Iyanya Signs $350k Endorsement Deal With Zinox (computers) Group

Iyanya, yesterday signed a $ 350,000. (N 56,698,817.89) one year endorsement deal with Zinox Computers. Zinox computers, which is Nigeria’s first certified branded computers, will upload all Iyanya’s songs and videos to all their computers. Iyanya will also do a song for them and appear on Zinox billboards and TV commercials.

SO SAD: 21-Year-Old Girl Commits Suicide Over Mother’s Comments

A 21-year-old girl identified as Kemi, at the weekend, committed suicide in Isale Asa Ilorin, Kwara State.

The deceased, who was a fashion designer, allegedly took her own life with a locally-made rat poison known as sole lasan following uncomplimentary comments from her mother during a brawl.

A neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the girl and her mum had a quarrel on Friday night and in the course of the brawl, Mummy Kemi, as her mom is popularly called, referred to her daughter as “a complete failure and a disgrace to the family”.

The neighbour said the deceased’s mother, who operates a grinding machine nearby, went to her shop and Kemi, who was unhappy with her mother’s comment, went into her room and drank the poison.

“When Mummy Kemi came in about 30 minutes later, she saw that Kemi was writhing in pains. She was said to have raised the alarm,” the source said.

The source said sympathisers, who suspected Kemi might have taken a poisonous substance, quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital for medical attention but the doctors there referred them to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.

She died on her way to the teaching hospital.

Olufemi Fabode, the State’s Police Command’s spokesperson, could not be reached for confirmation as his mobile phone was switched off.

As Wizkid prepares to release his sophomore album, the singer has released a number of high number collaborations, with the latest being ’90s star Daddy Showkey.

Having already showed off the tracklist from his forthcoming album with promising collaborations with Don Jazzy, Seyi Shay, Efya, Banky W and more new school artistes, Wizkid is taking thing a bit further and has revealed that he would also be releasing a song with the legendary Daddy Showkey.

With 30 minutes in the studio, Wizkid has ascertained that a “jam” has been produced between the musical geniuses from two different generations. We can only look forward to the music they would birth especially after Wizkid’s “Jaiye Jaiye” with Afro king, Femi Kuti a few weeks ago.

The cringe worthy video, shot in a shopping mall in Dubai, shows the man, described as an 'Indian teen', and the girl walk up to a group of buskers.

As the musicians begin a to play he takes a microphone and launches into a gooey speech saying: 'I have a very special message for a very special girl. This is where we met three months ago.

But the girl simply cannot take anymore and she snatches the miniature guitar out of the hands of one of the buskers and whacks her suitor round the head with it sending him to the floor in a crumpled heap.
She then throws the instrument onto the ground and and storms off.
The clip has since gone viral on YouTube but there is a strong suggestion it could be a publicity stunt, not in the least because the mall train bears the advertising message 'not so sweet'.

According to recent reports, Khloe Kardashian’s marriage to Lamar Odom might be in trouble, and it isn’t because of the rumored affair on his part.
The marriage of Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom is in crisis and the core reason is hardcore drug abuse. Multiple sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … Lamar has had a problem for 2 years. It got so bad, last August Khloe pressured Lamar to go to rehab. Lamar went to a facility in San Diego, but he was so resistant Khloe hired private investigators to secretly stand guard at the rehab place to make sure he didn’t leave.
The P.I.s stood guard 24/7. Our sources say Lamar constantly threatened to leave and Khloe made several visits to prevail upon him to stay. We’re told after 3 weeks, Lamar left for good.We’re told Lamar actually stayed clean once he left rehab and was able to play well for the Clippers this past season. But when the season was over, sources say Lamar slipped deep back into hardcore recreational drugs. As for reports that Lamar was cheating recently, we’re told Khloe is convinced it happened, and she feels she’s been hit with a double whammy … but drugs are the main problem.
As for divorce … neither Khloe nor Lamar has contacted a lawyer. As one source put it, “Khloe is more concerned about saving Lamar than ending her marriage.”We’re told the situation has become dire. Sources tell us … within the last 2 days, the entire family staged an intervention, trying to convince Lamar to go back to rehab, but he wouldn’t have any of it. In fact, on Wednesday morning, right after the failed intervention, Khloe threw Lamar out of the house and as you see from the pic, one of Lamar’s friends is loading Lamar’s stuff in his car as Lamar watches.We attempted to reach Lamar for comment … so far, no word back2
His drug of choice has also been revealed:
Lamar Odom has been deep into crack cocaine for at least 2 years … TMZ has learned. TMZ broke the story, Lamar has gone off the rails with drug use … which is the principal cause of the crisis in his marriage to Khloe Kardashian. As we reported Lamar went to a rehab facility a year ago this month and stayed for 3 weeks before bailing — and we’re told the problem was crack. Sources say Lamar’s crack use was extreme before he went to rehab, but he cleaned up his act during the basketball season that just ended. Sources say shortly after he hung up his jersey, he started again with a bang. As we reported … Khloe threw Lamar out of the house a few days ago after he rejected an attempt at an intervention. It’s unclear how Lamar’s problem will affect his basketball career.

US Army Sergeant Receives Medal Of Honor

President Obama presented the Congressional Medal of Honor to Sergeant Carter during a ceremony Monday at the White House. Obama called Carter a true hero and said his service and selfless actions saved many lives.
Carter is the second U.S. service member to receive the award for bravery in an October 3, 2009 battle, during which Taliban insurgents tried to overrun Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan’s Nuristan province. Eight U.S. soldiers were killed in the fighting.
It is the first battle since the Vietnam War in which two living service members earned the Medal of Honor. Staff Sergeant Clinton Romesha received his medal in February.
The last battle for which two living service members received the Medal of Honor was the 1967 Battle of Ap Bac in Vietnam.

No New Students: All 25,000 Students Fail In University Admission Test

Every single student who applied for admission into the University of Liberia failed the school’s admission test, and there were over 25,000 of them!

A university official said students who took the $25 exam did not have a basic understanding of English, the BBC reports, and it was the first time that all entrants failed.

Liberia’s President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has said the country’s education system is still “in a mess” following a civil war that ended a decade ago.

Education Minister Etmonia David-Tarpeh will meet with university officials to discuss the 100 percent failure rate, the BBC reports.

“I know there are a lot of weaknesses in the schools but for a whole group of people to take exams and every single one of them to fail, I have my doubts about that,” David-Tarpeh said. “It’s like mass murder.”
