The 3rd (joint 3rd) richest British, and chairman of Virgin Group, Richard Branson will be in Nigeria soon, but it won’t be a business
trip.
Richard had announced on Twitter that he wants to meet with Nigerian leaders to discuss on the latest law on gay and to encourage compassion.
"I spoke out on Uganda new anti-gay bill as life imprisonment so
appalling. Still hopeful it won’t be
passed into law virg."
"Going to meet leaders from countries including Nigeria to discuss issues such as gay rights & encourage compassion virg.in"
"Agree people should be free to love
whoever they want? Everyone should speak out to challenge injustices virg".
Branson will also be visiting other countries with strong laws against gay people, including Uganda.
He wrote;
Last month I spoke out on the dreadful situation in Uganda, where MPs have passed a bill making homosexuality punishable by life imprisonment and not reporting gay people punishable by extremely strong jail sentences.
