Bow Wow Leaves Cash Money, Is Now Working With Snoop Dogg &Jermaine Dupri

Bow Wow, who's been rapping since age five, is ready for a new stage in his career. Now 28, the rapper just announced his departure from Cash
Money Records, to which he signed over five years ago.

He posted the video announcement to his Facebook, and he was quick to clarify: "This is a peaceful situation."

Bow Wow maintains there is no bad blood between him, Cash Money, or Birdman , who he took the time to thank for signing him in the first place.

During his tenure at Cash Money, Bow Wow didn't put out a single album, and though he says the split was amicable, it's clear the label was hindering his productivity.

"I wanna dictate when my music comes out. I'm tired of going to the studio to make records and then I listen to them. 'Cuz they get old... I just can't be held up by nobody. It's as simple as that."

After his departure, the rapper says he's now his own boss, though he plans on working closely with Snoop Dogg and Jermaine Dupri , the rapper and producer responsible for kickstarting his childhood career.

"Now that I have both of them
in cahoots with each other, this is only gonna make my new situation even more monumental."

He ends by confirming that a new Dupri-produced single is on the way.

Busta Rhymes was destined for greatness. During his visit to DJ Skee’s new Fuse show “SKEE TV” on Thursday, the hip-hop icon reminisced about coming up as an MC in high school.

He attended George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School with two fellow legends, the Notorious B.I.G. and Jay Z.

He never knew Biggie was an MC because Busta was never actually in class. “I didn’t know Biggie rhymed in school ’cause in school we was cuttin’ a lot of class and we was smokin’ a lot of weed and bullshittin’,” he admitted.

But he was familiar with Hov’s talent. “I knew Jay Z was rhyming ’cause me and Jay Z battled in school, speed rapping,” he said. “He had finessed the speed rapping phenomenally at that time and I was new with the speed rapping, but losing that battle to Jay in speed rapping is what made me one of the most dangerous speed rappers today.”

Years later, the tables have turned. “Jay know he can’t see me in no speed rapping today,” laughed Busta.

However, if it wasn’t for Jay, Busta wouldn’t have honed in on his speed rapping. “He inspired my desire to want to master it because, under the circumstances of how I took the L, it didn’t rest well with me.”

He sharpened his skills, hoping for a rematch, but that moment never came.
