U.S. Olympian Alysia Montano put aside the fact that she was 8-months pregnant and ran the 800 metres at the US Track and Field Championships on Thursday, June 26.
Daily Mail reports that Montano, who has won the 800 national titles in the past four years, finished in 2 minutes, 32.13 seconds in the qualifying rounds, only seven weeks before she’s scheduled to give birth to her first child.
That the 28-year-old former University of California star finished last in her preliminary heat, didn’t matter one bit to the crowd gathered at the Stadium as she received a rousing ovation after finishing her first lap and the cheering grew louder when she finally crossed the finish line.
