My Husband Sold Our Child - Wife Reveals

A 24-year old has revealed how the police caught her husband after he sold their child in Akwa- Ibom state.

In an exclusive interview, she revealed how the father of her kids sold their 2-year old for N150,000.

Recently, you alerted the police that your husband sold your two-year-old son, Elisha. How did you get to know?

It all happened on Monday, July 24. I was lying down on the bed in our apartment when the father of my children came into the house and woke me up. He immediately requested that I go to my mother’s place at Eta-Agbor Road in Calabar but I told him that I did not have transport fare and that I was also hungry. He went out and came back with N50 which he probably borrowed from someone. He told me to use it as transport fare to my mother’s place. I preferred to use the money to buy garri because I was very hungry. He said he wanted me go to my mother’s place because he was travelling to Akwa Ibom State. I asked if he was coming back that day and he said yes. At that point, our two-year-old boy, Elisha, was within the compound. I had asked Elisha not to go outside because, just like me, he was hungry. After our discussion, I went to take my bath.

When did you notice that your son was no longer in the compound?

I initially did not know his father had taken the boy outside the compound. It was another little child in the compound that told me that Elijah’s father asked him to go outside the compound to play. The boy said that Elisha ran outside and had not returned. Then, I became curious and started shouting Elisha’s name around and outside the compound. My husband’s brother, living in the compound, asked what the problem was and I said I had not seen Elisha. Other tenants too asked the same question and I responded the same way.

Did you ask him before he left the house where he was going to in Akwa Ibom State?

He did not tell me exactly where he was going to in Akwa Ibom State. He only told me he was going to look for work there. But when I searched around and could not find Elisha, I immediately called him, asking if Elisha was with him. He said no. In fact, he said Elisha was playing outside the compound when he left the house. I told him that his brother had been outside and that we didn’t see Elisha. We immediately began the search for Elisha in neighbouring streets but we didn’t see him. The brother and I went as far as St. Bernard’s School in Calabar-South where he (husband) always sat with friends to drink, but the people around said they did not see him. I screamed on the phone while talking with Elijah’s father about the boy’s whereabouts. For the second time, he denied. Even his brother also called him. The brother’s wife called him but he continued denying. I shouted, cried and ran all the way to my mother’s place to report the matter to her. My mother pleaded with me not to cry. She said that maybe he didn’t want me to bring the child to her place. My mother assured me that he would bring the child back, although I did not believe.

Why didn’t you believe her?

My inner mind kept revealing to me that the man went to sell the child. My mother warned me not to say that again. That Monday night, at about 7pm, I called him again after borrowing N100 from somebody to recharge my phone. I told him I still had not seen my child. He shouted on me on the phone, saying I was speaking nonsense. He kept denying my accusation.

Did he return from Akwa Ibom State that day?

No, he did not. On Tuesday, around 6am, I woke up, took my bath and called him again. He said he was on his way back to Calabar. I called him again and he told me that he was on his way and that he didn’t understand what I was talking about. I kept crying until one of our neighbours, Ekaete, advised that I get something like an empty container that I could hit with stick to announce that my child was missing. She said I should announce that if anybody saw the child, he or she should take him to the police station. But I told her that I don’t have any money to give to the police. However, after she persisted, I took my second son, who is two months old, with me and strapped him on my back. I went to Uwanse Police Station to report that my child was missing. At the end of the day, I exchanged numbers with the policewoman who asked me to go but advised that I alert them when I see him. They assured me that if I didn’t have money to come; they would come and arrest the father of my children. That Tuesday, I called him. I lied to him that my small child and I (the younger one who is less than two months), were hungry and there was nothing for us to eat. He told me he was coming and switched off his phone. Later that Tuesday at about 5pm, he switched on the phone again. I asked why he switched off his phone. I asked why he didn’t want to tell me the whereabouts of my child and he said I was talking nonsense that he didn’t carry my child. I ended the call and started crying. People came around and asked me to keep quiet. I told them that the small child could not have crossed the gutter close to the house to go anywhere to play.

How did you eventually know that he took the child away?

It was when he came back from Akwa Ibom that the police trailed and arrested him. I was devastated when I got to know that he sold Elisha. I still hope to see my son.

What was he doing before the incident?

He was a mason. I was working with somebody as a house help and making pop corn for another person.

What can you say about his character?

He drank a lot and when he returned home, he quarrelled with me. Sometimes, he beat me up. He once beat me with a machete. Sometime last year, when my mother visited us, he pursued her with machete and my mother ran away. She left the house and since that time, she never came back to visit us again.

How did you meet him?

I met him at Akpabuyo LGA of Cross River State in 2014 but I cannot remember the month now. I went to Akpabuyo to see my aunty and on my way back, we met inside the taxi that I boarded. He said he wanted to marry me. After a week, he called my number and said I should come and visit him where he stayed.

When I got there, he took me to his former compound where he was living before he packed to No. 8, Amika Utuk Lane in Calabar-South. It was there that I became pregnant for him. I stayed with him until I was delivered of the boy (Elisha) on July 4, 2015.

Are you legally married to him?

He never paid my bride price and my mother had always quarrelled with me on that. She asked me to leave the man’s house because she doesn’t like him. But I told my mother that I loved him.

Was he married before you moved in with him?

I did not know that he was married. It was after I delivered Elisha that his wife came to the house because she was staying in Uyo. When she came, she started quarrelling with him and asked if he was not ashamed of getting married to a small girl (me) who could be his child. She asked him who would take care of her four children that he left for her. The woman threatened that there would be trouble if he did not send money to her to take care of the children in Akwa Ibom State. Since that time, the man has been sending money to her. The second child from the woman later came to live with us. But after this incident, the mother came and took the child away, obviously out of fear that her child could be sold like mine.

My Husband Is A Saint - Mercy Johnson-Okojie Gushes About Her Husband

Popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie in a new interview with Nigerian Tribune, revealed why she is extremely in love with her husband.

In her words: "My husband is a saint. Everything. .

My husband is not someone you interact with, with your body. He is someone you commune with, with your soul. You just love his soul. He is everything bottled in one person. I don’t know how to explain him. .
.
My husband is the closest thing after God’s existence. I am not saying he is perfect, but l love that man too much [Sings]. Sometimes I can’t explain him. I am crazy about my husband. I do anything that makes him happy."

I See Nothing Wrong With Acting Nude - Ebube Nwagbo

Beautiful Nollywood actress, Ebube Nwagbo in a recent interview opened up on her career, life and more interesting issues.

Read excerpts from her interview below:

How did you become an actress?

I went for an audition like every other person and luckily. I was picked and got the lead role.

What are you currently working on?

I have just released my second movie entitled, Not Enough. It is my second movie as a producer.

What inspired you to go into movie production?

It was the passion I have for what I do. I also thought it was time for me to spread my tentacles, try out other things and develop myself. Also, I wanted to give back to an industry that has given so much to me and made me who I am today.

What are the basic challenges you face as a producer?

There are lots of challenges one faces as a producer and they range from creativity to originality. There is also the challenge of trying to come up with something different from the norm because most people are into producing now. Besides that, funding a production is not easy because you invest a lot into the project. With the economic situation of the country now, making sales is not guaranteed. And being accepted as a producer is not that easy because it entails a lot to be a good one, it is not a joke.

What message are you trying to pass through the movie?

The movie is centered on the youths of today looking for short cuts. They want to have the shortest cut to success and accomplishments in life. We need to set our priorities right at an early stage in order to secure our future. The decisions you make today, the life you live today determines your future. The movie also sheds light on the young girls of today that get pregnant without prior planning or knowing what they really want in life, thinking that getting pregnant for a man will make him marry or love them. Love can’t be forced. The movie, Not Enough also sheds light on weak parental guidance and peer pressure. It is a family story that has a lot of messages and lessons in it.

Has it been easy to combine acting and movie production?

It has not been easy combining acting and producing but it is what I love to do. It keeps me on my feet. I try to tell stories that are not only entertaining but also educating, stories with morals to learn from and messages to pass across.

Tell us about your most challenging movie role?

Every movie comes with its own challenges because you are being someone else at every point in time. But one of the most challenging movies ever was my first film as an actress. The movie was entitled, Arrested By Love. It was my first time facing the camera and I was playing lead. I didn’t have an idea of what I was going into or what I was doing. But big thanks to the cast and crew of that amazing job. They believed in me more than I believed in myself.

What did you like about the character you played in that movie?

I loved the character I played in the movie because I was a born-again Christian who changed a bad boy to a good boy by simply being herself.

Can you go nude for a movie?

I don’t think I can do that. However, I don’t have anything against whoever can go all the way. It is you doing your job so it shouldn’t be a problem, but personally I can’t.

What part of your body do you treasure most?

I love every part of my body exactly the way God made it. I don’t treasure any more than the other.

If you were to change anything in Nollywood, what could that be?

Stereotyping. One thing I would love to change in Nollywood is stereotyping. We should learn to have diverse characterisation. We all have been guilty of being stereotyped or stereotyping.

Yes I Collapsed But The Protest Will Continue Until Buhari Returns Home - Charly Boy

Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy, made news again when he set out on a protest in Abuja but ended up collapsing following tear gas released into the air.

Speaking without Sunday Scoop about the protest, he said:
“It is true that I collapsed. The tear gas made me dizzy and I fell. I also stand by my words that a police officer hit me with his gun. The government is a lie and so is the police force. Everybody is lying and in deceit mode. If Nigerian people believe their government and police, then so be it. I have told you what happened. It is not my job to be trading words about whether or not it happened. My focus is on what we’re doing. The mistake the police made was to face the protesters as if they (police) had come for war. Meanwhile, they cannot face Boko Haram and armed robbers. They prefer to bully ordinary citizens.”
Speaking further on what actually transpired on the fateful day, he said, “They didn’t want us to continue the protest regardless of the fact that we had written to them that it would last for two weeks. They reluctantly agreed because we spoke with all the security agencies. I guess they were overwhelmed with the attention we were getting and they came out in full force to make sure we did not gather. On that particular day, it wasn’t even a rally; it was just the normal sit-out where we would gather and sit down in public for some hours. On that day, we were only seven that were there. The security operatives were on edge and they didn’t want us to start attracting other people. So they turned their tear gas, water cannon and attack dogs on us. Later on, they said it wasn’t us they were targeting, that they were aiming for the miscreants around. Meanwhile, they fired the tear gas and water cannon straight at us. Ironically, they got more bad publicity for their action. Anyway, we continued the protest after that day and we would still go on. We plan to continue the protest till the president returns to the country. If the president was my father, I would carry him out of that office and get him proper treatment and rest. But we know that his hands are tied personally. He is not really the one running Nigeria; it is a cabal.” he said.

Sunday Sermon: Open Heavens – Captives Of The Mighty By Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Topic: Captives Of The Mighty [Sunday 13, August 2017]

Memorise: If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. – John 8:36

Read: John 5:1-9 (KJV)
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

Open Heavens 13th Sunday, August 2017 Message:

The reason why many people are so helpless in life today is because they are in captivity. Many are in the bondage of sin, sickness, poverty, addition, demonic possession and other evil conditions. The resultant effects of captivity include loss of freedom, psychological imbalance, and emotional trauma, loss of contact with loved ones, hopelessness and dejection. A captive is a person with a lost identity. Such a person may have been royalty before being captured by the enemy, but he or she has become a slave and must now live at the mercy of his or her new owner. A captive loses dignity and suffers from low self-esteem and emotional trauma from thinking about the situation that led to his or her captivity. A captive is in a worse situation than an ordinary prisoner because a prisoner’s jail term is fixed, but a captive has no hope of being set free. Above all, the situation of a captive is hopelessly filled with regret. The big question is, can a captive find true freedom? The Holy Spirit answers this question in Isaiah 49:24-25

“24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? 25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.”
Hallelujah! A captive can indeed be set free. Jesus in Luke 4:18 declared that He came to set the captive free:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”

I bring you good news today: no matter how difficult your experience in captivity has been, and no matter how heavy the chain of your affliction is, JESUS is here to set you free!  Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah, Redeemer and Deliverer, sent to set everyone who will accept Him as the Lord and Saviour of their lives from the bondage of Satan, the world and the flesh. What is your problem? Are you operating under the powerful grip of a secret sin, sexual immorality, a secret society, a blood covenant or any form of addition? Jesus, in John 8:36, has those words for you:

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
Jesus came to set the captives free; call on His Name for your deliverance now!

Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, Please manifest your power to set me free from every form of captivity I am experiencing today.

Sunday Sermon: Kenneth Copeland – Heart To Heart

Topic: Heart To Heart [Sunday August 13, 2017]

For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. – 1 Corinthians 2:16, The Amplified Bible

Isn’t it exciting to realize that you can hold the thoughts and feelings and purposes of God’s very own heart in your heart? Isn’t it thrilling to know the Creator of heaven and earth wants to be one spirit with you and transmit His thoughts to your mind? First Corinthians 6:17 says that when you were joined to the Lord you became one spirit with Him. He came into union with you so that He can talk to you heart to heart. God wants you in this harmony with Him so that His thoughts can become your actions.

He wants you to walk so closely with Him that you never lack power to overcome the evil of this world. He wants you to be so in tune with His Spirit that you are able to feel His heart of compassion toward those around you who are hurting or bowed down with sickness and pain. He wants to be one with you, so He can reach out through your hands and fulfill His purposes in the earth.

Make a fresh commitment today to walk in union with your God. Give your attention to His Spirit in your inner man. Determine to yield to His voice and not to the voices of the world or the flesh!

Allow the mind of Christ to flow through you!

 Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 2

Drake and Future Sued for $25 Million by Woman Raped at their Concert

A woman who was allegedly raped at a Drake and Future concert last year is suing the rappers among others , for $25 million, claiming their negligence led to her attack.

According to a lawsuit filed earlier this week in federal court, the woman (identified only as Jane Doe) claims she attended the Drake/Future concert on August 14, 2016 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The woman claims that during the show, she was approached by “a man associated with Bridgestone Arena” who offered to take her backstage to meet the performers.

As the woman followed the man — later identified as Leavy Johnson — backstage, she claims he “suddenly … pushed Jane Doe to the ground and violently assaulted her, shattering her cell phone and causing severe physical and psychological injury.”

(Johnson has since been arrested and charged with rape, according to The Tennessean. He is currently awaiting trial.)
The woman claims Johnson had outstanding warrants for assault at the time of the alleged rape and claims the arena, the touring companies, the company that provided the security and the rappers all should have known that employing Johnson would “pose an unreasonable risk to others.”
The woman is seeking no less than $25 million in damages, plus court costs

Man cuts off his own penis in Ondo beacuse ''monsters told him to'

'A middle age man Oluwole Aiyeloja Saturday in Akure, the Ondo state capital reportedly cut off manhood with razor blade. Oluwole said he acted on an instruction from a “monster”.

The victim equally was about chopping off his scrotum when good samaritans rushed to free the razor blade from his hands.

The weird decision took place at Obanla junction, Akure, the state capital.

According to Daily Post ng,a witness who sells recharge card seller close to the scene Olaolu Oluyede said that the deadly act caught her and others by surprise
“I was busy attending to a customer when someone called my attention to a well dressed man sitting on a bench close by.” “While people were still in a shock as to why a well dressed man will suddenly starting putting off his clothes in public, he then did the unthinkable. He started slicing his penis to the shock of every one.” “It was very gory. There was blood everywhere. A man had to rush at him and wrestle the blade from him before others called in the police from A Division Station who rushed him to the hospital.”

The State Police image Maker Femi Joseph said preliminary investigation showed that oluwole might be suffering from a spiritual cum psychological problem. Joseph said that
“When we interrogated him, he said a ‘monster’ had been talking to him to take some weird decisions. ” He said it was the ‘monster’ who told him to cut his penis for donation which he did. “He added that the ‘monster’ also instructed him to donate his testicles”

The Police spokesperson however said that the victim would not be charged for any offence despite causing harm to himself as the concern of the police for now was how to get him necessary help. Joseph said
“If he had tried to commit suicide, which is a criminal offence, we would have charged him, but we don’t actually know how to situate his condition.” ” He really needs help which we are trying to give him. At present, he is responding to treatment at the hospital.
Joseph however commended the ‘good samaritans’ for their promptness in salvaging the situation

$10K reward offered to nab person who introduced fish into lake that devours all other fish

The Nevada Department of Wildlife is offering a $10,000 reward to help nab the culprit who apparently dumped Northern pike in Comins Lake, a popular fishing spot surrounded by mountains near Great Basin National Park.

By all accounts, Comins Lake was well on its way to recovery after the state restocked the fishery with largemouth bass, brown and rainbow trout in 2015.

But the invading Northern Pike were discovered again last month by a fisherman who caught one and called state wildlife officials. Five more have been confirmed since then.

“This malicious and illegal act seriously endangers our effort to restore this important fishery,” said Jon Sjoberg, chief of fisheries for the Nevada Department of Wildlife. “The people illegally introducing pike are destroying a fishery, not creating a new one.”

Chief Game Warden Tyler Turnipseed announced the reward this week.

“We intend to find who did it,” he said.

Northern pike , with its long, needle-sharp teeth, the voracious predator that sometimes grows longer than 4 feet (1.2 meters) can wipe out an entire fishery.

“They eat all the trout we put in there,” Edwin Lyngar, spokesman for the state wildlife agency, said in an interview Friday. “Then they eat all the other fish they can find, and then they start to eat each other.”

FaceBook, Google lose $123m to scammer(Photo)

The Court of Appeal of Lithuania has decided to extradite to the United States a Lithuanian scam artist identified as Evaldas Rimasauskas, who conned $123 million out of FaceBook and Google by sending fake emails.

“Assumption that the damage was done to the companies registered in the United States became the ground for the extradition of Rimasauskas,” the court said in a press release on Friday.
The decision to extradite the scammer was irrevocable, the court said.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York accused Rimasauskas of wire transfer fraud, aggravated identity theft and money laundering, news agency Elta reported.

It is alleged that Rimasauskas took part in the scam using e-mail correspondence and posed as an Asian computer hardware manufacturer to persuade Google and FaceBook to accept fraudulent invoices and transfer funds to the company established under the same name in Latvia.

The funds were transferred to the latter company’s accounts in banks in Cyprus and Latvia.

Rimasauskas is suspected to have conned 23 million dollars from Google and 100 million dollars from FaceBook.

He was detained in Lithuania on March 16. On April 18, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Lithuania received the U.S. Justice Department’s request to extradite the suspect.

Rimasauskas has denied the charges.

Meanwhile, the attorney of Rimasauskas claimed that the investigation of the suspected crime must take place in Lithuania as the allegedly criminal actions were carried out within the country, local media reported.

Lithuania has a bilateral extradition agreement with the United States and this case “meets all the criteria”, the chairman of the court underlined.

30 killed in Ozubulu brothers’ drug war in S/Africa

The drug war between indigenes of the Ozubulu caused by mistrust may have claimed 30 lives in South Africa. The deaths occurred following a collapsed business deal.

The deaths resonated in Ozubulu community in Anambra state when the Catholic Church was attacked leaving more than 13 people dead on Sunday, August 6.

According to the Vanguard, the quarrel among the indigenes of Ozubulu in residing in South Africa was caused by the suspicion among them over failure to keep to business deals.

The theatre of war shifted to Amakwa village, causing last Sunday’s shooting incident at St Philip’s Catholic Church, in which 27 worshippers were also injured.

The shooting took place during 6.00am Mass.Five of its indigenes were killed this year in South Africa.

Some of the villagers revealed to Vanguard which visited Ozubulu after the Sunday killings.

“In 10 years about 30 people from this place have been killed in South Africa,” a woman who preferred anonymity for security reasons told us.
“It had to do with one deal or the other”, she said

Vanguard made inquiries about the owners of the mansions and discovered that most of their owners reside in South Africa and were either dead or had not returned home for a long time due to fear associated with the nature of their businesses.

Looking at some of the houses, it was obvious that they had been abandoned for a long time. It was gathered that many of the people who own the houses consistently contribute meaningfully towards community development through their relations, especially in the area of church building, road rehabilitation, market construction, among other projects.

Take the case of Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu, popularly called ‘Bishop’ for instance, he started contributing towards the development of Ozubulu many years ago and before he returned home and got involved in community development. Some years ago, he was awarded a chieftaincy title by the community even in his absence due to his contributions towards the development of the community.

The Monarch of Ozubulu, Igwe Oruche confirmed that the problem started about 10 years ago when ODU, which has a branch in South Africa, wanted to elect a new President- General there. He said:

“This created a major disagreement over who would be their leader in that country and it eventually tore them apart. But the overall President General both in Ozubulu and in Diaspora, Engr. Norbert Anigbogu intervened by inviting the two factions back home for a peaceful resolution of the problem. “When they returned, a traditional oath was prepared for them to take in order to enthrone brotherliness among them and to further quell the rift between the factions, but most of them refused to take the oath on the basis that they are Christians.

“At that point, an alternative was made and a Catholic priest was invited to perform the Christian aspect of oath- taking which was done and everyone appreciated it. “But later, the conflict was rekindled by some of them who reneged the agreement made during the oath taking alleged that since I, the traditional ruler, was not present during the exercise, the reconciliation was null, void and improper.”
