Youngest Club DJ: 5 Years Arch Jnr Is Finally On The Guinness World Records!

At exactly 5 years and 38 days, South African kid, Oratilwe AJ Hlongwane, popularly known as, DJ Arch Jnr entered into the prestigious Guinness World Records as the youngest club DJ in the world.

Arch took the title from the previous record holder, six-year-old Itsuki Morita from Japan.

According to the record breaker’s father Glen Hlongwane, they received the letter confirming the great news on Wednesday. The little lad’s name has already been uploaded onto the official website of Guinness world record holders.

DJ Arch who won the 2015 SA’s Got Talent, broke the record and clinched the title after playing to an audience of over 100 people at a club for one hour as the terms and conditions specified.

The young DJ had made two failed attempts to claim the title as the youngest club DJ in the world. The first attempt failed because the boy who was three years old at the time could not play a full hour set which was compulsory to qualify for the award.

Again, he failed at the second attempt after it was disqualified because he played at a stadium and not a bar. Apparently, there are laid down rules that must be followed strictly before the attempt can count. Notwithstanding the failed attempts, the boy’s father did not give up.

Thus, on June 10, they manage to get the young DJ into a bar in Cosmo City, known as Platinum Lounge. He then played a one hour set which apparently met all criteria for the award.

The proud father applauded Arch for working so hard to break the record. Surely, concentrating for an hour is almost an impossible task for a child of that age. He made South Africa proud and we love him for that.
