The couple Laura, 25, and Christopher Barnett, 38, who booked a night in the luxury room six months after they married to celebrate the husband, Christopher's birthday fled with slippers, dressing gowns, Egyptian linen sheets, pillows, everything in the minibar, bedside telephone and the flat-screen television.
They checked into the Grade II-listed Morgans Hotel in Swansea, South Wales, for a romantic break were were caught when Barnett argued the bill for a pay-per-view movie - saying the room didn’t have a television.
A staff was sent to go and check their room and found most of the contents had been removed. They were arrested by the Police and they later confessed to the crime.
Christopher was sentenced to 16 weeks in Jail, while Laura his wife was given one year community service and must compete 80 hours unpaid work.
