17-Year-Old Warri Orphan Wins ₦120m Shell University Scholarship

nine years, Master Lucky Ayolu, from Ekeni in Southern Ijaw Local
Government of Bayelsa State, lost his dad and mother. suddenly, life
became cruel to him as he learnt to fend for himself. He notified our
correspondent that he took to fishing to pay for his charges in primary
and secondary schools, as his grandmother, who he resided with, did not
have sufficient.However, as somebody who is destined to succeed in life, Ayolu, now 17 years, has become a beneficiary of Shell Petroleum Development Company’s overseas scholarship.
The scholarship design, whose annual allowance is about N120m, and organised by Bassan West Cluster Development Board, saw Ayolu as one of the 14 beneficiaries.
Ayolu, who talked to hit Metro, said his life was a testimony that “absolute belief in God and hard work are very significant in life.”
He said, “Life has been mean to me. But today, I have every cause to glorify God for raising me up after my fantasy.
“At a issue, I lost wish completely and begun nursing the concept of taking my life. It was so bad that when I heard about this scholarship, I could not raise transport fare to the venue of the examination.”
Lucky Ayolu told Naija news.com.ng that one of his kin assisted him financially to get the scholarship pattern and furthermore provided him transport fare from Ekene to Yenagoa where the check took location.
“At the end of the check, I was successful. I am going to read Computer research at Wisconsin University, Ghana. The control and respect has been my lifelong ambition and I am appreciative that God has used my community and case to make the illusion a reality.”
He advised other youths in difficult position not to give up, saying that with hard work and believe in God, they would achieve their yearns.
He furthermore urged the authorities at all grades to look into the plight of the orphans in the homeland.

A jailed rapist will discover this week whether he contracted HIV from his victim.Richard Thomas, 27, collapsed when police informed him about his victim's medical status and is still waiting to hear if he has contracted the virus.

He was shocked when he was told and asked to be taken to hospital, Liverpool Crown Court heard.
He had let himself into her home in Leigh, Greater Manchester, uninvited in the middle of the night and she awoke to find him molesting her from behind.
"She froze and no words were exchanged. He pulled up his shorts and left," said Harry Pepper, prosecuting.
"He was arrested and interviewed and said he had been drinking heavily, taken cocaine and ecstasy and could not recall the incident," he added.
His barrister, Virginia Hayton, said that he still cannot recall the attack but when told about it he said that the woman "would not lie, she tells the truth. If she says I have done it, I have done it."
Jailing Thomas for five years and four months, Judge Mark Brown said he had committed "this dreadful offence" while she lay asleep, having taken a sleeping tablet, and left her distressed and anxious.
He ordered him to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Thomas, of Sandringham Drive, Leigh, pleaded guilty to molesting the woman on July 20 this year.
Miss Hayton said that Thomas, who has previous convictions but none for sexual offences, "is remorseful and cannot understand why he did it and it is troubling him."
She said that he will not find out the result of his HIV test until Friday and has had the worry of the outcome hanging over him.

Baby Born With Ears Under His Jaws (See Photos)
**Jesus, save your children...**Birth defects are very common in the world, some more than others. Sometimes we see some that catches our attention and make us wonder whether or not we have seen it before. In this case, it seems a rare deformity that causes a baby born with ears under her chin. The image, taken from the popular photo site Imgur shows a newborn with some cranial defects such as deformed mouth and jaw, but the major highlight is the location of the ears.
The position of the ears in this case is a bit reminiscent of where gills are located in an aquatic animal let's say a fish. Apparently, they fail to migrate to the side of the head after they were formed. In the pregnancy first trimester, the ears cartilage formed along the jaw line. Sometime during the second quarter, the ears typically migrate to their proper place on the side of the head. This is the normal process that seems to have failed during the second quarter, which led to the low placement of the ears and also deformed the jaw-line. The Mayo Clinic states that by 18 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus should be able to hear and ears are fully formed, but likewise is the case of this baby...

A man of 25 years was arrested at the airport in Benin trying to seek
the area of operations in order to access the airside, said Nigeria
Aviation Authorities on Monday, nine days after a teenager ran track for
the same airport, hidden in the wheel of an Arik flight and discovered
unharmed after a 35 minute flight in Lagos.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, said Leroy Ugaga was
arrested on Monday by a joint patrol team of FAAN and the Nigerian Air
Force.
"The offender was seen and observed for a few minutes by members of the
patrol team while attempting to gain access to the airside and as soon
as his intentions became clear, he was swiftly arrested and handed over
to the police for further questioning, "said Yakubu Dati, FAAN's

Pastor Rapes Woman In Church During ‘Spiritual Bath’
A 46-year-old Pastor, Olamide Sobowale, of Glory Church of Christ
Aladura, Oke-Itoku, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has been ordered to be
remanded in prison for allegedly raping a woman while bathing in his
church backyard.
Pastor Sobowale, who was arraigned before a Magistrate Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, yesterday, was accused of raping one Dupe Makinde, 30, who lives in Isaje, Abeokuta, while taking a spiritual bath allegedly recommended by the pastor.
The prosecuting counsel, Paul Etusi, told the court that the accused grabbed the complainant while she was in a bathroom within the church premises and raped her.
Etusi said the complainant had already put the soap on her face as she began bathing when the pastor suddenly entered the bathroom, grabbed and raped her with soap on her face.
According to Etusi, the accused had told Mrs. Makinde that he had a vision about the her and asked her to come for deliverance in his church.
He said: “He asked the woman to come to the church to take a spiritual bath for her deliverance, but, while the complainant was taking her bath, the accused barged into the bathroom, grabbed the woman and raped her.
“The accused has committed an offence contrary to section 357 and punishable under section 358 of criminal code of law of Ogun State, Nigeria, 2006.”
Magistrate A. Araba after listening to the prosecuting counsel, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison till he gets advice from the Director of Public Prosecution and adjourned the case till September 16,2013.
