Open Heavens 21st Monday, August 2017 Message:
The response of the Lord Jesus Christ to the question of a Samaritan woman on God’s approved location of acceptable worship, in John 4:20, put an end to the era where God could only be worshipped in specific places. John 4:21& 23 says,
“22 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”
Jesus taught her that the time has come when true worshippers of God are not required to visit any physical temple or be present in any particular location in order to worship God acceptably. True worshipper can now worship the Father in spirit and in truth.
Building on this teaching, Apostle Paul expounded that the dwelling of God is no longer in temples made by human hands (Acts 17:24). He further revealed that God, in the person of the Holy Spirit, now dwells in the body of those who have yielded to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. In 1 Corinthians 6:19 He wrote this:
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”
If you are indeed a Christian, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Out of love for you, God gave you a unique body; and He wants you to reciprocate His love by making good use of it. The question is, are you conscious of the fact that God’s Holy Spirit dwells in you? Are you aware that you are not your own, and that you are bought with a price? Are you aware that you are to glorify God in your body (1 Corinthians 6:20)? As a child of God, God has taken ownership of your body. You therefore have no preferences in matters concerning your body. A Christian cannot therefore make choices about sexual orientation or engage in behaviours on the basis of personal preference. Without any ambiguity, God has made clear the purpose of our body; therefore, any notion about freedom of choice regarding sexuality and sexual acts is essentially incompatible with God’s word. God also warns that He will destroy those who defile His temple, which is our body. Take note of this and be wise!
Prayer Point: Father, please abide in me; make my body Your dwelling place, and give me the grace to resist any temptation to misuse my body, in Jesus’ Name.

Born Oyenkepreye Odede as the third child of his parents, Preye grew up in Port Harcourt Township Area of Rivers State.As a young lad, he was part of an All-Male acappela singing group “Born to Praise”. He was also a member of the Universal Love Choir of the Assemblies of GOD Church Woji. A graduate of Microbiology Preye would also distinguish himself as a soloist with the Casor Reconciliation Choir (CRC) in Abia State University.
Preye was inspired to write the song Ebezina as a result of turbulent times his family faced with accommodation challenges for 9 years leading to their eventual ejection from a make-shift “batcher” home. But even when it seemed all was lost Preye didn’t loose his Praise and a song borne out of a grieving situation would go on to become the catalyst for a life transforming testimony!!!
He has also dropped several singles after the release of his debut Album “My Script” such as Bulie, Hosanna and recently “No Other God”
Most recently, whilst his elder sister went through a surgical operation in which complications almost took her life, confused and distraught, Preye sought help from friends and colleagues at large relying mainly on external prayer support but once again GOD laid in his heart a New Song “I Am Real” don’t take your eyes off me and while he worshiped GOD proved himself Real and today his sister is hale and hearty!!!

Nigerian Designer, Mai Atafo Snags African Designer Of The Year At Glitz Style Awards
The designer, best known for his tuxedos – a favourite among Nigeria’s top celebrities, and for designing Adesua Etomi‘s stunning wedding dress in the blockbuster, The Wedding Party, was one of the few Nigerians including Toke Makinwa who walked home from the event with a plaque.

Dangote driver arraigned for stealing N25m truck
According to PUNCH Metro, the suspect was driving the truck to Cotonou, Benin Republic, when he was arrested by customs officers in Badagry.
He was arraigned on two counts of stealing.
The charges read in part, “That you, Haruna Bello, and others now at large, on May 18, 2017 at about 1.45pm at Apapa, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did steal a truck with number plate, XC 449 GML, valued at N25m, property of Dangote Group Plc, thereby committing an offence.”
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Donjor Perezi, said the offence was punishable under Section 287(7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Olayinka, granted him bail in the sum of N1.5m, with two sureties each in like sum.
The case was adjourned till September 25, 2017.

Nigerian Lady Arrested In India For Stabbing Her Boyfriend To Death
The lady identified as Evelyn Uzodinma was arrested for killing her boyfriend, a Nigerian named Godfrey Izzu Chibueze.
Evelyn is alleged to have stabbed Godfrey, 30, during a quarrel outside their house in west Delhi on Saturday afternoon (read here).

Investigation revealed that the couple had a fight around 2 p.m. on Saturday before Godfrey’s death. Neighbours also told police they saw the couple fighting and punching each other. According to a police officer, during the fight, the woman picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Chibueze on his left hand, causing him to bleed excessively.
Police are awaiting postmortem report for further clarity on Chibueze’s death. Police have registered a case of murder registered against Evelyn.

In Oregon, locals ran out of their homes, with eclipse glasses or homemade contraptions in hand, to watch the moon fully cover the sun, blotting out all but the halo-like solar corona.

Following an altercation that had taken place in a backstage bar, the superstars were rushed to safety and taken to a nearby helicopter to 'avoid' finding themselves caught up in the rowdy situation.
Acording to The Sun, a 'serious' situation broke out in Tape nightclub's backstage area, where up to 20 'emergency support officers' had descended onto the scene, following a group of men forcing their way in.
Security acted quickly to clear the area, with a source telling the paper:
'It was terrifying. One man smacked a steward in the mouth twice.... no one knew what to do and security completely lost control.'They had attempted to tackle the men who had forced their way into the backstage area, swiftly removing them. However, festival-goers were left 'scared' as a result of the chaos that had ensued - including tables being thrown - after Jay-Z's performance
Mother told her son ‘I love you’ as he repeatedly stabbed her
Melvin James, 36, launched the assault on Lynette James after fatally wounding his sister, Anne-Marie, at their flat in Wolverhampton.
Police were called and officers initally attempted to Taser the attacker before fleeing the high-rise, 'terrified' for their lives.
James, who had stabbed himself, was eventually subdued after an armed response unit stormed the flat with flash-bang grenades.
According to the UK SUN, he was given medical treatment but died at the scene. His mother survived after being taken to hospital.
Giving a harrowing account, Mrs James said she was about to have a shower when she heard Anne-Marie call out to her.
Her evidence, read by Black Country senior coroner Zafar Siddique, said
: 'I sensed and felt something was seriously wrong.
'I decided to run into the lounge and call the concierge from the phone. I saw Melvin by the kitchen and he ripped the phone off the wall.'
She added: 'His eyes were red, fixed and he was staring at me. He plunged the knife into me, again and again.
'I said, "I love you, son".'
She fled to the bathroom, locking the door and ringing 999 to tell police she had been stabbed and feared she was 'slipping away'.
The mother-of-four added: 'I said "I'm going to die, my son has stabbed me and my daughter is on the floor".
Libya stops Migrants crossing to Europe
According to Reuters, an armed Libyan group has been stopping migrant boats from setting off across the Mediterranean from a city west of Tripoli that has been a springboard for people smugglers.
The policing of the route by the group has made arrivals in Italy drop by more than 50 percent in July from a year earlier, and August arrivals so far are down even further. July and August are peak months for migrant boats because of favourable sea conditions.
Sources in Sabratha, 70 km (45 miles) west of the capital, said the sudden drop had been caused by a new force in the seaside city, which is preventing migrants from leaving, often by locking them up.
The group in Sabratha “works on the ground, the beach, to prevent the migrants leaving on boats towards Italy,” said a civil society organizer from the city, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The group is made up of several hundred “civilians, policemen, army figures,” he said. It is conducting a “very strong campaign” that was launched by a “former mafia boss”, said a second Sabratha source who follows smuggling activity closely.
A third source with contacts in Libya, who also asked not to be named, said the Sabratha group was making “a significant effort to police the area”

The call was made as the party and the coalition of civil society groups, on Monday trooped to the streets of Ado Ekiti, the state capital to celebrate return of President Muhammadu Buhari to Nigeria after 104 days in London for medical vacation.
While addressing the rally, the APC Acting Chairman in the State, Mrs Kemi Olaleye, said God has shamed those wishing the President death.Olaleye appealed to Fayose to make good his threat that he would commit suicide if President Buhari returns to Nigeria hale and hearty.She said
“Mr Fayose has turned himself to propaganda-in-chief , but we are happy that God has shamed those who thought President Buhari won’t return alive. With this rally, the end has come to Governor Fayose’s reign in Ekiti.
“The good people of this state are not in support of Fayose’s action , because we are cultured and compassionate people.
“ Look at the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike, he went to Abuja to welcome the president back to Nigeria. That was a show of maturity, why was our governor not learning from this?
“We are solidly behind President Buhari even beyond 2019. And we are pleading with Nigerians to discountenance whatever Fayose has been saying against the president. He was not speaking for us, he only spoke for himself”, she said.

He said this while admitting to the allegation of praying for the women in the church naked.
A 32-year-old woman, Omotola Akerele had accused the pastor while featuring in a programme on Adaba FM Akure, the Ondo State, of sleeping with her and getting her pregnant during a spiritual cleansing.
She said it was her mother, a member of the church, that introduced her to the pastor when she was battling with a severe cough.
Omotola, who hails from the town narrated that as a result of the sex she had with the pastor, she got pregnant and later aborted the pregnancy without the consent of her husband.
She told the radio station,
“I had a severe cough and my mother took me to Pastor Olakunle Mathew for prayer in Iju. After praying for me he said I needed a shaving stick and a handkerchief to perform the spiritual exercise which I took to him.
“The pastor told me that if he wanted to use my hair to perform some spiritual work that would solve my spiritual problem. On the night of that first day we got there, he asked me to put off my clothes in the presence of my mother to pray for me in the mission house.
“Since that day, he has been asking me to come for deliverance and when I got there he would ask me to remove my clothes and lie on the bed. He would lie on me naked and be praying for me.
“On the seventh day, he shaved the hair of my private part and my armpit hair and put the hair in the white handkerchief. After that, we had sexual intercourse and after the intercourse, he asked me to go and bury the hair in the handkerchief.”
Omotola added that she aborted the pregnancy but her husband later got to know about it and sent her out of the house.
However, the pastor explained that Omotola’s case was a spiritual attack and she agreed to undergo the spiritual exercise performed on her in the church.
Olakunle, who said he had been transferred by the C.A.C to another church in Ilorin, Kwara State, however, denied having sexual intercourse with Omotola.
He also denied impregnating her but he confessed to having had sexual relationship with Omotola’s younger sister twice and had prayed for their mother too while being naked.
He said, “On the third day of the spiritual programme, I shaved the hair on her private part and I touched it (her private part) with my penis and I told her to be using my penis to rob the entrance of her private part so that she would discharge.
“After that, I wiped the discharge of her private part with the white handkerchief and I prayed for her using psalm 24.
“After the exercise, I asked her to go and bury the handkerchief in the bush. I asked her to call her husband to do it for her but she refused, that was why I did it for her but I didn’t have sex with her.”

Police nab suspected yahoo boy for allegedly defrauding American of $80,000
Speaking to journalists in Oshogbo, the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye,said
“The suspect, who is an internet fraudster defrauded an American of the sum of $80,000. He presented himself as a woman on the Internet and he succeeded in seeking the friendship of his victim who thereafter paid the money into his account.
“Although he has denied collecting $80,000 but $43,000. Our concern is the terrible damage this fellow must have done to the image of Nigeria and Nigerians living abroad. His action has gone to further show that many youths are not interested in hard work again.”
On his part, the suspect said
“I always disguise in a feminine form via profile photo, asking for serious relationship with my clients, in which I do solicit for financial assistance thereafter under false pretence,” Agboola disclosed.The CP said an investigation was still ongoing into the case adding that suspect would be charged to court very soon.
