The world football governing body FIFA has banned Nigeria from participating in all international competition following the sack of the Aminu Maigari-led NFF after exiting the world cup in the second round.
This means that Nigeria will be excluded from all international meetings and matches while the suspension takes effect immediately.
FIFA gave the Nigeria until July 15 to put its house in order or face a stiffer penalty, which may include Nigeria not participating in the Under-20 Women’s World Cup which kicks off August 5 in Canada.
The Nigerian government sacked the
football federation board and arrested its president Aminu Maigari after he returned from Brazil last week.
They said the NFF was responsible for the problem which broke out of the Eagles camp and eventually led to the ouster of the team, losing 2-0 to France in the Round-of-16.
FIFA refuses to recognise a Nigerian court’s order for the sports ministry to appoint new federation leaders. Aljazera
