Former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko retires from boxing three months after losing to Anthony Joshua

Former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has announced his retirement from boxing, three months after losing the WBA and IBO belts to British-Nigerian Anthony Joshua.

The 41 year old Klitschko announced his retirement via a video released on his website this morning, thereby putting an end to the talks of a rematch with Joshua in November.

In his retirement video, Wladimir Klitschko thanks his fans that have supported him since his career took off twenty seven years ago and says the next phase of his life will be away from boxing.
