Charles Novia comments on the M.I Abaga – Etcetera saga

Nollywood actor cum social commentator, Charles Novia has weighed in on the recent brouhaha between Chocolate City rapper, M.I Abaga and musician cum writer Etcetera.

On Saturday, Etcetera’s article which referred to some of Nigeria’s showbiz stars as ‘ Political prostitutes’ surfaced. M.I Abaga didn’t take being labelled a political prostitute lightly and went hard on Etcetera in a series of tweets,
calling Etcetera a failed artiste disgruntled musician.

Trying to make peace between both parties, Charles Novia, who is known for his own controversial views on issues, also took to Twitter not long ago to address the issue in a
series of tweets.

According to him, Etcetera went a bit overboard with his write up and it is not so wrong for entertainers to align with politicians during such
periods.

In an interview with Complex, Kanye spoke on his integration into the fashion world and the pressure he felt before debuting his "Yeezy: Season 1" show with adidas last Thursday.

The interview solely focuses on Yeezy's fashion ventures, though Kanye says "Yeezy: Season 1" was created with the same "mentality and passion that brought College Dropout into existence."

Throughout the interview, there are

On his enlightened perspective toward women: "Because when I was a single bachelor rapper, and with the access that I had, I realized that I wasn’t respecting women the way I needed to. He said, "Now my Candilicious Afrolistic baybay, these are a few names of the latest political prostitutes in the country: Olamide, Banky W, Don Jazzy, Flavour, Duncan Mighty, D banj, Mercy
Johnson, Ibinabo, Ini Edo, Mama Gee, Naeto C, Joseph Yobo, Daddy Showkey, Kanu Nwankwo, and Sammie Okposo."

"The politicians using celebs for their campaigns should ask themselves what on earth the average person has got in common with Dbanj. He has millions and he may never have to lift a finger
again in his life if he so desires.

"And you think the boys in Okokomaiko who are not smiling will listen to his unrealistic rants on TV and radio? Using a celeb for election campaigns is as stupid as the political aspirants themselves dancing in their campaign musical videos."

Giving the artistes to explain their decision to themselves, Etcetera said, "Those entertainers who see nothing wrong in frolicking with politicians will say I am speaking from a misguided perspective. Go ahead, defend your support for that politician. Tell me you are campaigning for change. You can’t fool anyone but yourselves."

You would recall that Etecetera wrote about the no good that the coming elections will have on the masses.

Meanwhile, MI has slammed Etcetera for tagging some entertainers 'Political prostitutes'. Though M.I was not mentioned,he said Etcetera is bitter and isn't in the same league with them..

Yemi Alade cries out over hacking of her Instagram account

Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade might lose her official Instagram account (@yemialade) very soon.

According to the ‘Johnny’ singer, the account has been hacked and foul pictures are being uploaded with her account which has over 87,000 followers.

The last picture posted on the page by the hackers at the time of filing this report is a picture of American rapper, Snoop Dogg holding a bag of what looks like weed with the caption: ‘Who want to smoke weed with me?’.

To warn her followers and also sound out the general public, Yemi Alade immediately took to Twitter to announce that her Instagram account has been hacked and the hacker wants to make sure she loses the account.

After Beck won album of the year at the awards ceremony on Sunday, Kanye West claimed that he should have given his gong to Beyoncé and that doesn’t sit well with rapper, 50 Cent.

Grammy weekend is synonymous with an award ceremony, brunches, musicians across many genres mingling and parties, parties, parties. It seems like everyone hosts either a pre-Grammy bash or a post-Grammy shindig.This year Meek Mill joined in on the festivities and threw an event the night of Grammy Awards.
