Traggic: Internationally renowned motivational speaker,Myles Munroe, wife die in plane crash

Dr. Myles Munroe A small plane crashed Sunday afternoon in the Bahamas (midnight in Nigeria), killing internationally known minister and motivational speaker Myles Munroe, his wife and several other people, Munroe’s ministry said Sunday night.

The Bahamian aviation ministry confirmed that there were “some fatalities” among the nine people on board. Dave Burrows, head of youth ministries for Munroe’s non denominational Bahamas Faith Ministries International, said at a hastily convened news conference Sunday night that Munroe’s wife, Ruth — also a widely known figure in international evangelical circles — and the ministry’s senior vice president and pastor, Richard Pinder, were among those killed in the crash.

Upcoming act claims ownership of SeanTizzle’s ‘Perfect gentleman’

An up and coming musician based in Ibadan, Oyo State has accused Sean Tizzle and his producer, D’tunes of sampling his hook on one of the songs in Sean Tizzle’s debut album. Johnson Oluwadamilare Michael a.k.a Portah, said the song in question, ‘Perfect gentleman’ and in an exclusive chat with NET , has stated that he had recorded his own version of the song about two years ago but gave the song to D’tunes in January 2014 while he was seeking for his help in helping to promote it.

Portah said he was however shocked when he heard the hook of the same song in Sean Tizzle’s ‘Perfect Gentleman’ without anybody having sought his consent.

Narrating his story to NET, Portah who is an undergraduate at Lead City University where he is studying Economics, explained that D’tunes
had promised to help him get a record deal but betrayed him.

‘Last year, around July 2013, I went for an interview at Star Fm in Ibadan with Vector , myself and Sean Tizzle, then he just started promoting his ‘Sho le’ song, they just shot the video for the song. That day, Sean Tizzle was with D’tunes, so while I was trying to make my way to greet D’tunes, he recognized me and was like wow. Portah, what’s up? I was surprised that he (D’tunes) knew me, he said he was on my BBM before, so he asked about my record label and I told him I don’t have a label yet, so he was like wow, he thought I had a record label, if he had known I wasn’t under any record label, he would have signed me before he signed Sean, so he said it’s not too late, that he’ll get me on the label.

‘So we agreed to hook up the next day in Lagos. The next day I came to Lagos to meet him, we met at The palms in Lekki, that day, he came with Sean Tizzle and Rico White , we watched a movie, he paid for it and from there we went to his house, so he was like, right now he can’t sign me, but if I can give him sometime, he’ll get me a record deal because he knows a lot of people looking for artistes to sign. So since last year we didn’t see or talk, he didn’t call me till January 2 this year when he left a message for me on Instagram that I should call him urgently.

‘So I called him immediately and he asked where I was, I told him I was in Ibadan, and he asked if I could come to Lagos and I was like ‘sure I can come. So he told me to bring my songs so we could talk about my project, he asked how many songs I had and I told him I have about 21 songs, so he said I should bring everything so he can listen to them and we’ll talk. When I dropped the phone, I was very happy so I burnt the songs on two CDs then I came to Lagos. When I saw him, he took me to his studio; he copied all the songs to his system including my released and unreleased songs. Then he was like, actually he’s not the one that wants to sign me, that he has a friend in UK that wants to start a label, but he wants him to be the front man for the label, so he said when the guy comes back he’ll call me over so we can all meeting and make a deal. That day, he told me Sean Tizzle was dropping his album in April and he even played all the songs for me because at that time the album was already set but the song ‘Perfect Gentleman’ wasn’t recorded yet, I remember very well that Soundcity’s DJ Shabsy was with us that day at his studio in Lekki, around Osapa London area. Then he asked if I have any song I could write for Sean Tizzle so he
could include it in his album, and I was like sure, I can do that. So, since that day he didn’t get back to me at all, and whenever I call him, he doesn’t pick up my calls, if I send him texts, he won’t reply.

‘Then the next thing, Sean dropped his album, and I didn’t even buy the album because I’ve heard all the songs on the album before, so I wasn’t really eager to listen to the songs. Later I just heard one of my friends singing ‘Omo dada lomo yen o’, and I was like ‘na my song be dat o, shey you don remix am ni’, and he was like no, it’s a song from Sean Tizzle’s album. So I went online and downloaded the song and I heard my hook on the song. When I heard it, I called D’tunes immediately and I was like: ‘Baba how far, you no even get back to me, I con dey hear my Lamba for Sean album’, he was like Portah, wetin you talk, he was stammering, you know say I no fit do that kind thing for you now. He now asked if I was in Lagos so I could come see him. So I said I’ll come, but I didn’t go, then the third day he called me to ask why didn’t I

come again and all that, he even said what do I want him to do, I was very surprised because he has never called me before in his life. After that day, I didn’t hear from him again, then a few weeks later we chatted on Twitter and he was like ‘Portah I no tiff your song o, even Sean has never heard my own song before’ so he started changing it for me, and I was like this is not fair. I felt really bad, stupid (actually) because, it’s foolish of me for at my age to take all my songs to you and copy on his system, I’m very well known in Ibadan, Oyo State as a whole and its environs. To be honest, I actually thought he wanted to work with me and help me, but he just changed everything. Initially, I didn’t want to say anything about it but people around me that knew the whole story and process were like no, I should voice out because if I let it go, he still has 21 of my songs and he can still use othersnwhenever he likes.

When asked what’s next for him, Portah said,
‘For me, I don’t think (about) D’tunes. He’s been on my BBM for almost four years but we became close about 2 years ago and he’s been talking about deals and getting me a record deal but it didn’t happen. The sad part is that D’tunes knows me very well, he knows that I sing, I write and even produce, he could have just told me that he wanted to sample it for Sean and honestly I won’t object.

Notable music producer, D’tunes whose real name is Adesanya Doyinsola, has over the years been responsible for producing several hit songs like Iyanya ’s ‘Kukere’, Sean Tizzle’s ‘Sho le’ and
others.

In his reaction to the allegations against him , he spoke to NET through his manager, Johnson saying: ‘The guy is fabricating all these, because the song ‘Perfect Gentleman’ was done with me
and a lot of other people in the studio.’

On Marriage

It has been wonderful and interesting. I thank God for it. As I said earlier, it requires more of responsibility than when one was living the life of a bachelor. I really enjoy my marriage and I thank my understanding wife who takes care of the home while I am away.

On how he relaxes

Yes, I do. What I usually do is that I take a time out after a hectic work. I travel and I may leave one of my phones on in case of any important call. Most times when I am off work, my management team takes care of other things. My brother, I must take time to free myself from any stress either for months or weeks because life is very vital. One is only useful when one is alive. My body is the engine room of what I give out. 

If I don’t have the physical energy, I won’t be able to give, as well as sustain my best. I have to make sure that my body and soul are in order. This is why I go on vacation. I also unwind, but it is not what I do all the time. I have reduced the number of times I go to club as a married man. You will agree with me that there are some things that I would have to minimise because I have much more responsibilities now. More so, I have exercise apparatus in the house to keep me fit. I love reading books and playing games, especially the play station. I have a lot of things that can take my mind away from acting for a period of time.

Davido Fails To Pick Up Another International Award as He Loses Out at Soul Train Awards

Davido is arguably the best artist in Africa this year but his appearance in the international stage wasn't too good considering the level he's operating right now. Aside BET, Davido has failed to win any other international award. Don't get me wrong o, I know it is not easy to win the BET award.

The self acclaimed Omo Baba Olowo was nominated for almost every
international award there is this year
but has failed to pick up another, which is the Soul Train Awards which held last night November 7th.

Davido was nominated for the Best International Performance category but lost out to Machel Montano’s – “Ministry of Road (M.O.R.)”.

Davido also got nominated for MTV EMA and MOBO but he didn’t win.

Well, if you ask me, I would say Davido has made all of us proud already. Being recognized by Soul Train is a very big deal and ofcourse it shows you are doing your work very well.

The Soul Train Awards 2014 rolled
through Las Vegas’ Orleans Arena on Friday night. Hosted by Wendy Williams, the show celebrated R&B’s past and present stars with show- stopping medleys, reunions, and some all-star tributes.

Chris Brown, who led with seven
nominations , kicked off the show with a dance-heavy medley of his hits including “Yo (Excuse Me Miss),” “New Flame,” and “Loyal.” The R&B superstar also went home with the awards for Best Collaboration and Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year for “Loyal.” ’

90s R&B icons Jodeci reunited for the first time in years to perform a nostalgic medley of fan favorites including “Freek’n You,” “Come & Talk to Me,” “Stay,” and “Forever My Lady.” The North Carolina quartet also debuted its new single “Nobody Wins” with help from B.o.B.

Kool & the Gang was honored with the Legend Award and received a star-studded tribute from Tamar Braxton, Joe, Elle Varner, MC Lyte, Doug E. Fresh, Tank, and Ma$e, who performed his Kool & The Gang-sampled hit “Feels So Good” with Total’s Kima Raynor and Pamela Long.

Lil’ Kim, Missy Elliott, and Da Brat
had the crowd on its feet as they closed out the evening with a performance of their 1996 platinum single “Not Tonight (Remix)” in tribute to Kool & the Gang.

Other performers included Tinashe,
who served up her hit “2 On,” and Nico & Vinz, who went home with Best New Artist. Tamar Braxton hosted the red carpet pre-show.

The Soul Train Awards will air on
Centric and BET on November 30 at 8 p.m.

His father is a legendary actor, Oga Bellow, but Femi Adebayo has gone from living under the shadow of his father to creating an niche for himself in the Yoruba movie industry.

After all it is make-believe, it has nothing to do with who you really are. For an instance, I am a Muslim but I have had to play the role of a pastor many times over," he assured.

In as much as his wife doesn't complain about his job, there is a level of tolerance any woman can manage. Every woman has her threshold of tolerance.

"I am lucky I have a wife who understands my job but I try as much as possible not to overstep my boundaries when it comes to the opposite sex."

He also talks about the most embarrassing thing a female fan has done to him.

"Ah, she jumped on me, kissed me and told me that she had promised herself that whenever she sees me she was going to do that to me. Fortunately, I was with my wife that day and I told her I was sorry and she said it was okay. It’s one of those anxious moments of our job. Before the fan left she apologised to me and to my wife."

Nollywood actress, Shan George, who is currently still enjoying grand motherhood, says she does not have any business if her grand child was born out of wedlock as she is happy that the child is alive.

The actress stated that some people might see child bearing out of wedlock as an issue but for her, she does not see it as an issue as she does not have any business with her son and his girlfriend.

Femi’s first record was released in 1995 by Tabu/Motown, followed by the release of Shoki Shoki under MCA four years later which went on to garner the sicon of Fela Anikulapo Kuti widespread critical acclaim.

In 2001, Femi collaborated with American artists, Common and Mos Def in a project titled Fight to Win and soon after went on tour in the United States with Jane’s Addiction.

In 2004, he opened the ‘New Afrika Shrine’ where he recorded the live album, Africa Shrine and returned in 2008 with Day by Day, which he followed up with releasing the critically acclaimed, Africa for Africa in 2010 which earned him two Grammy nominations.

Google's List Of World's Most Corrupt Property Owners

Two Nigerians, former Governor of Delta state, James Ibori and former Managing Director of Oceanic Bank, Cecilia Ibru, have made Google’s list of the world’s most corrupt home owners.

They were listed among the owners of valuable property acquired with stolen funds and corrupt means.

Former Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, former President of Zaire, Mobuto Sese Seko, Imelda Marcos, wife of former President of the Philippines and Teodorin Obiang, the son of President Obiang of Equatorial Guinea also made the list.

The Google release wrote:

"One of the most prolific buyers of property on our tour is Cecilia Ibru, the former managing director of Oceanic Bank. She was sentenced to six months in prison for fraud and ordered to hand over $1.2 billion in cash and assets. Authorities seized an incredible 103 properties in the United States, Nigeria, South Africa, Dubai and London.”
