

“He is now laying claim to the bakery that I established, thereby, pushing me aside.
“Furthermore, I own the lion share of the money used in the purchase of the landed property which Seun had  also assumed sole ownership of.
“May be he has totally given up on the hope that I might ever conceive again.
“He now sleeps with my female employees and apprentices to the extent that he is even ready to marry one of them,” Labake said.

Seun,  who resides at Femi Taiwo Street, Joyce B area of Ibadan, however, opposed the dissolution of the union..

The respondent also  denied all the allegations levelled against him.

“My lord, it is very true that she provided the capital used in the running of the business, but it is now a jointly owned venture.
“I have also been providing both the technical support and direction.
“I am not denying the fact that she possesses most of the inputs, but my impact cannot be wished away.
“Please, my lord, I still love Labake. Help me save the union,” Seun had urged the court.

Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader,Director Nnamdi Kanu has dared the Federal Government to re-arrest him.

He is threatening that anyone who attempts to arrest him will be crushed. Kanu spoke yesterday at the Boys Technical College (BTC) on Faulks Road in Aba North Local Government Area of Abia State.

Describing Aba as the “Spiritual Land of Biafra”, Kanu  said:

“Where we are is Biafra land. Aba is the spiritual capital of Biafra land. We started in Aba in 2015 at CKC (Christ the King Catholic Cathedral). That day, heaven authenticated our move that IPOB will restore Biafra and that’s what we’ve come to do. We died in Aba at National High School.
“They shot and killed us in other places in Biafra land when they were protesting for my release. As our people rest in the grave, we’ll never rest until Biafra is restored. I don’t care what they say in Abuja. I don’t give a damn what they say in Lagos.
“I’m a Biafran and we are going to crumble the zoo. Some idiots who are not educated said that they’ll arrest me, and I ask them to come. I’m in Biafra land. If any of them leaves Biafra land alive know that this is not IPOB. Tell them that’s what I said.

“Tell Buhari that I’m in Aba and any person who comes to arrest Nnamdi Kanu inBiafra land will die here. I’ll never go on exile, I assure you.
“Some people talk about restructuring; are we doing restructuring of Nigeria now? Are we doing fiscal federalism? Are we doing devolution? What we want is Biafra

“Forget all the nonsense they write about us. We are not slowing down and no man born of a woman can stop us. They thought we are joking and God gave us a simple message that no one can stop us. The movement to restore Biafra is unstoppable.

“The message of heaven is what I bring to you. Don’t be afraid. The plans of our enemies are not going to be actualised. The enemies are planning, but we are formidable.
“We are going to boycott Anambra State election. After Anambra 2017, in 2019, there’ll be no elections in Biafra land. Signed and sealed. My message is that there’ll not be election in Biafra land ever again until they give us date for referendum.”

Some of IPOB members who spoke to reporters at the venue said that they shunned  church to listen to their leader and a man that God destined to use to liberate the people of the Southeast and the old Eastern Region from the hands of corrupt and insensitive leaders.

They, however, vowed to join hands with Kanu to ensure that Biafra was realised, no matter how long it would take.

I Stole My Boss' Car To Further My Education - Car Wash Attendant Confesses

Police has arrested a car wash attendant, Sam Ogechi, who confessed to stealing a Toyota Venza SUV belonging to his boss to raise money for his university education.

The suspect, who arrested at Ohafia, Abia State, where he fled to with the vehicle, explained that he planned to sell the SUV for N1.5m.

Ogechi stole that car just 48hours after he was employed on August 3, 2017. He parked the car at the Games Village, Umuahia.

The 28-year-old explained that he borrowed N80,000 from a friend to repaint the vehicle.

He said,

“I convinced one of my friends, Umeh, to lend me N80,000. I gave the painter N50,000, and used the balance to fuel the vehicle and sort out some expenses. I wanted to sell the SUV to raise money for my education.”

According to police, the owner of the vehicle had asked Ogechi to help wash the car before he disappeared with it.

“When the woman asked if he knew how to drive, he said no. No sooner did she she step out of her shop than Ogechi disappeared with the SUV. We began to track him. We later arrested him in Ohafia, using a female bait,” a detective said.

Bride-to-be who died at a church program in Anambra to be buried today

Body of bride-to-be Miss Olivia Uchechi Ihionu who lost her life at Adoration Ministry Uke on 15 August 2017, to be buried today, 28th of August.

Olivia, was the first daughter of her parents and she got engaged last Christmas,. She was preparing for her wedding slated for later this year before the tragedy struck.

According to an eyewitness, she went to urinate in a nearby gutter after arriving the prayer ground and suddenly got missing. Due to heavy rainfall that day, she was apparently drowned. It was later discovered that she fell into gutter, her lifeless body was found in the neighbouring village the following day.

23-year old sentenced to jail for stealing garri

A 23-year old has been sentenced to 18-months imprisonment for stealing a bag of garri. The He was sentenced by a Mararaba Grade 1 Area Court at Aso Pada, Nasarawa State, on Monday.

The man Abubakar, who resides at Shopping Centre Mararaba, was sentenced on one-count of theft after he pleaded guilty to the crime and begged for leniency.

The convict said that hunger led him to crime.

“It was hunger that led me to do it, I have stayed without food for days and I needed money to buy food.
“Have mercy on me and I promise never to do it again,’’ he pleaded.

The judge, however, gave the convict N5,000 option of fine.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Agabi Auta, told the court that one Anjenu John of Aku village, Mararaba, reported the matter at the ‘A’ Divisional Police Headquarters Mararaba on Aug. 25.

Auta said, “The defendant went into the complainant’s shop located along Darika Jummat Mosque, Mararaba and stole a bag of garri valued at N15, 000.

The prosecutor added that the defendant had been caught as he made to leave with the bag.  He also confessed to stealing the item with a view to selling it and get money to buy other food items.

Auta said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 287 of the Penal Code.
