Police detain 2 officers who escorted Davido for reckless shooting in Lagos

According to new report by Naij, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) disclosed that they have detained and tried two of its personnel in orderly room who had escorted popular singer, Davido, for alleged reckless shooting in Lagos. As seen on a video that went viral on social media showed two policemen allegedly shooting into the air on the street in a moving vehicle.

According to the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Abayomi Shogunle in charge of the Public Complaints Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU), told newsmen that following complaints by members of the public, the case was immediately registered by the unit.

Shogunle said: “On August 1, PCRRU was notified about a video in circulation on social media in which some men alleged to be policemen were seen shooting in the air on the street in a moving vehicle.”

He further added that the incident happened on Monday, July 31 at 5 p.m along the Murtala Mohammed International Airport road in Lagos. Shogunle said a popular Nigerian Musician, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido engaged them to provide escort for him to his house while returning from abroad.

He reported that: “Along the way as seen in the video which has been confirmed from investigation, the two policemen involved started shooting into the air for no just cause. They have been identified and they have been in detention since then because investigation was conducted and after that they have been tried in orderly room and punishment has been recommended. We are only waiting for the appropriate police authority to review the punishment then we will make the full details known to the public. One thing is clear that the conduct of those policemen as seen in that video is unacceptable, that is not part of what our officers should be engaged in. They are no longer involved in any duty where they will carry any weapon. They will be in detention until the process is over before they will be released. Investigation has shown that they have no justifiable reason to have expended or fire their weapons into the air.”

However, the two policemen were attached to the 20 police mobile force squadron and were attached to a private security company, Infinity Security Company.

I don’t care really care about winning awards- YCEE

Nigerian rapper, Ycee is obviously one of the rappers breaking new grounds in the country. Although the talented singer and rapper lost the prestigious Headies Next Rated Award to Mr Eazi in December 2016, he is not bothered.

In a recent interview, the rapper commented on losing the award.

‘I am here to do music and that’s my primary calling. Awards and other recognitions are just like icing on the cake. Inasmuch as my fans love what I’m doing and I’m able to keep them satisfied, then I’m good. However, not getting the award is a form of motivation for me. It is not like I am not good enough but I always strive to get better, and I will continue doing that. Don’t also forget that I won the Rookie of the Year award at the same Headies two years ago, so I guess one cannot win it all. I can assure my fans that the best is yet to come from me. I have a lot of great things in stock and they would be unveiled at the right time.’

Since the 2016 edition of the Headies, he has released an EP titled The First Wave.

I Am Waiting For My Doctors To Give Me The Green Light To Travel - President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has spoken from London, letting every Nigerian know he is okay and will soon be in the country.

Speaking with the media team who came to London to see him, Mr. President said he is only awaiting orders from his Doctors to travel, once he gets the green light, he will come back to Nigeria.

“I’ve learnt to obey my doctor’s orders, rather than be the one issuing the orders. Here, the doctor is absolutely in charge,” Buhari told his media team who had gone to the United Kingdom to see him.

The delegation, led by Information and Culture Minister Lai Mohammed, also comprised the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina; the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu; Personal Assistant on Digital/Online Media, Lauretta Onochie; and the Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

“When the team expressed delight at the much improved health of the President, he retorted, ‘I feel I could go home, but the doctors are in charge. I’ve now learnt to obey orders, rather than be obeyed.”

When told that prayers were going on fervently for him, not only in Nigeria, but all over Africa, and round the world, he was quoted as saying: “What we did in The Gambia early this year fetched us a lot of goodwill on the African continent. It gave us a lot of latitude. I thank all those who are praying. May God reward them.”


President Buhari, the statement said, sent appreciation to all Nigerians, expressing hope that he would be with them soon.

45-Year Old Rapes 9-Year Old To Death In Kebbi

A 45 year old man, has been arrested for killing a 9-year old in Kebbi. The said man Dantani, arrested by the Kebbi State Police Command for allegedly raping the nine-year-old boy to death in Zauro town.

Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim M. Kabiru, while disclosing this at a media briefing yesterday said,

“One Dantani Sani, 45, of Sabon Gari area of Zauro town, was arrested based on information that he had sexual intercourse with one Ibrahim Muhammadu Dangi, male, now deceased, aged nine years, of the same village, against the order of nature.”

Kabiru added that the suspect would be charged to court for culpable homicide.

Kidnapper Evans Also Involved In Crimes In South Africa, More Of His Associates Arrested

New report following on going investigation of suspected kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, has revealed that he was also involved in crimes in South Africa.
Police spokesman, Mr. Moshood Jimoh, told The Nation that wealthier associates of Evans, have been uncovered during the on going investigation.

He said:

 ”You may recall that a Federal High Court granted us a three month remand warrant for Evans. We are just into the second month now and before the expiration of the third month, it is expected that we should be taking him to court.

The little time is to ensure that we conduct a thorough and detailed investigation. So we need a little time to properly round things up and ensure that he is properly prosecuted because Nigerians will not be happy if we lose such a case in court on the basis of technical matters.” .

 “In the course of this investigation we have other prime suspects including people who broke away from Evans’ gang to start their own gang – they left Evans to go and do a similar (kidnapping) business.

Some of the suspects we later picked after detectives’ interactions with Evans are even living larger than Evans. We are going to ensure that we don’t make things public until we gather all our evidence towards securing a conviction in court. .
I won’t give you figures but they are many suspects. There is a special group of criminal suspects that are referred to as ‘catchers’; in criminal syndicates, they are the people that identify targets and give information about innocent people."

“Jesus Is Coming Soon, I Want To Make Heaven” – Obasanjo

One time President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has said that Christians should be prepared for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ as the end of the world is near.

Speaking on Saturday during the 2017 Camp Meeting Concert by Apostolic Faith Church Choir and Orchestral at the Camp Ground Igbesa in Ogun State, the former president said that as a person, he would like to make to heaven so as to sing with the angels.

His words: “You have to be fully prepared for the second coming of our Lord, there is no compromise.
“I have a friend who will always say that when we get to heaven that we will be exhausted praising God and it will be like a prison and will be very boring.
“But what I have seen this afternoon by the choir, I will want to go to heaven and join the hosts to sing.
“If this is an example of what praising God in heaven will be, then I want to be part of it. If what I have seen here is an indication of how heaven will be, I will like go to heaven.
“Jesus Christ came to the world to show us the way to salvation and eternal life. We have a good heritage and we have everything to be proud of.”

Mr. Obasanjo said God could not fix Nigeria except Nigerians invite God into their lives collectively and individually.

“We have a lot of things wrong with this country, if all Nigerians are sincere.

“Nigeria can be fixed by God but we have to invite Him into our lives. What we have to do about this country is in our hands.

“Gods grace abounds when we do not abuse it,” he said.
