INEC Shifts The General Elections Date From February To March And April {Full Detail}

According to Punch, the Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the rescheduling of the general elections from February 14 and 28 to March 28 and April 11.

The Chairman of the commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, stated this at a press briefing in Abuja Saturday night. He said the decision was taken after several consultations with political parties, civil society organisations, members of the Council of State, INEC national commissioners and resident electoral commissioners.

With the shift, the Presidential and National Assembly elections originally scheduled for February 14 will now hold on March 28 while the governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections earlier fixed for 28 February will take place on April 11.

Jega said the decision to shift the elections was a difficult one, but added that it had to be taken because of the security implications of holding the election without the support of security agencies.

I pity myself for acting foolish roles –Actor Charles Inojie

Actor Charles Inojie tells Nonye Ben-Nwankwo how he got into Nollywood and the challenges that come with being a comedy actor.

You act some roles in movies that may make onen wonder if you are really okay, are you comfortable with such roles?

Even me, I ask myself if I am okay. That is the reason I don’t watch my movies. I am a very shy person by nature. The only time you can see me in that mood is when there are cameras around and somebody has paid some money and it is confirmed that the money has been credited to my account. That is when I can play such roles, otherwise I can’t see myself doing such, am I mad? At times, I may barge into a place where my movie is showing; I would just look at myself and I would say, ‘Charles Inojie, you are just a fool.’ At times, I think I am not just okay. But then, what can a man do? We have to pay school fees and run other expenses at home. Since it is a legitimate business, we are doing it no matter how it is.

But why did you choose comedy in the first place?

I have a very sound training. It wasn’t mandatory that it must be comedy that I do. You don’t wake up one morning and just go and train to be a comedian but you can train as an actor. That was what I did. I am a trained actor. Being able to efficiently deploy the comic role is a function of an innate natural talent that a particular actor possesses; definitely not what he learnt.

Are you saying it wasn’t by choice that you are a comic actor?

No. By the way, I started from behind the camera. I didn’t start my career as an actor. I was a script writer and an assistant director and later, a director.

And how did you end up an actor?

It happened that an actor who may have been given a minor role such as a gateman or houseboy would for some reasons not show up and the director of the movie would just suggest that I, the assistant director, should just pick up the costume and play the role in order to avoid the actor delaying production. I would just play the role and I would do it well. The next time, I would be called again and I would do it. From there, one scene today, two scenes the next day, it began to add up. I think producers started noticing me and that was how it blossomed.

But did you know that you could act?

I knew I could act. I had been acting when I was in school. If there were five prominent actors in my school then, I was likely to be in that list. Whether I could act was not the question but the issue was if I would have the opportunity to act. I was already doing well behind the camera and I felt there was no point asking for too much by going to beg for roles in order to be in front of the camera. I was comfortable the way I was but then, producers noticed me and that was how it happened. I was given sub lead roles and it got to a point that they felt I was good enough to be the anchor person for movies and that wasbhow the lead roles started pouring in.

You have even won some awards since you came on board…
Oh yes, for me, that’s been the highest point of my career. Financially, the take home pay has been more than what I was getting when I was behind the camera but the greatest surprise are
the awards. I didn’t know what I was doing could expose me to am extent that I could stand almost shoulder to shoulder with some of the biggest names in the industry when it comes to
comedy. The first time, I was nominated
alongside two of my big bosses, Nkem Owoh and Mr. Ibu. I didn’t even wait for the award proper to celebrate; I called everybody I knew that the unimaginable had happened. I told everybody who cared to listen that I got a letter from Nigeria Movie Awards that I had been nominated in the Best Comedy Actor category alongside these two big people. They reminded me that it was just nomination and there was no need for me to jubilate yet. I told them I didn’t need to wait to win. Haba! I asked them if they knew what it meant? So that day, they would just mention these two people and mention my name as well? Ha! It was a big deal! Not many people understood what I was talking about.

Did you win the award?

I didn’t win but then, I was so happy that my work was considered good enough to be nominated alongside the works of my first grade senior colleagues. It was a huge achievement. And I also thank God that things changed after that. I had the opportunity of being nominated alongside same persons and other colleagues and I won the awards to the glory of God. It was really a pleasant surprise for me back then. In fact, I am yet to recover from the shock. I never
knew it would get to this point.

Granted you don’t watch your movies but people may have told you that you act foolishly…

It is really that foolish part that I wouldn’t want to watch. I see such roles and I would just be sorry for myself. It can really be very embarrassing.

Do you agree that people may also look at you and think you are really foolish in reality, doesn’t it bother you?

It was something I battled with when I initially started. It was actually Mr. Ibu that came to me one day and said, ‘Guy, as you see me so, I be idiot! I am a foolish person.’ Victor Osuagwu calls himself ‘ mumu.’ So I had to psyche myself. If these people have already accepted what they are, na me go come dey form ‘the boy is good’? I had to accept it.

But was it easy?

It was not. Initially, it was very difficult. You would go to church on a Sunday and you would dress well like every other person would and you try to present yourself as pious as you could in the presence of God. But from nowhere, a woman would just see you and shout, ‘Chie! Junior come and see this foolish man!’ This is inside the church o. In this case, I would just wonder aloud what I actually did to the woman to warrant such embarrassment. But it got to a point I realised there was nothing I could do about it. I realised that it wasn’t intended. I have arrived at that point where I can no longer complain. Just as you are trying to settle from one quarrel arising from someone calling you an idiot, before you take two steps, you meet another person calling you foolish man. So I have accepted it, I am a fool. It is a huge cross that people who do the kind of work I do must carry. Just look at Ramsey Nouah, people see him and they hail him and call him fine boy, handsome actor. They tell him they love him and love his movies. But when they see us, they would just shout, ‘look at this idiot! You dey crase! You no well.’ It is only abuse that people use to celebrate us. You attend an event and dress well and somebody would just come beside you and ask you, ‘why you dey pose? Abeg be yourself joo.’ One woman actually asked me, ‘so you have such fine
clothes and you don’t wear them in the movies?’ What haven’t they told me?

But how were you able to convince your wife to marry you, didn’t she think you were joking?

It is only a comedian that carries the burden of seeing a beautiful lady that he likes, walks up to her to ‘toast’ her and the girl would just say, ‘get out there, you have come with your joke again.’ How do serious people propose to their girlfriends? But the luck I had in my own case was I wasn’t this ‘foolish’ when I proposed to her. If it were to be today, I am sure she would have called the police to arrest me for harassment.

Do we see you going behind the camera again?

I have established myself as an actor. But even before then, I didn’t jettison my roles behind the camera. I have had to act as a director for movies. Some producers would want me to direct as well as play a role in their movies. A
film maker is a film maker. Where I come from, we have virgin stories and I would want to tell them the way I feel they should be told. I am discussing with some people in the government
to see the need to collaborate and see how we can use movie making as a veritable tool to get so many people off the streets.

In order to set the records straight, Nollywood actress, Bimbo Thomas, has expressed her mind to those that care to listen that she is not in any relationship with popular socialite, MC Oluomo, as widely speculated.

The actress explained that Oluomo has been of help to her and many other actresses and sees no reason why people have to point at her of dating the him.

She revealed that though they are both close but there was nothing attached to it as Oluomo happens to be her brother and a friend who has been supportive.

According to her, “MC Oluomo is a friend and a brother to me, we are not lovers and we are not dating. I have been on this case for about six
years and the truth is that Oluomo is my brother and a friend. I would not stop talking to him because he has been so helpful to me, so whatever anybody likes, let them say.”

Bimbo debunked further rumours that the socialite got her a car and financed her movie production.

“He did not buy me a car and he never financed any movie production for me because I am yet to produce my own movie. I don’t have a film in the market and I do not have any film to my credit. Cash Money Founders Birdman& Slim Make Billboard’s 2015 Power 100 List

Cash Money Records may be
facing two separate lawsuits from Hot Boys members Lil Wayne and Turk at the moment, but the heads of the label are still being honored by Billboard magazine for being among the most powerful people in the music business.

The publication ranked Cash Money founders Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams at number at 90 on its 2015 Power 100 list. The two brothers fell 40 spots from last year. However, Birdman was the only rap mogul/performer to be included on the 2015 list.

Other industry insiders connected to Hip Hop to make Billboard’s Power 100 include Apple executive Jimmy Iovine (5), Roc Nation CEO Jay Brown (30), Warner/ Chappell Music North American President Jon Platt (46), Epic Records executives L.A. Reid & Sylvia Rhone (61), and BET executives Stephen Hill & Debra Lee (84).

BANKULI TERMINATES WANDE COAL’SCONTRACT OVER ARTISTE’S LOSS OF FOCUS

Wave making singer, Wande Coal and his manager, Bankuli, have gone their separate ways after being together for some time.

Bankuli Entertainment was before now in charge of the artiste’s management, but information confirmed by the outfit stressed that they (Bankuli Entertainment) terminated their contract with Wande Coal.

According to the entertainment outfit, it had to terminate the working relationship with Wande Coal over issues of change of focus and direction of career from the artiste’s end.

Bankulli Entertainment, in a statement, revealed that the initial plan and strategy when the singer was brought on board from ground zero three years ago was to attain the highest level of career change and to be a force to reckon with, but all these were scuttled at every point in time due to the mind focus of the artiste and other human vices which to them, tends to put a wrong impression about the company.

The management which is led by Oluwaseun Abisagboola, used the opportunity to wish the singer best of luck and success in all his future
endeavours.

Actor Prince Eke's Open Letter to Buhari

My letter to BUHARI,

Sir ,let us examine your service records. I consider your generation a very privileged one, indeed. In 1975 at d age of 33, you were appointed d Military Governor of d North-Eastern State, present day Borno & Yobe states.

In 1976 at d age of 34 you became d Minister 4 Petroleum and Natural Resources. In 1978 at d age of 36 you became d Chairman of d Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Today d reverse is d case. Most
Nigerians at age of 35 are still
unemployed and still living with
parents.  Many are still not married. During your time you were already Governor at this age.One major reason for this unfortunate turn of events is that many elders like you have refused 2 voluntarily handover d baton 2 d next generation. Life should be a relay race where one runs his race and hands over
2 d next. In Nigeria many elders like
you have run their races and are still
holding on tenaciously 2 d baton.

But Sir, I have an important question here 4 you. The question is simple, MUST YOU SERVE NIGERIA AS A PRESIDENT ONLY? IS THERE NO OTHER CAPACITY YOU CAN SERVE US EXCEPT D PRESIDENCY? It is very erroneous 2 imagine that you can only serve Nigeria only in one capacity. During d regime of late General Sani Abacha, you accepted d appointment 2 serve as d Chairman of d then Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF). D general opinion was that you served faithfully in this capacity. Well done Sir! But you never asked Abacha 2 vacate office 4 you as your former subordinate in d army. Never! In fact that would have been a dangerous move, if not suicidal. Rather you served faithfully under your former junior in d army. Sir, imagine if you take on another job like d Chairman of EFCC or ICPC or NDLEA.

Nigerians actually need you 2 serve in one of these capacities much more than they need you in d Presidency. Mere mentioning your name as Chairman of EFCC would drive many corrupt men underground. But you wouldn’t . Either d Presidency or nothing. When are you going 2 handover 2 d next person? It is either you do it voluntarily or risk disgrace at d polls. God bless you sir.."

Jay Z And Beyonce Are Moving To Los Angeles

The Carters are moving out West, and relocating their family to the sunny skies of Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, Hov and Bey are currently living in a hotel in Beverly Hills and actively looking for a house to buy on the westside of L.A., which includes Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills, and Bel-Air. While they continue their search, it’s being reported that their daughter, Blue Ivey, has already been enrolled in a toddler program at an elite private school where the tuition costs
$15,080 a year.

As for the reason behind this move, a source tells TMZ that they wanted “a change in lifestyle.” Its unknown what they’re going to do with their current New York pad, but I think its safe to say they’ll be keeping it. Two is always better than one right?

We’ll keep you posted if pictures of their future home ever become available if and when they find one.

That’s the day she was actually born and she’s always giving birth to new things, new projects that day. When the kitchen opened, when the foundation opened, when an album drops- all happened on this day, her birthday so we just decided to continue the theme, we should continue that tradition in her name"

He further announced that a new album and DVDs of her recent works will be launched at the event
as well.

"Apart from honouring her with our presence, we will be having albums launched. Albums in terms of the DVD collection of her video as well as the other half of the double album she actually wanted to release. Earlier on, she had planned to release two albums, the Beautiful and Chorus Leader. She was able to release the Chorus Leader but the Beautiful album would be dropping by the grace of God on the 5th.

“We would also have "the Best of Both Worlds". The Best of Both Worlds is a combination of the Chorus Leader and the Beautiful, but this time, on DVD’’ he said.
